Isn't there a lot of drug wars going on in and around Tijuana right now?

Many will say quite literal and it may have very well been. Fact of the matter is none of us were there so we really don't know how literal the story is. matter replication (as seen in Star Trek) would be a possible explanation - many things that were once science fiction has become science fact as we learn more and more -- who knows?

So... I'm never getting married. That's cool, right?
mnn727 replied to apollyon's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I have known men with SSA that have gotten married, some work, some do not. I would agree though that if you date, before the dating gets to the serious point you would need to inform the woman. There is more to marriage than sex, the older you get the less important sex is and the more importanant companionship and friendship becomes. -
Pretty much what mine does also, occasionally he'll even be in Gospel Doctrine class if he doesn't need to be elsewhere

I agree with you on not watching the OP's type of shows, but all 4 you mentioned are on my 'don't miss' list

What is general protocol?
mnn727 replied to Bini's topic in Learn about The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints
Breaking the Law of Chastity is one of the things that will prevent a baptism. You either believe and follow or you don't. -
I put up with a lot of things but I will not put up with stupidity on the part of a business owner/manager. I would have left my cart standing there with the food in in and walked out, never to return. I also would have written a letter to the company explaining why, and ask them how in the world a manager would think putting that person on the register with their limitations was a good idea. Why wasn't the person that was looking in the cart for forbidden foods running the register? Its not like its a real skilled position anymore, scan the items and do what the register tells them to do. Heck the person that couldn't touch the food could stand behind them to tell them what to do if they got confused.

exceptable or acceptable? Makes a difference. If I want the Spirit close I stay away from that which would move me away from him (note I did not say move Him away from me)

When you haven't been able to sleep through an entire night since 1987, naps are wonderful.

That's the Bishops call, not yours. However it is not your duty to bring the food to him. "Oops sorry, we're busy that day, you'll have to make other arrangements" is the only excuse you need to give him. As I said above your husband need another HP as his companion, as it stands everything is on your families shoulders, that's not the program and its obviously causing problems/concerns. Your husband also needs to be reporting to the HP Group leader and letting them share the burdens. Its a group for a reason.
-
My opinion is that this is a mistake except in extreme circumstances (and the Brethern have said this also. You would be doing your husband and all people involved a favor to get this back to the way its supposed to be -- 2 Priesthood holders - they then share both the burden and the blessings.

Those are fine, as is visiting friends, neighbors, and family, writing letters (emails), doing genealogy, hobbies. Pretty much anything if done in the spirit of the Sabbath. The one thing I avoid is in making anyone work on the Sabbath, thus no shopping, restaurants, gyms etc. As beefche said, we know the businesses won't close because we don't visit, but we have Covenanted with God to obey his commandments. The 10 Commandments are quite clear about not making anyone work for you on the Sabbath. Ten Commandments verses 8-10 are about the Sabbath, verse 10 is what is germane to this conversation Funny

Is Doctor Who alright for Mormons to Watch?
mnn727 replied to madhats's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
No, however the difference between Torchwood the Series, and Torchwood the Special was a bit much, the story line itself was great, there was no reason for the scene in question, it did nothing to advance the story line at all, thus it was in there only as a gratuitous sex scene put in for some supposed value of the writers or director. -
Anon, I don't know why you are meeting with him however: If you're leaving in 3 weeks, what kind of progress do you think you can make? His job HAS changed. Its not like you'll be there long term for him to see whatever it is to the end. As far as the other girls - teenage time is full of cliques, personality conflicts, social awkwardness, etc. Tough it out for 3 weeks and then remember when you get to your new ward -- to have friends you need to be a friend. As far as Wednesday night activities, perhaps you're just growing out of them, that happens at some point for just about everyone.

Come on, the Sonic Screwdriver would disable the light saber before anyone could get a swing in.

I realize that, however the one scene went a bit too far - yes it was a cable premium channel - that was free for Dish customers at that time -
This has been the rule in our home for years - Our neighborhood dry cleaner has 88 cent days on Wednesdays (for laundry, not dry cleaning)

Kids over 21Dr Who has not been a kids show for years. I watch it all the time, why would it having a gay character make it something you shouldn't watch? Do you think you become gay by watching a gay character on a TV show? Now I do think the last Torchwood special (Torchwood: Miracle day) on STARZ went a bit too far in one scene with Jack and the bartender in bed together - they weren't just laying there. -
Just proves - If you hang around Mormons too long, you'll get a calling.

Guess I'm getting old, I had to google who that was.

Why would anyone object to the idea that Jesus was married?
mnn727 replied to Vort's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I think it a holdover from when sex was thought of something dirty, even inside marriage. To think of Jesus having sex would be unthinkable to someone who though sex was dirty. -
Fat people (and I know from personal experience) have folds of skin that are catching points for sweat. sometimes you need to take special steps to make sure they get cleaned, sometimes multiple times a day.
