Churchmouse Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I hear they are considering exhuming the body of Ted Kennedy. They plan to turn him over. With Brown's win in MA Kennedy has probably rolled over in his grave:) Quote
Palerider Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) you gotta love it.....message sent:)...I guess he won because it was all Bushies fault. Edited January 20, 2010 by Palerider Quote
bytebear Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I guess the dead voters weren't enough. I wonder how many times Teddy voted. (too soon?) Quote
Moksha Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I guess he won because it was all Bushies fault. You've got to give Brown's 1982 centerfold spread in Cosmopolitan magazine some credit for pulling in the female vote. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 This is not only a win for the republicans and a blow to the President's agenda (especially healthcare), it's also a win for pickup trucks. Scott Brown said he had a pickup truck, thinking it might get people to vote for him. The Dems said he had a pickup truck, thinking people would vote agains him. The people voted. Quote
Connie Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Because there's something women like about a pickup man. Gosh, first he's in Cosmopolitan, then he drives a pickup. He got the entire female vote didn't he. I bet even Martha Coakley voted for him. Quote

Moksha Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Maybe some guys too.... What happens at those Republican parties stays at those Republican parties! Quote
miztrniceguy Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 maybe there is hope for Mass after all....a republican governor, now a senator. Quote
talisyn Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Shouldn't this be in Current events? That seems to be our de facto political section I'm not surprised. The Dem candidate didn't run a very good campaign. I think making a campaign speech at a MLK jr day event was the nail in the coffin. Quote
Maxel Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I wish a candidate with a better record could be found (him posing nude is a huge letdown). What's the chance that the Democrats pull out the nuclear option to try to pass healthcare reform anyway? Quote
El_Super_Fantastico Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 This news make me feel so happy. Bien hecho Mass. Quote
Maureen Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Downfall in the works?I'm not an Obama hater, so this little satire is somewhat cute but also a little over the top. I am though a Downfall fan, this movie is excellent; I highly recommend it. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) Yeah; the conundrum of that Downfall scene is that you can re-dub it for many, many scenarios (e.g., the woes of the BYU football team, or popped real estate bubbles) and it works very well; but the downside is--well--it's Hitler, and you're flirting with Godwin. I think making a campaign speech at a MLK jr day event was the nail in the coffin.Bad candidates that run bad campaigns win all the time.......she lost because people are worn out by Pelosi/Reid and the Obama train wreck. This was in a very Democrat state and was Kennedy's seat..... a seat vacated because he died. The nail in the coffin was held by Pelosi and hammered by Reid and the coffin belongs to the Democrats and Obama.Prediction: Hillary will challenge and beat Obama in the 2012 Democratic Primary. john doe Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I was listening to someone on the radio the other day saying that one of the reasons Brown was doing so well is that Mitt Romney gave Mass. a version of Obamacare when they demanded it, and now they decided they don't like it. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 If true that would be quite ironic, since Romney was stumping for Brown. :) Quote
