Dr T Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Ok, starting 7/1/13, I will be cut to .5 FTE, two nurses have been fired, one PA, fired, pharmacist fired, dentist fired, aod counselor fired and I will only work 20 hours a week. I will be losing $80,000 dollars in this cut in hours. I will lose my insurance for me and my family so will need to move to a new job. Quote
Maureen Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Sorry for your bad news Dr. T. I will send you good thoughts and prayers. M. Quote
LilyBelle00 Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I'm really sorry to hear that. I've been feeling sorry for myself all day because I didn't get the promotion that I wanted, but I guess it could be a lot worse. Best of luck. Quote
talisyn Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Sounds like a bloodbath! I hope you find a better job soon. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Youch! I seem to remember you bringing this up here before--wasn't this because your immediate superior did something financially stupid, contra your advice? Best of luck to you. That really stinks. Quote
Dr T Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Yes Just A Guy. I saw it coming, tried to warn, lots of people have to jump ship now or they were fired. She now say, "We will do it this way now and review it in 3 months." "I'm not firing you just cutting back hours." Riiiiight. I wasn't fired but am also not willing to leave my family without insurance for 3 months and things will be changing in my house with this big drop in $. I have already found another job, way less pay, way more stressful and working with prisoners. I'd do what needs to be done as long as I'm able. We'll see how it goes. Quote
prisonchaplain Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I pray that this turns into a true promotion... Quote
NeuroTypical Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I have already found another job, way less pay, way more stressful and working with prisoners.I pray that this turns into a true promotion...I'm only guessing here, but I think Prisonchaplain may be hinting at the additional possibility of non-financial compensation here. If not, let me advance the notion.Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Quote
Dr T Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Great point PC AND LM. I am thankful for that input on this. Drastic pay cut, walking difficulties, leaving wealth to a new unknown are my concerns but it is true "What you have done to the least of these..." thank you for that reframe. Quote
pam Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Dr T what is it you do? He's a psychologist. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Anyone who needs a psycologist should have his head examined. Quote
