  1. I love your stick figure cartoons.
  2. I think there’s a specific calling that deals with cleaning the chapel, but I’m 100% sure about that.
  3. Oh, agree. It was just a joke. They were going to call me for something to do with the EQ and no one said anything. I’ve also seen biker looking guys as bishops before.
  4. I wonder why beards went out of style after the Victorian era.
  5. At least we’re laughing. It’s made the rounds a few times.
  6. Ironically, you piously complain about not liking juvenile and gross humor and then use this as a metaphor. That’s awesome. Like legit, 5 star “I have to screen shot this and show friends” awesome. I was already having a wonderful day and you made it ten times better.
  7. That’s cool it’s your life. Good luck with all that. And yes, I do think 85% of the complaining conservatives do is virtue signaling. No apologies. Some seem to complain so much that when they have legit concerns no one listens because we’re tired of hearing “Wolf! Wolf!”
  8. That’s fine-it’s your life after all-but does it ever get depressing or just exhausting? Or is it like a habit-something you like doing? I’m genuinely curious. Like everyone else I have my moments but I try to go to extra mile to not spend my days complaining. Especially about things I can’t change. None of my friend are complainers either. So I don’t have anyone like that in my life. Again, I’m not perfect, so yes, I do it too sometimes.
  9. I think Reagan was the outlier because he was a cheerful, optimistic conservative. Before him that stereotype of the grouchy, always unhappy and snarling conservative (like one of my political heroes, AuH2o) had a lot of truth to it. I think I was exactly right when I said conservatives like complaining because it makes them feel moral. It’s their way of patting themselves on the back because they like showing off how they think society is evil and how they are above it. White liberals do the same thing with race so they can say how racist society is-but then they support BLM from their mansions so they can be “above” it.
  10. It is. And no matter how noble your intentions, it’ll almost certainly cause untold misery for the family. When the new mommy and daddy die, guess who wants a cut of the inheritance? I’ve only heard of adult adoption twice. Both times it caused a huge amount of horror for the families involved. If you are going to do this I wish you the best-but you are opening a massive door with the word “DANGER” on it.
  11. Amen. As someone married since 2002 to the same gal I’ll never feel like a failure.
  12. You guys are both very accomplished in your careers, and more importantly you have wonderful families. I truly don’t understand why either one of you would feel even remotely like you haven’t accomplished much.
  13. Nope, they’ll lose because they are never satisfied and will always find something to complain about. They like losing because it makes them feel noble. They can continue complaining about our sick society because they view themselves as more moral than those horrible sinners. They don’t want to win because then they’d have nothing to snobbishly look down upon. They also seem to genuinely enjoy complaining without offering solutions or accepting the solutions others offer. Which is also called whining.
  14. Ironically it’s never appealed to me either.
  15. That’s fine, you have every right to watch and enjoy whatever media you’d like to. I still can’t help but shake that this criticism is more about the critic. I’m fully convinced that if they made a G rated film, people would complain it’s too corny.
  16. I met with local church leaders in the last few months to address certain things. That’s as close as I’ll go for now.
  17. @Just_A_Guy-this why the right always loses in the culture war. People want “conservative entertainment” then complain about it being too rude. The filmmakers can’t win. Why bother appealing to anyone on the right of this what you’ll get?
  18. The one thing I’ve got from this thread? If I ever go back to church I’m growing a beard down to my knees so no one will ask me to do any calling. 😜
  19. I think one of the greatest blessings of being American is that you can reinvent and redefine yourself. Once again I find myself blessed beyond words that I’m from here.
  20. Understand totally. As a convert I can’t say anything to someone who redefines how they view themselves religiously. I no longer define myself as Catholic and I was raised that way. I also view myself as a Floridian and I wasn’t raised here either. I’m also adopted and a lot of adoptees are very fluid* with how they define themselves ethnically and religiously *it seems to be one of two options for adoptees. We either define ourselves loosely like I do or they become hyper focused on who they were during their upbringing.
  21. For the sake of humor feel free to use the pics. I don’t think my friend would let you use the actual spiders though. 🙂
  22. Lol! And in other news, Mr. @Jamie123 needs a couch to crash on for the next few days!
  23. It’s a fascinating topic. People my age tend to define themselves by multiple things, so in case they lose one of them they don’t have an existential crisis. I also think there are just more communities to join than ever before, so we have more options.
