TheyCallMeMom Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 But I need name idea for our puppy We want to use a scriptural name.. Female dog.. and the name has to be 2 syllables.. ( its best for dogs to have 2 syllable names in regards to commanding them) It doesnt have to be a persons name.. it could be a place or whatever.. So what do ya have? :) Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 How about Emer? That's also an Irish girl's name.It depends a lot on the dog though. I like the name Shiloh. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 What kind of dog? (This is very important) Quote
pam Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I agree with LM. We need more information on the dog. Type, color etc. Names are often influenced by how they look. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Game, set, and match to Tarnished (say "Abish" ten times fast) (but not where anyone can hear you). Quote
pam Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Game, set, and match to Tarnished (say "Abish" ten times fast) (but not where anyone can hear you). Okay I will admit I tried this. Depending on where you put the accent..saying it 10 times really fast comes out to something else. Quote
Tarnished Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Game, set, and match to Tarnished (say "Abish" ten times fast) (but not where anyone can hear you). It is fitting then, considering it is a name for a female dog? Quote
talisyn Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I said it ten times fast and came out with 'Abish'...am I doing it wrong? Quote
Dravin Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Some searching turns up Kelev as meaning dog in Hebrew. Does it have to be scriptural or does Hebrew work? Because there is a site here of Hebrew female dog names. If it must be a scriptural word to bad Kokaubeam is to many syllables. Gnolaum sounds like it has only two, doesn't sound feminine though. WillowTheWhisp Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I said it ten times fast and came out with 'Abish'...am I doing it wrong?Me too. I think we're missing something. Quote
Dravin Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I think its slurring into a not nice term for a female dog or pushy woman for them. Quote
Lbybug Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Me too. I think we're missing something.if it were abich i could see the bad words coming out, but it's not, it's abish. maybe i'm pronouncing it wrong? Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 If I say it very quickly it almost comes out "a Bishop, Bishop, Bishop, Bishop." Quote
Lbybug Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 ohhhh willow i think you're into something.!!!!! i get that too! Quote
Connie Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 You'll have to let us know what name you decide on, TheyCallMeMom. Quote
Wingnut Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 How 'bout Dinah?Dinah won't you blow, Dina won't you blow, Dinah won't you blow your ho-or-or-orn?VashtiThat name sounds really cool. Sounds more like a cat name to me than a dog name, though.I said it ten times fast and came out with 'Abish'...am I doing it wrong?Same with me. Quote
TheyCallMeMom Posted April 8, 2009 Author Report Posted April 8, 2009 Hey great brainstorming Its a shephard mix. ~ little found on the side of the road dog I have not decided.. I will take the names and let the boy she belongs to decide from there Quote
pam Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I said it ten times fast and came out with 'Abish'...am I doing it wrong? Obviously I need to repent as I came up with something not quite so nice. You obviously are on the right path. Quote
