Apparently one of the vandals filed a personal injury lawsuit back in September claiming that 2009 car crash injured his back and cause him to "endure great pain and suffering, disability, impairment, loss of joy of life." True that. Just the fact that the videotaped it in the first place is a good indication of their true intents. -

I think you are right. Since I made my original post today the number of hits on the YouTube-video has almost doubled to 1.5 million. It's no way they can remain as scout leaders with so much bad publicity. -
Three LDS Boy Scouts troop leaders are in legal trouble after toppling over a rock formation in Goblin Valley State Park. They decided to post their misdeed on their Facebook but later removed the video after somebody warned them about potential legal trouble. The copy of the video posted by SLC Tribune on YouTube appears to have gone viral with 800k+ views since yesterday. The term 'monogamy' is not restricted to the describing the principle of single marriage. Merriam-Webster does include (1) "the condition or practice of having a single mate during a period of time" and (2) "the state or practice of having only one sexual partner during a period of time" in the definition of 'monogamy'. Monogamy - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary The term is also being used to describe social pairing in animal mating systems. Monogamy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I do believe that my daughter will be wearing some kind of "Monster High" outfit. I usually wear a full-body gorilla suit and my white schnauzer wearing a banana outfit. So if you see a gorilla walking a banana on Halloween -- that's me.

1. I use my teeth to remove one the cookie disks from the rest of the Oreo and I eat it. 2. I scrape off the filling from the remaining cookie disk using my teeth. 3. I eat the leftover cookie disk.

I agree. Most roads in American cities are not made with bicycles in mind. It is considerable more dangerous for missionaries to bike on streets than driving in cars. I guess the church made a cost-benefit analysis when taking away the cars for the missions and thought it was worth it.

Interview concerns
Swiper replied to clej's topic in Learn about The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints
I have personal friends who have been able sit in on their children's interviews. They refused to allow their children to be interviewed without one of the parents being present and stuck to their guns. Their bishops accepted the demands and allowed a parent to be present. -
Another missionary death. This is the 13th death this year. I can't help thinking that the church are sending them out way too young and inexperienced. LDS missionary hit and killed by vehicle in Calif. | ksl.com

Didn't plan to. Ended up having the Saturday sessions playing in the background and caught Uchtdorf's talk. I really liked his talk so I listened to a few others. While I really liked Holland's talk the rest of the talks left me rather dismayed. President Uchtdorf urged me to come back; Elder Oaks reminded me why I never will.
-
So what was your impression of General Conference? Which talks did you enjoy the most? Did you find any talk particularly inspiring or perhaps troubling? I did enjoy the talks from President Uchtdorf and Elder Holland. All other talks, not so much.

Fine. I haven't noticed anything that impacts myself or my family. I work for the U.S. government but are not impacted by the shutdown.

The paying damages portion appears to be related to the school's failure to adhere to a previous court agreement. Most courts takes a very dim view on contempt of court. Anyhow, I suspect that many who think that the school was right to have a picture of Jesus hanging in the "Hall of Honor" would also be the ones peeing their pants and having a raving fit if it was a picture of Mohammad, Buddha, Krishna, Xenu, or another non-Christian religious entity hanging there instead.

On the nose. I have a 10-year old daughter struggling with mental illness since the age of five. I was far from pleased after reading the original post and will refrain from further participation in this thread.

I do not pay tithing, but I put $10-$20 in the offering plate on Sundays depending on how much the "Charity of the Month" tugs my heart strings.

Will we be with our beloved pets in heaven?
Swiper replied to ChronoTrigger's topic in General Discussion
I do 100% agree with Mark Twain: "The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man's." ~ Mark Twain -
I watch them all the times. I think it is foolish to make a blanket rule of "no watching R-rated movies". I believe that every movie should be judged on its own merits. There are movies rated R that ought to be seen by all adults (like Schindler's List) and there are movies rated PG or PG-13 that shouldn't be seen by anyone.
