George Forman Grill - who doesn't have one of these?

Would I belong to the outcast group since I don't own one of these?

Buttoneer - have yet to use it, but I've got it!

We have one. It's OK on things like shirt buttons, I don't recommend it for waistband buttons. (sigh)

I may be one of a dozen people in the country who doesn't have a Foreman grill (limited counter/storage space is a problem). I do keep seeing them at DI, though. ;)

we had a ronco food dehydrator, still do actually, used it a few times..not bad

Hey, I bought his Popeil Pocket Fisherman years ago and got a lot of use out of it. I could easily keep it in my car so that made it real handy. You might say that if one where to fish Utah Lake with it, that they couldn't Carp about it.

Then there was always the Bass Master 7000, that could puree, frappé or simply blend whole bass easily and efficiently.

I don't have a George Foreman grill. Been wanting one though!

I remember one summer when I was about 7 or 8 and me and my brother were home alone while my parents went out shopping. There was nothing to watch on TV, so we ended up watching an infomercial. It was for a sandwhich maker. We wanted one soooooooooo badly by the end of the infomercial that we were seriously considering having our parents call the -800 number to order one!

So about 15 minutes later when our parents got home, we ran up to them to tell them about the wonderful infomercial we saw, then grinned, then pulled one out of one of the shopping bags! I guess they were already available in stores, and they'd thought it was a great invention as well. I still have one and use it reguarly for toasted cheese sandwhiches and pizza pockets and corndogs. :D

The sandwich makers (if its the kind I'm thinking of) work for a kind of pocket pie as well, though if you are cooking corn dogs in it it may not be the kind I'm thinking of. I'm thinking something like this.

For those who do not have a Foreman Grill--you need to get one. I love them because I can take a steak out of the freezer, place it on my grill, and have it ready to eat in about 5 min (depending on thickness and how you like it).

Here's a funny that happened recently. I cleaned out a closet and gave a bunch of stuff to my brother for his garage sale. One of the items was that hand sewing machine Amazon.com: Stitch Sew Quick Sewing Machine: Kitchen & Dining. My mom got it for me a few years ago, but since I don't sew, I never took it out of the box. My SIL called me to let me know that a lady bought it, but wanted to see it first. When they took it out of the box, a check fell out. My mom had placed a check in there, but I never knew--it was from 2002! My mom passed away a couple of years ago, so I can't ask her why she never asked me about it!

I'm with you Pam. I had one and gave it to the Thrift shop- I hated it.

That's exactly what I have. I probably should elaborate on teh corndog. It's Jiffy cornbread mix poured into each quarter of the sandwhich maker, then a quarter piece of hot dog pout into the middle of it, topped with a little bit more cornbread mix, then shut up until the cornbread is cooked. Instant triangle-shapped corndogs. ^_^

i had a small foreman grill and wore it out. now i have a griddler i've had about 3 yrs...has removeable plates. the flat ones are great for pancakes, grilled cheese, and burgers. the other ones are great for steak or chicken breast.

That's a pretty nifty idea, I'll have to keep that in mind. :)

George Foreman Grills are awesome! I got a small one as a gift - holds 2 burgers. I bought the bigger one - holds 4 burgers. I even bought the stand-up George Foreman that runs on camping propane tank (the one used for a lantern or those camping stoves). Great for cook-outs!

I got the "Set It and Forget It" rotisserie machine - love it! It takes an hour to cook 2 small chickens, but it truly is set it and forget it...

I got the Miracle Blade III. Love it! I got it 8 years or so ago and I can still throw a tomato on it and it slices like a samurai.

I got pedi-paws - Love it! My dog hates the clipper. So, I use the pedi-paws instead and he doesn't mind that. I have to trim more often though because it only shaves off a little bit at a time. If I forget to trim it for a while, I have to cut it with the clippers then trim with the pedi-paws to even out the edges.

Aquaglobe - Love it! But please don't use it on an orchid like they have in the commercial. Orchids need to dry out between waterings. I use it for my indoor pothos plants, indoor ferns, and indoor palm trees.

Moonsand - Love it, but too much money for what it's worth. The kids tend to spill it everywhere!

Bendaroos - Love it.

What I don't like at all:

Smooth Away - shaving thing - yes, it doesn't hurt while you're shaving, but a few minutes later you definitely feel the BURN! The thing is like sandpaper...

Can't remember the name of that painting tool - it's the thing that has a tube that you suck the paint into and it feeds the roller so you can paint an entire room without having to "dip" the roller into a paint tray. Yeah, the tube feeder works but when you're a little bitty woman like me, the thing gets SOOOO heavy that you have to stop every 3 rolls or so to rest your shoulders!

Min-Max exercise machine. It looks really cool - that little bitty chair thing with the rubber bands for full body exercise that easily fits on a little space on the floor on your closet. But, I never did get the hang of it. It is cumbersome for me to use. And I couldn't quite get the exact amount of resistance I need with the bands.

I do have this one. I received it as a gift from a former employer. We use it quite often.

Are those the butterfly looking hair thingys? I've wondered about those. I have very fine hair and find that most hair holder thingys don't work well in my hair. I wonder if these would. Off to my local electronics store to find them....:P

I found them at Bed, Bath and Beyond as well as my local Walgreens. I have super thick hair and they work on mine like a clip, however they are not strong enough to hold my hair back in a bun. I think, like most hair accessories, that they are just not strong enough for my hair. The way they are made is interesting and could easily be replicated with stretchy beading string and assorted beads. I bought one set because I thought I would like to give them a try, mostly because I am tired of my clips digging into the back of my head, and the comb things work pretty well that way, but the down side is that the combs dig into my head instead. Any more I will make myself as I have the beading string and the beads.

The Smooth Away stuff actually works pretty well for me. Except that I find that after about one use a film builds up over the sandpapery part and it no longer works very well. In fact it sometimes doesn't even make it through one use. I really do wish it worked better as I hate shaving.

I haven't even tried the Shamwow as every time we see one at the mall they look super cheap and not even worth it.

Check out this "As Seen On TV" aisle at Wal-Mart.

Man, wal-mart is REALLY taking over the world... including infomercials!

Shammy cloths! Infomercial stuff, but I can't live without my shammies, now. They are the greatest cloths in the history of man. I clean my dishes with one, my bathroom with another and use a third one for drying off.

Shammies!

So if I am understanding you FT...you didn't find shammies to be a sham?

My gf bought a work out dvd with a piece of equipment and she only got the dvds, which she never watched because she didn't get the equipment, so from that I would be really hard pressed to buy something on TV.

I got one of those spinning bath brush things for Christmas (sorry I totally forgot the name and can't really come up with a better description than spinning bath brush thing). It was very weird, it left my hand numb after I used it and I couldn't decide if I liked the feeling of my bath brush spinning around and around while I used it. It stopped working after a month or so any way, it wasn't a horrible product (until it stopped working) just a bit awkward to use.

I also tried Pro active when I was a teenager, oh boy after that experience I started doing a spot test with skin care products before I slathered them all over my face. My skin turned bright red and in the ensuing days tried multiple times to completely peel away from my face (probably so it could run away, it was probably terrified I would put more of that stuff on it). So I learned that I have very sensitive skin that doesn't like most acne products and I never bought a skincare product from an infomercial again.

One of my cousins has had really good results with it too so I just gave him my stuff when it didn't work for me. I think my skin is just really really really sensitive, it doesn't really like any acne products, dries out at the drop of a hat, starts peeling if you look at it funny, basically it's just a big pain. It was only through very careful trial and error that I found the products that I use now. Also keep in mind that in my teenage years I operated under the idea that if a little bit of product applied once a day worked then a whole lot applied ten times a day would work even better!!! Yeah this led to very bad results like the incident with the plant food.
