CheriCat Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Not to sound negative, but I find it a little intrusive that I have to post an introduction just so I can do anything on the forum. I really wasn't looking to post anything, I just need some input and information on somethings that I'm pretty sure have been talked about before. I am a member, married in the temple. I have a calling and everything. Love the Gospel, and no one will ever be able to convince me that it's wrong or incorrect in any way, short of my Heavenly Father Himself. I am also over 18, and open to polite, respectful discussion of the more "mature" topics, but if anyone gets creepy with me, I'm gonna let him/her have it. Just an FYI. Quote

Welcome to the site. The "mature" topics are in the "open forum"... and I suggest that in order to participate in the "open forum", one might want to have an "open mind" to the fact that it has the same rules as the rest of the forum while discussing areas that may not be appropriate for public viewing. The ONLY thing you need to know is "if anyone gets creepy with you" is to learn how to use the button for the specific post. It is then reported to the moderating staff, discussed and acted upon.So lighten up and we'll all have fun, okay? Edited August 7, 2012 by skippy740 Quote
john doe Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Ah, yes, those dang rules get in the way of people doing whatever they want on a website that they don't own. Make sure you read the ones at the top of the page since you agreed to them when you signed up. Quote
Guest Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 You don't need to sign up to read posts, etc., on the forum... so you wouldn't need to post intros either. Welcome. Oh, and just so I know what to expect from you... what qualifies for creepy? Quote

Actually you do need to sign up if you want to read the posts in the adult section. Also if you want to post at all requires registration. Quote

NeuroTypical Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 I was perfectly happy not being in the adult section for all my pre-mod years. It can be an important resource for adults seeking advice though. Quote

And those who own the forum, get to make the rules.I am puzzled as to why your first thought in an LDS forum is that members would get "creepy" with you. Oh....and that's one example of why rules come in handy. You know...to keep the creepiness out.Hope you find what you are looking for.... Quote

skippy740 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Something I just remembered that probably doesn't occur to most of us who are completely addicted to this board... but if you register and not post, there's a "friendly" invitation to post every time you visit the board. Hence the title of the thread "Doing what I'm told...". Quote
pam Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 I think many of us realize that. It's just a bit forward to come to a new site and starting accusing the site of being intrusive. Quote
