Elsewhere in the universe, a few of us had lots of fun with a thread for posting stickman drawings. It seems unfair to exclude ThirdHour folk from such fun, so, please post your stickmen here (scripture-inspired or otherwise)...

@Just_A_Guy's reply reminded me that there's leadership by formal position, and there's leadership. @Dylan, don't worry about the administrative leadership (beyond what's already been said), be a leader regardless. (That's not a suggestion to usurp authority from those who hold formal positions. It is a suggestion to be the kind of person people will look up to and follow, regardless of their formal position - because of your integrity, kindness, honesty, etc.)

IMO, given who will rule that kingdom (and I'm honestly not sure if it's Satan or Cain), one should really, really not want to end up there... [Meanwhile, excuse me, I must submit to King Klaw.]

IMO, without this explanation, no one is going to interpret it this way. "He has less milk than I do." The listener is guaranteed to assume "He" has some volume of milk.

Do you need to revise that first sentence? The cited scripture (and everything I know) makes it clear that less than telestial is a kingdom, but not of glory. (Or am I misunderstanding something, or....?)

My ink review story (The Adventures of Quin and Makhabesh) had a goat adventure (part 3). Ricky Cha - an obnoxious little goat - was one of the most popular characters. The goats were let by the goat wizard, Kri Nachi, the Ancient of Goats. And if you're lacking for entertainment, you could do worse than "Angry Ram destroys a punching bag":

(hit submit too soon) The first requirement here is to figure out what worship means - specifically, where it came from (and perhaps what it meant way back in the day). But for this purpose, etymology is sufficient: To worship someone is to acknowledge their worth. Some people worship wealth or fame - pursuing them with a singleness of purpose. Some worship their career. Etc. We worship that which we consider to be of the most worth. That which is of the most worth is our "god". God our Father wants us to worship him ("thou shalt have no other gods before me") for the reason @Vort gave - it's the way to ensure the immortality and eternal life of man. Worship of anything else before (over, more than) God will lead us elsewhere. Next, my recommendation is that you turn to the Topical Guide entry for Worship and study what you find there. I have found this to be a very effective technique for clarifying my own thinking. And often, I don't even have to leave the Topical Guide (though it's better to read more than less of the scriptures cited). In this case, just from the entry, I see a few interesting things: When Abraham was on his way to sacrifice Isaac, he told the men with them to stay behind while "I and the lad will go yonder and worship" - so making sacrifices to God (these days, a broken heart and contrite spirit, aka humility and repentance) is considered worshiping God. The word "serve" is frequently treated by those who created the index as synonymous with "worship". Ditto with the idea of loving God Psalm 95 suggests prayer as a form of (or companion to?) worship (Alma 33:3 makes them synonymous) Follow the Jeremiah link and you'll see that discipleship is treated as worship (similar in other citations) Accepting/receiving/following The Zoramites are an example of how not to worship (vain / lying words - hypocrisy) "...grant unto them their sacred privileges to worship the Lord their God, yea, to support and maintain the cause of God all his days..." (Alma 50:39) D&C 93 may warrant a deep dive: Other than these things and what's already been expressed by others, I have no clue what "worship" could mean - there are lots of verses where it says something like, "...he/they worshipped...", but these verses give no details as to what that means. Somehow, I doubt it involved Hollywood-esque idol worship style behavior. You'll have to excuse me now, Klaw is demanding that I worship him.

Why does ownership of property matter? He's not saying they have to own property, he's saying they have to have a residential address (aka live) in the voting district - not be transient. The why for this should be obvious - we elect people to represent the people in a geographic area. If you can't prove you live in the geographic area, why should we let you vote on who represents said geographic area?

Yeah, it's not enough to know the roads - you have to know the traffic patterns, how the lights work, how the drivers behave, etc. It doesn't take that long to learn all that - if you're driving 8+ hours a day all over the whole city, but folks these days think computers can do everything.

I just love when the computer tells them something and they ask it to verify / re-check what it just said, without any further input - as if a computer could come up with a different answer without further input. Meanwhile, as to the school buses... I agree, this seems like an "easy button" problem. As a former driver and dispatcher, it's not that hard to plan routes, assuming you have all the data you need and know the city. I wonder why it's so hard for them to hire enough bus drivers. Perhaps the feds are paying too many people not to work. I would consider being a bus driver (I did that in Moscow, Russia, after all), but only if there were another adult on the bus whose job it was to watch after the children - you can't do that and drive - and I'll bet they can't afford that, either.

Person probably assumed outsider would know Salt Lake but not Holladay, so they kept it simple and said "Salt Lake". I've done that just so I don't have to explain where my little part of Salt Lake County is. But I definitely do not consider myself to live in (or even that close to) Salt Lake City.

I don't live in that heathen city! I bet you'd love our stake, @Vort Not SLC, that's for sure, and seriously good folk. Though @mirkwood's ward could do with some improvement, so yeah, you should consider moving in and helping them out. My ward, on the other hand, is practically perfect. Those of us who live here don't. Salt Lake valley, OK. SLCounty, OK, but not part of the city.
