prisonchaplain Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Since 2015 is the Year of the Sheep, should not the followers of the Lamb of God expect great things? Surely, this is a season to be praying, to be sharing our faith, to 'never tire in doing good works, and to always be found 'about the Father's business.' Or...Am I just trying to Christianize an Asian pagan system of fortune telling??? Backroads, Vort and Jane_Doe 3 Quote
PolarVortex Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 You may have something there. But given Peter's denial of our Lord, one wonders about the significance of the Year of the Rooster, and whether 2017 will be a year of betrayals, forsaking, and abandonment. I thought about trying to find a girlfriend in 2015, and your post gave me the idea of seeing what the Chinese zodiac might predict for me this year. It said the following about my sign: "Their romantic life will not be very good in 2015; therefore, single people should not get their hopes up." (Really. Google it if you don't believe me.) Crypto Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 Taking the same symbol with differing context an meaning and merging them? Sounds good to me :-) Quote

prisonchaplain Posted January 5, 2015 Author Report Posted January 5, 2015 Ironically, growing up I would never actually read my fortune cookies. I always made up a saying that I wanted to be true--usually one with Christian-sounding undertones. Maybe I haven't grown up. Palerider 1 Quote

MrShorty Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 I notice that Wikipedia calls it the year of the goat, with further explanation that it the goat sign is sometimes called sheep or ram. So maybe it is about separating the sheep from the goats. PolarVortex and Blackmarch 2 Quote
Traveler Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 The truth is - that all things are possible to them that believe. If you believe you can or believe you cannot - you are right. The Zodiac has nothing to do with it. Quote

Hehe. well great and terrible are supposed to be the last days....But on the funky side I've heard that there is small ancient culture in china that has had prophetic legends about a christlike figure, which i do want to learn more about.
