  1. Gramps,
I see Nephilim is made up of Nephi and lim, any significance?
How did Nephilims or giants survive the flood?
Is it possible one of the three wives of the three brothers of Noah has those genes?
David and Goliath was one of my favorite stories as a kid and I believe it truly happened. How big were these giants?
    Thanks Scott

  2. Dear Gramps, I've had something come up in my mind, rock music, my favorite genre of music, some argue that it's plain evil and should be banned, others don't really bother and embrace it, I'm wondering if i'm on a bad path because of rock music specifically the kind of the "Guilty Gear" Video game series. Please do respond ASAP.

    Have a good day/night.

I don't mean to speak for Grunt.  But I'll add my 2 cents.

Maybe vengeful is not the precise word for it.  It would be almost sinister.

    If we believe:

    • In Ex Nihilo creation.  This means that God purposefully created every single aspect of our being, good and evil.
    • God is all knowing from the beginning to the end of time
    • He has set up the universe in one giant, perfectly synchronous clock that will simply move the way He pre-designed it to move.

    Then we must conclude:

    • We don't really have free will.  God made us exactly as we are when we're born.  He gave us the circumstances to which we would react and by which we learn good or evil.  And we react in perfect harmony of God's predictions/desires for our eternal destiny.
    • By our experience here which God designed, some people will go to hell.  God wills it so.  He created them for the purpose of going to hell.  This is the concept that we might call sinister.

That is why we don't believe in ex nihilo creation -- in addition to the fact that we have prophecy that tells us differently.

Creatio ex nihilo is actually the belief of creating something out of nothing. Which is why we don't believe in it.

Yes this was the part I was confused about. Most mormons say they are Christians, but everyone else I talked to says they are not. I'm not say who is or isn't right I'm trying to figure that out.

I hadn't realized I placed conditions on responses but knowing me I probably did accidentally. Very sorry about that. Unfortunately I don't have a way to contact a missionary. Thank for responding though.

If you go to this website, you can request to have missionaries contact you.  https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist

Meanwhile, everyone whose family has been eating stuffing cooked inside a turkey for longer than you've been alive, without getting food poisoning from it, please raise your hands. :)

    "can" != "will"

Cook the thing right and you've got nothing to worry about.  (We're seriously in need of another world war to set our worry priorities straight. :P )

We quit doing it years and years ago because of the warnings regarding stuffing turkeys.

So, I got to thinking about the Wheel of Time.

"Saving magic" was exactly what the wizarding guild wanted to happen.  But the imposter was evil and gave a procedure to the heroes that would "taint" magic.

It could be used by evil people to do evil things.  But when it is used for good, something evil always comes with it (Monkey's Paw).

My son keeps telling me I need to watch this. I haven't even made it past the first episode. So far hasn't caught my attention. But he says to stay with it.

I feel the same way about all those movies. Bizarrely, I had someone rant on my FB about how good Top Gun was and how everyone “Patriotic American” has a “requirement” to see the movie. All I could think of was “Really?”

I won't see it because it has Tom Cruise in it.

That's an interesting question.  I just figured out that I've gone to see only three movies in the theater in about five years.  I don't really remember the last time I went to the cinema before that.

    If you're curious:

    • Top Gun: Maverick
    • D&D: Honor Among Theives
    • Avengers: Endgame

Absolutely no desire to see any of them.

I’ve been addicted to pornography since I was prepubescent. Struggled with it all my life. I was sealed in the Temple in my early 20s even with my addiction. I was divorced and years later I am remarried and looking to be sealed to my new wife with whom we have worked harder than we ever have to live the gospel. I’ve continued to struggle with my addiction. But I’ve been trying harder than I ever have before and I can feel the improvement in my spiritual life. Is there a time frame to wait before I can be sealed again?

That's definitely something we can't answer.  That's a question for your local leaders who have stewardship over you.
