I would love to hear your wife's side of this story

You know, it's messed up statements like this that make it hard to have decent conversations on this forum.

This is officially my favorite thread about dead socialist leaders

This sums up my view. My 13 yr old and I were discussing this the other day, she couldn't understand how I can be against gay marriage, and for gay marriage, all at the same time. I had to explain that this life has many challenges for us, and some will be challenged by same-sex attraction. These people want love and to be loved, and it's very hard when there is no really good secular reason for them to not marry and then be prohibited from marrying. It's up to us as Saints to tell the world about the plan of salvation, the eternal nature of the family, and God's love for His children so that everyone can make up their own mind knowing all the facts. She said that made it hard for us, too, because we then look like the bad guys. Educating others is how I fight the good fight.

There is no law in Idaho that says the left lane is for passing or faster traffic. In fact, I would say that 75 mph is faster traffic. Customary practices don't make a law. If cops would enforce speeding laws this wouldn't have happened. That said, I believe the law in this woman's state is stay to the right unless passing.

Have you actually read this thread???????????

Me, too!!! I have a small mouth and I can't even pronounce some of the words that I've been accused of saying (not necessarily on this site ).

I love the early days of the restored church! There was so much going on, and such an amazing amount of revelation, like a river of knowledge pouring upon the Saints. I've wondered how much knowledge was given and then taken away for a time and then restored (like priesthood for all worthy men), and what hasn't come back yet (like plural marriage).

I didn't know I was that important in the continuous war for liberty. You totally made staying up with a sick toddler more interesting :) I was speaking hypothetically, of course. Communism is an incredibly unsustainable form of government and not one I advocate. I do think that those who declare for that ideal should be living the standards they set for others (i.e. no palaces or multi-billion $ checking accounts).

Hoosier, I prefer the CIA when it comes to the world outside of the USA https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ve.html

Silly Hoosier. By their fruits ye shall know them, or something like that. Oil companies, Wall Street, and Big World Business are the paragons of virtue that we would be wise to emulate. I, personally, am glad that corporations are getting the personhood recognition they rightly deserve. They champion greater economic equality throughout the world by sending jobs from the unappreciative American workers to those who are grateful to work for wages higher than average in their nations. They tried so very hard a decade ago to give the gift of home ownership to Americans who otherwise wouldn't be able to gather up a suitable down payment, instead putting that onerous amount much later into the mortgage at only $3,000/month for a few years. They try to open roadless wilderness areas, superficially for oil drilling, but for the benefit of families who would be able to take their children to see parts of the beautiful Alaska wilderness that haven't been explored for centuries from the comfort of their cars/SUVs. They even try to help us with our retirement! 401Ks and pensions that rely on the stock market have made us more informed on how important it is to take responsibility for our investments, with the understanding that a stock that was trading at amazing highs can change to total losses in a matter of moments, and when that happens it's our fault we lose money for not selling at that millisecond of change. Hugo Chavez was not my ideal communist dictator. I really don't think he was even communist. But I do believe he did a lot for the people of his country that he did not have to do, like nationalizing oil. After all, who wants their country to look like this: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ni.html

What? Did you actually read what Anne said, or did you just see her name and decide she's wrong? How is voting for people who you think will not be corrupt encourage corruption in government?

President Hinckley quoted at chaplains' site???

Pres. Uch(can't spell his name to save my life) has popped up in a lot of facebook memes, anyone else notice this? -
I admit to my own Pharisee tendencies, like not using the really good vanilla, instead using some brown vanillaish alcohol-free stuff when I bake cookies, in case some person who may or may not look like me wants to eat cookie dough. I think another example (from my own family) is how my caffeine-free soda family is still insistent that caffeine in soda is still against the spirit of the word of wisdom I think it's easy to follow rules instead of following the reasons behind the rules. Requires less thinking. Speaking of thinking, what does this mean: I'm thinking of tornadoes O.o

I think the only problem with temp color hair would be with temple baptisms. Most of the colors wash out with water and I'd hate to think of what the baptismal water and white clothes would look like with blue or green hair dye ><

Orson Scott Card's Superman comic causes a furor
talisyn replied to Windseeker's topic in General Discussion
I really don't like DC Comics..at all lol. But I'm glad they are sticking with creativity at least unless the comic doesn't sell well -
It's too bad you don't go to my ward. I'm sure seeing my 41 yr old self with a full head of blue and red hair will make her decide only old women do crazy colors I'd say, like everyone else, choose your battles. If this is something important to you then she needs to understand that. It is true that colored streaks is very popular right now, this may be a good time to teach about why one shouldn't always follow the crowd?

I like the idea of a box or folders to keep the adorable things the kids create <3 I think it's important to realize you don't have to have everything perfect all the time. You can have drawings on the fridge, on the coffee table, and you'll still be a good example. In my house pictures have a shelf life of how long Gwendolyn leaves them alone lol.

If this were my situation I would casually mention my husband's homosexuality helping him to have a greater feeling of the art of his work, without any lusty thoughts interrupting the purity. But that's just me.

I love Nivea Creme. But it must be the creme in the blue jar, not the lotion.

Feeling unloved in my Patriarchal Blessing
talisyn replied to Faith_Grace's topic in General Discussion
Patriarchal blessings are funny little things, are they not? Mine told me 'a way would be found' for me to have a family and the blessings of the temple. You have no idea what that did to my self-esteem lol. Or, maybe you do *^.^*~
