Terrifying. I'm glad your family is ok!

What if you won millions of dollars in a lottery?
talisyn replied to bcguy's topic in General Discussion
I'm thinking the sheriff released the picture in order to get sympathy for the woman. Kind've a 'Sorry we couldn't help you more at the time'. But it really shouldn't have been released. If I had a million dollars...I'd buy some mac and cheese for my baybeees. Yeah even on the internet I can't sing lol. -
Just a little encouragement ^^ Everyone Can Help Make Breastfeeding Easier, Surgeon General Says in ?Call to Action?

Whatever you chose, make sure you drink a lot of water. Dehydration is a milk killer! I always know when I'm dehydrated from how much milk I pump at work. Btw, I use a Medela Lactina electric pump I rent from a local medical supply company, it's great! But at $80/month until insurance picks it up it's a little pricey for home use lol.

I think Russia is being Russia lol. Plain and simple. Orwell had to get the stuff for 1984 from somewhere after all.

It's a wonder to me why people will take jobs that are around $3.00/hr with the hope of tips. But then again you have people who work on sales commissions, too.

I don't object to tipping, but if I'm helping to make payroll then I want partnership rights

Alexander Neibaur's diary was published at one of those vanity places for the family, idk where it can be found. I wish there was a place you can find pioneer diaries and histories, instead of having to search all over or just stumbling across them. My ggggrandfather was one of the first Jews to join the Church, I'm sure there are others with equally neat stories to tell.

Yeah. It seems like now people (mostly my daughter and nephews) take computer stuff for granted, it's as much a part of them as breathing. I remember programming on a commodore, it thrilled me to no end when I figured out how to change font colors
-
LM, you have to remember it in the context of it's time. This was before the internet, before computers became household appliances like a stove or fridge. And this was when programmers were demigods. Tron fits the era perfectly.

35? I'd say more closer to 28. Happy belated birthday, Pam!

Merry Christmas!

I love old diaries, they are great treasures. My great-great-grandfather Alexander Neibaur kept one that told of his family coming to the U.S. through the Mississippi, his life in Nauvoo, his tragic loss of children on the trek to Utah (made me cry), and his life in Utah. Epic stuff. I believe his diary is now at that pioneer museum by the capitol in SLC.

Wait, the program comes out of the portal and becomes human? I can see maybe the human going into the system because our brains are filled with electronic impulses, etc. But making a whole human out of nothing but electrical energy seems a bit much. You can't get proteins and mitochondria out of the air >< I loved the original movie, very edgy for it's time

I'm still looking for those Temple Square shot glasses Bro. Kirby wrote about a few years ago in the SLTrib.

I enjoyed the essay until I got to I'm not a Freemason

It's important to be independent. It's important to be able to support yourself economically and emotionally. However...you must be able to trust your chosen partner with your heart. You have to learn how to rely on your husband. You must allow your heart to soften a bit or all you'll get is a vague sense of something missing. Speaking of my own situation, after my ex left I became completely independent and made the choices for my tiny family. But I met my eventual husband and had to crack open my toughness and allow a certain amount of vulnerability. It's been a process this past year and a half and we're doing really good, but I have to stop myself from trying to take over and just do things because that's what I would do, and instead seek his input. I hope this helped! And you'll be fine.

>< That's terrible.

My parents had a bishop once who thought my dad and dad's cousin were having an affair. The bishop didn't know they were cousins, but eeewww. Point is, don't let this guy keep you and your family from becoming an eternal family. Congrats on the new job, and try some gov't assistance programs if you aren't already. They are filled with snooty people but those people won't make you feel like leaving the church lol. WIC in particular is awesome. At least now you know the kind of person your bishop is

I always look people in the eyes. That way you can get out of the way when they pounce. I had a great ex-husband

Wow some people are sooooo cranky when others don't agree with them and have the nerve to voice opposing opinions. Let's everyone say what grade they got in their econ classes, and only those who got A's will be heard. Oh wait, that means people would have to listen to opposing opinions People see things differently, which is great and makes for cheap entertainment. God, our Father and Creator, made us all and loves us - Dems and Reps, Commies and Anarchists, and everyone in between. Let's try, in the Spirit of the Season, to acknowledge that not everyone that disagrees with you is a dunderhead ><

Church Statement regarding Switzerland Missionaries
talisyn replied to pam's topic in Current Events
I thought they were booting non-EU missionaries...I prob should read the article better Read it againand it was about non-EU people. From Hordak's link Sounds like it's time for our brothers and sisters in Switzerland to go to the next level of 'Every Member a Missionary' -
That's kind've insulting to the employers . There are a bunch who will pay their employees what they are worth, despite what the company down the street will pay.

I worked for Wal-Mart a few years ago and I was amazed at how much they didn't mark up from wholesale. They are a volume-driven store, not a margin-driven store. But there is indeed a dark side to knowing what stuff is worth wholesale. My mom made jewelry for ages and bought from wholesalers. So yeah, I know how much the pretty things in the jewelry counter cost to make, and will very rarely buy that kind of merchandise from those stores
