So as a new convert in a YSA ward i have a lot to learn.

One of my friends said they recveied revalation that she will date this boy (happend to be a missionary that sevred in our YSA and will be going home soon if that matters) is this possible? What can we reveive revalation about?

It's possible.

However, that doesn't mean that is what happened.  I've seen that this happens rarely, but more often, it is as Sunday states...one's own emotions are speaking more than anything else.

That does not mean it doesn't occur though.  We have one individual here @anatess2 who I believe stated that when she saw her future husband she knew that he was the one she would marry or something to that effect.

Congrats, and welcome to the fold. What is the purpose of the Spirit? To testify of truth! God is able to reveal all things pertaining to our faith, and our ability to receive it. As a single adult, I had a "foolish" notion that if I was attracted to a girl, I would ask her out if I saw her three times without seeking her out, and I did. The reality, I was scared the first two times, and by the third time, I finally had enough courage to ask her and not loose an opportunity. The notion I came up with was more of a way to mask my fear.

Yes, this is possible. Faith precedes the miracle. If one's faith is such that God is able to reveal a specific aspect in our lives, God can do so and we can listen. I think also, receiving a revelation to "date" a boy/girl is very different than receiving a revelation to "marry" a boy/girl. I also wouldn't wait for an impression to date a boy/girl. We are intelligence of action. When we act, God is able to turn darkness into light (so to speak).

The Spirit of revelation is very important in our lives. Here are some questions for you to consider:

1) Is God able to communicate, via dreams, a person you will marry?

2) Is God able to impress upon people's minds to get to know specific people over other people?

3) Is God able to reveal all truth?

4) What is stewardship, and are we able to receive revelation according to stewardship?

The answer to all of these is YES. The Spirit of revelation can reveal all things past, all things present, and all things future. The real question for ourselves, what are we personally able to receive, and are ready to receive it?

You can receive it about yourself, and if it includes others one has to keep in mind that we are all independent. So it doesn’t mean it will happen because she has choices and so does he.

I agree with one comment that sometimes we can get caught up with our own thoughts and emotions that can manifest and be interpreted as some sign from above.

It is possible. So is individual agency running against it! I think the communication of heavenly intelligence is only the first part of revelation (revealing what we are to exercise faith in); its realization by willing parties is the second part (revealing what we become as a result of exercising faith).

That is correct.  I saw him for the first time across the room and I said to myself - this is the guy I'm going to marry.  But things didn't just fall into place.  We were friends for 2 years - not dating, just friends.  He was constantly out of town for his job, I had a full-time job and spent my free time working to place Bosnian refugees.  He was inactive Mormon, I was devout Catholic.  Marriage was far from a possibility.  We lived our own lives and we got to know each other better just by being friends - when he's in town he helped me with the Bosnians and we did things we do in common - watch movies and play video games with all our common friends.  This was before cellphones were in vogue.  Anyway, this was 2 years worth of me doing things that improved myself and getting to know him better, not expecting we're actually gonna get married.  Then, out of the blue, he asked me to go with him somewhere - just him and me, I'm not supposed to invite anybody else.  That was when he took me to his church.  It was the very first time he stepped into a ward building since he left the church when he was only 17.  That night he asked me to marry him.  He felt he needed to go back to church before he is "qualified" for marriage.  I was reminded of that revelation I received a couple years before and even after 2 years of getting to know the guy, it was still there, so... I said yes that same night and we got married 2 weeks later.  That was 20 years and 2 kids ago.

She might throw herself at him and convince him to go on a date with her. That's not revelation.
