  1. I totally disagree lol. They are not interchangable. One lists problems with England, and the other is the guidelines for the government of the USA.
  2. A playoff would be great. Here's why Boise State will not be in the top 10 for 2011, btw Boise BCS blocked - College Football - Rivals.com
  3. Update to Large Hadron Collider Halted By Bird Crumbs - Inventions | Patents | New Inventions | Innovation - FOXNews.com Once again the future is saved.
  4. So..link the youtube vid where Obama says there are 57 states, I'd laugh at that one too As for the Constitution and Declaration of Independence mix-up, I'd say that's a pretty big goof, considering the 2 documents have 2 different purposes and target audience. I will give him this though, the Declaration of Independence starts out a lot prettier ^^
  5. Destroyed families? CFR por favor Especially the implications that all families were hale and hearty before the War on Poverty.
  6. Did you see the 2 guys behind him laughing?
  7. awesome. I think the audience reaction was the funniest part. You can tell who's watched Glenn Beck and who hasn't.
  8. WB! Well, one could say evil is going against the natural order of things. After all, God created a universe bound by laws, so going against these laws would be going against what is right. Also, thinking of God once being what we are now implies a whole chain of creations and laws, and I'd be willing to guess there was always opposition (for whatever reason) to that. I don't think it's a chicken and egg thing though. I believe good has been in existence far longer than evil. Just look at the Garden of Eden, there's no telling how long Adam and Eve lived before the Fall.
  9. Oddly enough...nope not going to go there...
  10. Yes, the Book of Mormon is scripture. The US Constitution was a fine ship err I mean it's a great document. But I think the USA is better served by people staying calm rather than running around yelling the sky is falling. It's been falling since the socialists invented social security, so I think we're pretty safe.
  11. He apparently was going to Afghanistan. Or Iraq. My Army sister and brothers knew people who would deliberately injure themselves so they wouldn't have to go until healed...maybe he decided to make sure he'd never get sent there.
  12. I don't doubt it either. Once my daughter learned to write she went on a huge writing campaign. She was about 6 as well. I think the people saying it's fake never had kids
  13. Still no sympathy for the slave owners. I would have to agree with the comments about the slaves making the best of a bad situation, be it comfort to those around them or passive-aggressive behavior, but that's all I agree with. The idea that abolitionists cause slavery to last longer? Absurd. What were they suppose to do when faced with inhumane treatment of fellow humans, wait until the slave owners said 'Gee this just isn't cost effective so we're gonna send all our slaves to Hawaii as reward for their labor'? It's an insulting theory, inaccurate at best. Advances in agriculture, making it cost effective to own vast amounts of land thus necessitating cheap labor, is what stopped slavery from dying a 'natural' death, not abolitionists. Changed, most Southern slave owners were Christian. They knew full well what they were doing was wrong yet they did it anyways. I wouldn't want to be them either, but then I wouldn't have been like them at all, anyways!
  14. Excuse me for a moment, I think I got something in my eye.... What a sweet and wonderful daughter, and what wonderful parents who raised her that way.
  15. *sigh* I wish I could get people interested in that up here, but it seems mostly everyone is on the computer
  16. Yeah, I bet the house was a newbie, too. Scary though!
  17. What I find incredibly sad is that someone thought the lot of slave owners was at least equal to that of their human property.
  18. To be completely truthful moderate Dems don't seem to have much of a place in the Democratic party either. Maybe the mods in both parties could combine into a new party and overthrow the radicals on both sides?
  19. In certain circles, a 53%-47% victory would be considered a mandate for change
  20. That set of laws was awesome too, and proved to me that people have an innate sense of justice no matter what time period. Of course this is depending on an accurate translation
  21. I think Dems have the Boston cream pies, Moksha. I will grant that the Reps seem to have emergency preparedness down, but I think it's because Dems are pretty lazy about practical matters like that. Large weapons collections in Idaho are pretty evenly split, per capita. My gramma's a union Dem and has over 100 guns
  22. I know exactly what an American is, Sixpacktr. Americans look and act amazingly like everyone around me, and I see one every time I look in the mirror. The US constitution is a great living document, and I do believe it's inspired. However, I also believe the Magna Carta is inspired as well, with the desired result the Restoration of the fullness of the gospel. Accomplishment achieved, let the latter-days roll!
  23. Sure, the Democrats will take in the suddenly homeless moderate Republicans. At least until they get their home back. No one can do a bbq or pumpkin pie like a good Republican
  24. People who need help paying for healthcare don't vote often. People who don't need help vote with their pocketbook. Lobbyists have the ears of those we elect to govern us. And that is America today.
