Interesting thought, but highly doubt they were passed down as such. Garments don't last 2000 years or more, but an intriguing thought.

Some folks get a huge kick out of tightrope walking, chainsaw juggling, wingsuit death-defying jumps, etc.  All of my insides would swiftly be outside of me if I tried any of that.  I guess there are people who can manage it, but those people are not me.

From everything described I am more sympathetic to the Stake President.  My wife is YW president in our ward and is a bit fed up with having to entertain the girls.  When they organize service activities a couple show up.  When it is a pool party or social event they come in droves. All the girls are slacking on personal progress.  Seems like the youth don't "get" what being a member of Christ's Church really means...just another social club for some of them.

There is a veil that separates this life from the next life.  True; although the veil has multiple meanings or as some shared here "degrees" that can be removed.
Only priesthood power has the ability to allow  passage through a veil. This from my understanding, as of right now, is correct.
The spirit world is divided into Paradise and Prison. The prison is as much literal as figurative in that those in spirit prison would have to be limited in their sphere of movement and association because they were not preached the Gospel until after Christ had died on the cross.
The spirit world is divided into two parts paradise and prison; although these parts are more figurative than literal. The Earth is the spirit world, and probably the two parts have more to do with the same notion on earth, people choose who they congregate with. Those in paradise will congregate with those in paradise, and vice-versa.
I am not sure regarding a "limitation" regarding movement within the spirit world as to who they associate with. I gather it is by personal choice. As of now, it appears correct from scripture that the gospel wasn't preached until Christ was resurrected and visited the spirit world (those in paradise state of mind and heart).
The only un-embodied spirits roaming the earth on our side of the veil are Satan and his hosts. I think your term "roaming" is where I find my hesitation to agree. Gabriel who visited Mary was an un-embodied spirit (unless of course we know not of his translated state). I am in understanding that both those in paradise and prison are able to "roam" the earth. The difference, those in paradise will only interact as given authority to do so. Those in prison (if they can act like Satan's minions -- fallen angels), they only have power according to the moral agency of humankind, and what the sons and daughters allow.
That only messengers from God that visit from the pre-mortal and post-mortal realms can do so only because they are authorized by priesthood power.
I am not sure this is accurate. Those who follow God will not act without his permission in these realms. This doesn't mean they couldn't by choice interact without authority given. They act with authority given because they choose to follow God. Thus a proper order is kept through righteous choice and discipline. (thus we have ways to tell good spirits from bad spirits, or better said from resurrected beings, the spirit of the just, and the spirits of the unjust)
I am in understanding the spirits of the unjust are under the same obligations but simply do not care and will move upon the earth until God commands otherwise and they must obey.

In the Church Handbook of Instructions, in all these cases, we are informed that all things will be worked out by a perfect loving Father in Heaven. Your first wife specifically asked you to move on. As a man is able to be sealed to more than one woman, and if this is her desire to be sealed to you, I wouldn't withhold such from her -- assuming the Lord confirms to both of you that this is the correct path (and that you truly love her).
The other option for you is if you are concerned about your sealing to your first wife, then you can choose to marry someone only in this life, and thus only date women who are not looking to be sealed to their spouse.
Personally, option #1 is better -- a random guy's opinion on the internet.

For some reason, this often doesn’t seem to be the case in the Church.  Then-elders Nelson and Oaks each remarried within two years of their first wives’ deaths.

Dallin H. Oakes married & is sealed to both women. So, yes, you can be sealed to your bride-to-be. You will have to make arrangements to do so in the temple, talk with your Bishop and make sure your bride to be has received her endowment before hand.
No, it won't leave wife #1 out in the *cold*, BUT it is my understanding that during the millennium, if she doesn't agree to have the 2nd wife in your family unit, then wife #1's wishes will be honored.

Yes, I will always consider my deceased wife to be my EC, but I love my fiancee.  I'm her first husband, so it's not as if she has an EC waiting for her.  JAG hit the nail on the head: it's a prayerful contemplation in the Temple type thing.

I should think that would be primarily a matter of personalities.  I suppose the best approach would be to take it to the Lord like any other question.  Presumably He wouldn’t tell you to go forward with a temple sealing if it were contrary to the plan He had for you and your deceased wife.

This occurred back in the 1980's, so take it for what you will.

And just as stated, the man could have fought the issue even then. Instead, he chose to sustain his stake president in his calling. I guess I would ask the question, which choice results in the greater blessings?

All young men and young women activities should have a gospel centered purpose. This is what I hear your stake president saying. If the young men and young women activities are not gospel centered, then in a sense, it is looking beyond the mark; although, looking beyond the mark is much more severe than a non-gospel centered activity.
We can go and have fun anytime on our own dime. If we are using Church funded monies for an activity then they need to be within the guidelines the Church has established. So, can going to the spa or playing board games be within the boundaries set by the Church leaders (Handbook) -- yes. Can going to the spa and board games not be within the boundaries set by the Church -- yes.
If you are following the guidelines, then I would agree with @Fether, local leadership thoughts and opinions, do not supersede those who have the keys and provide instruction to the Church as a whole.

Years ago there was a very faithful and loving man in our ward who had a really large beard. When it came time to renew his temple recommend, the new stake president stated that he would not sign the recommend unless he was clean shaven.

This man showed up at church with a clean shaven face and told us the story. One of the members mentioned that he didn't have to do that and that the stake president had no right to demand such a thing as there was no church policy against facial hair. Several nodded and agreed with that assessment.

This man rebuked them and said, "Hey, I raised my hand to sustain this man as the stake president and thought that you all did the same."

The truth of your situation is that your stake president was called of God to preside over your stake at this time. You will either sustain him in this calling or you will not.

Im not one to disobey leadership, but I’m also not one to take the word of a stake president over the word of the entire church.

If he wants all activities ended, I would approach him with this and say “I’m just trying to do what the Prophets and Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints want me to do”
...maybe a bit less guilty-tripy... but you get the point
I am all for respect, but don’t bow to direction that isn’t supported higher up.
SIDE NOTE: That is IF all your saying is true. If you just misinterpreted his direction or are embellishing things, then maybe take a different direction. But either way I would approach him and let him know your concerns and share with him that link I posted above.
