Oh, it’s still out there but you are more likely to get called out for it. If you walk into your job and start making bigoted jokes about Jewish people, you’ll get fired in thirty minutes. That wasn’t so in the 50’s.

Exactly. There was a casual “Jew hatred” back then that was more socially acceptable. Thank God that sort of thing is no longer tolerated.

@Phoenix_person and I friends off TH. For the life of me, I can’t imagine him hating Jewish people. Or anyone else, for that matter.

On a much smaller scale, there was a time when four consecutive Speakers of the House in Massachusetts got busted for corruption. All are convicted felons now.

That’s one of the most disgusting and damaging books ever written.

When I was in 8th grade we had to do a report on our biological family and their nationality. I’m adopted and at that time did now know my biological family . I also have blonde hair, blue eyes, and I am the whitest white guy you’ve ever seen. With a complete straight face, I did my report on a local native american tribe. I didn’t claim membership-but I dared anyone to call me out on it.

Lol. We all know people who spend their time hating everything. That, my friend, surely gets exhausting. Same. I’m more vocal about the sports teams and music I dislike. You know, the really important stuff.

There’s a strong streak of elitism/moral purity to those who scream the loudest about boycotts. They want everyone to look at them and see how moral and righteous they are. That’s why they always tell everyone what they are boycotting instead of just privately doing so. It is, of course, their right to do whatever they wish-but we can usually see right through them.

But…but…how do you prove your moral superiority to others?! 😜

Yup, all my TKD instructors are Asian and they’ve experienced some racism too. It’s incredibly sad.

Pretty much accurate. The old joke is that minorities and cops usually have a hard time in horror movies. I run in some horror circles and this movie is booming. People call it one of the best horror movies of the last few years.

Exactly. Like I’ve always said the extreme left and right are the same people. They look for reasons to be angry and unhappy and what a surprise-they always find them.

The biggest difference, generally speaking, is that conservatives think liberals are misguided or wrong. Liberals think conservatives are evil. Yes, it’s just a generality. I know of conservatives who rant and rave about liberals being evil, twisted, etc. And I know of liberals who think conservatives are just misguided as well.

One of my most immature beliefs was that I honestly, honestly thought people questioned their own beliefs in my twenties. Didn’t everyone do that?. Now, as a wiser grown man, I see how stupid I was. People, for the most part, accept the reality of the world they are presented with and never ever question it.

Dude! I’m not a member of any party but I would staunchly support them. The wound is still very raw but I highly doubt your side has learned anything. Self critique is not possible among true believers, it’s like trying to grasp at smoke.

According to this it’s only at 4.1%. Which, while still sad, means it’s not even in the top 10 Granted, this is only 2022. It might have skyrocketed in 2023.

I’ve never seen the originals with Charles Bronson nor have I seen the remakes. I sleep very well at night knowing that I’ve missed those landmarks of film history.
