The question on the Christian beliefs section got me questioning... What is prayer like for the LDS?  FOr instance, this Saturday I was at our ladies' prayer breakfast.  We shared our needs and blessings.  But the we had a special time of prayer just adoring God for who He is and for His love.  DO the LDS ever pray like that?  Just as a time for adoring God and loving on Him?

I talk to God about everything.

Last night I prayed thanking God for how wonderful my life is right now: thanking Him for the great health of my family, my awesome job, my growing learning of the Gospel.  I spent several minutes just expressing hugs-and-love, because I love the Lord and am so grateful for Him and all He does.

I woke up this morning, looked at my To-Do-List, and thought "Wow!!  How I am I ever going to get this all done?"  I then prayed for help getting it all done.

Last week I was stumped on a secular work problem, and prayed for inspiration to conquer the problem, and God gave me the answer.

Yesterday at church I had a Gospel question, and I prayed for His guidance on it, and He gave me direction.

Lots of things to pray about!

"To adore" means "to worship". We do indeed worship God in prayer and in act. If you mean do we spend much time saying, "God, you are one fine specimen of Godliness! Yes, indeed! You ROCK, God!" -- then no, I don't think we do much of that.

We are often encouraged to have prayer that focuses on gratitude; to occasionally have a prayer that only expresses gratitude.

So true....everything we have is because of him....a prayer of thanks is a wonderful prayer.
