Guest SquidMom Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Maybe if I vote for the one I don't want to win... Odds never seem to be in my favor on anything, so maybe reverse psychology would work? Haha.....Really, I don't know. My husband was trying to explain to me about individual votes and electoral votes, and how they don't really add up the same. Seems dumb to me..... But I probably just don't know what I'm talking about. Quote
Traveler Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) Anyone that believes any candidate, from their arguments, could turn this country from bankruptcy at this point just does not understand the principle of debt. Interest is a cruel master that never sleeps, never takes a day off, is never sick and never stops sucking the blood from it victims regardless of the pain it causes, will never show any mercy or leniency - ever. At this point it is impossible to tax our way out of debt without demanding 1/4 of every penny every person makes (including the poor and homeless) - and that is if there is never an increase in what we are spending. Next year we are on course to spend more than we did last year. We cannot cut spending to get out of debt without cutting every program, national defense, social security, food stamps, national parks, medicare, welfare, homeland security, federal help with disasters - every program by 60% and any program not cut means every other program is cut more. One of the worlds greatest fool is that fool that believes that life is improved and freedom secured with debt - the longer the USA postpones paying our debt the greater the pain and suffering when the debt is paid. In just 10 years if we do not change our love of debt it will require 1/2 of every penny everybody makes. So many people love their money they will go to war rather than pay their dept. I do not know any person willing to pay their share of the debt - everyone I know thinks someone else will pay their part for them and require nothing in return. Guest SquidMom Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Anyone ever watch South Park? (You don't have to admit it here!) I believe they touched on my general feelings about elections a few seasons ago..... Quote
Guest SquidMom Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 By voting I secured my right to complain for the next 4 years. I can be okay with that.... Quote
Vort Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 · Hidden Hidden By voting I secured my right to complain for the next 4 years. I can be okay with that....I don't want to complain. I want to leave. Unfortunately, there is no place better to go. And this country is my home, however moronic the leadership.
HoosierGuy Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Rejected!!!!! I'm happy. Horrible concession speech. Election was over weeks ago. Nate Silver the new political expert. Quote
Guest Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Oh, goody. The cherry on top of this lovely night. Quote
annewandering Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 ? You all thought Romneys speech was bad? I thought it was very gracious. He seemed very human and sincere in his asking for prayers for the president. Quote
pam Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 HoosieGuy stating his opinion on the speech is not "You all." I thought it was a good speech and that he is a class act. Quote
Backroads Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Granted, I was a little upset when my husband came in and told me the results, but I'm feeling better now. Then again, I voted for a third-party guy so I suppose I set myself up for disappointment. And I do believe Romney is very classy. Quote
MarginOfError Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Rejected!!!!! I'm happy. Horrible concession speech.Really? You continue to embarrass me.Election was over weeks ago. Nate Silver the new political expert. Not hardly. Nate Silver is competent in his use of statistical models and Bayesian analysis. I hardly think we should be surprised that the result of the election resembled very closely what state and national tracking polls have been indicating for weeks. Anyway, being good at math doesn't make you a political expert; it makes you good at math. Quote
HoosierGuy Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Really? You continue to embarrass me. I wonder if we ever find out what he has hidden down in that Caribbean island. My theory is that he has something bad hidden or involved with bad people. Hopefully this will come out in the near future. Quote

KirkCO Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Politics just drives me crazy. One of the activities I least like doing is debating politics with visitors/friends. When political debates come up, I usually let my wife go at it and I myself leave and go play with the kids :) Quote
Guest Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 The sad thing about this is, majority of the people that voted for Obama has the same profile as Hoosier. It would not bother me one bit if Obama won after truly weighing the substance of the issues. I just talked to a friend of mine who voted for Obama and he said he voted for him because he is cool enough to hang out of Jayzee and Romney walks like he's one step away from the old-man's walker. Bini Posted November 7, 2012 Author Report Posted November 7, 2012 I never talk politics. All I'd post on Fb and Twitter is: I support 'the other guy'. And I'd include a link to his campaign, yet people still found the need to jump down my throat and trash talk my political standing. So annoying. But it's all over now :) Quote

Just_A_Guy Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 huh? He has money down there. That is not a secret anymore. I am confused by your comment. It's not about what's down there. It's about "voting's the best revenge".It's about "punish[ing] our enemies".It's about "get[ting] in their face".It's not about finance or tax law. It isn't even about winning elections. It's about consolidating power. Quote
