Misshalfway Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Ok. So last night I am falling asleep in my bed after watching the "LOST" season finale and feeling annoyed by the stupidity of the first hour. Anyway, My H is gone on business and the kids are all asleep and it is like 11:30pm. My window is cracked and I can hear the sprinklers and a dog or two in the distance. Everything else is quiet and I was kinda lingering in that half sleeping/half awake place. Then I swear I heard someone call my name. It wasn't my kids cause my kids don't call me by my nickname and they were all asleep. It was as if someone was trying to get my attention like they were calling me across a field only it was by my right ear between me and the window. I looked around the room and out into the hallway. I didn't feel scared or particularly spiritual either. I kinda sat there like, "what do you want?" and listened. Nothing else happened so I went to bed and wished I could remove the veil for a second. So what do you make of that???? Imagination maybe? Perhaps my overwhelming desire to be on the Ghost Hunters show? OMSTARS! I am crazy, huh? Just lay me down with a cloth and have Moksha bring me jello. Quote
pam Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 I don't think you are crazy at all. I have had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. Once similar to the way you describe and once at work when I heard "Pam I need you to help me." Yet I was the only one in the store at the time but I know I heard what I heard. It was very strange. beefche Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 I think you're crazy, but not because of that story. I have had similar experiences. In fact, I named my live in ghost, Lewis. It's definitely a man cause the voice is deeper, and the toilet seat is up sometimes when I swear I had put it down. Quote
Gwen Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 i've heard my name on many occasions when in that state of sleep. i know it's happened to my husband once. the first time was creepy, i don't think much about it now. there is always an urgency to the tone. i get up check on everyone, say a prayer for those i can't physically check on, then go back to bed. i figure that's all i can do. if it's all in my head what can it hurt and if it's the spirit i'll get further direction when needed. Maya Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 To me it sounds like someone on the other side needs to be found... have you checked all families taht there are no small children or bigger ones lost?? Someone who really should hve been in the family... maybe given away? Could even be someone not entirely your family but someone YOU can help. Or maybe you need the gostbusters... Quote
DigitalShadow Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 My opinion, it is your imagination. But then again you probably could have guessed my opinion on it :) Quote
Churchmouse Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 You're on the wrong site. You should be on Trueghoststories.co.uk. I'm there too but not as Churchmouse. I had that happen a few nights after I was baptized. Had more of a message also, but we won't go into that. That message is why I'm still a member today. Quote
kiwii Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 I once heard my mother call my name when I was shopping in a nearly empty hardware store. It was so clear that I turned, expecting to see her at the end of the aisle. I even searched the store for her. Called her from a payphone and it turned out she'd been 'frantically' trying to get ahold of me. Seems she'd had a run-in with my future mother-inlaw over wedding plans. You know, one of those life-or-death situations. Quote
jameslentz Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 i think that the still small voice is different for each person...because that is what I believe this is....I also think that deja vu is the spirit as well, maybe not some grand vision or prompting but definitely a way of saying...we are here and you know it. I think I'll name her "Marva". Unless of course, my ghost is a boy. Perhaps I should get one of those switch-hitter names like "Chris" or "Morgan".Maybe I should do some EVP work too. Try to establish contact. Anyone have an electromagnetic meter lying around? Quote

ploomf Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 I've had that happen several times. It always brings me right awake but it never frightens me. The first time it happened I was a teenager and I was laying in bed and I was angry about something, I don't remember what it was, and I just couldn't let it go. I was getting angrier and angrier the more I thought about it and all of a sudden I heard a mans voice right next to my ear, he just said my name, I don't really have words to describe what I felt but all the anger in me was just gone. rameumptom Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Miss 1/2, glad that my experiment in long distance name calling worked! Next time, I'll try more than just your nickname, perhaps ask you your shoe size or something. Quote
MikeUpton Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I'm with the theory that its something beyond the veil. I'd suggest asking Heavenly Father. Quote
