My vote is that it's a perfectly good piece of music but not my favorite. Not that I'm highly conversant with music from the baroque period, but there are other things I'd rather listen too. Like Little Fugue in G minor (tis a nice little piece and I like organs) and Brandenburg Concerto no. 5, or Messiah.

Awesome piece of music.. altho i can't quite say any of the poll options quite describes it heh... altho its weird to hear it in the background while a couple of mecha do a ballet thingy while wiping out alien invaders.

I'm in no position to pass judgment as to how technically accomplished it is. All I know is, I like to listen to it.

And even its detractors must admit it can't be as bad as some of the puns in this thread have been.

I love baroque music, and Pachelbel's Canon is one of my very favorites.

A charming little bit of music by itself. Pachelbel's Greatest Hit (as Peter Schickele once called it).

But a bit of its luster has worn off with constant and inappropriate use. Sort of like if Marie Osmond sang too many country and western songs.

It's a good piece of music to hear for the first, 2nd, or 3rd time. The chord progression is repetitive (a standard chaconne), but has influenced so many songs that are popular today. I think it's great, just not if you hear it all the time.
