  1. Pam, just because you are the "Head Moderator" doesn't mean you can go into other peoples account and leave these types of messages.havejoy, your account must have been hacked by Pam, that is the only excuse....................................................unless you're older than Pam!!!!!
  2. Just to show you all how out of touch I am, I thought this was some sort of video game. I still use IE but am onto version 9 now. It does what I need it to, and that's good enough for me.
  3. Are you saying that men are sh........whoa, close one.I've always heard that men were pigs. of course, pigs roll in sh......whew!!
  4. Either golf (nothing like beating the crap out of a little white ball) or I go for a drive (and enjoy the sound of my Hemi poluting the atmosphere ). Seriously though, everyone is different. My wife will scrapbook or paint, and my brother will supress it until he can no longer take it. We are waiting for him to explode any day now.
  5. Of course not Maureen. You're already there. You do live in Edmonton, right?? :p:p
  6. There will always be religious groups around and the trend to not affiliate with them, will eventually plateau. However, this is showing this trend for people further away from their religious background and to more of a secular belief. How long before we become the persecuted and taunted (I mean all religions)? I see some of that starting now, but it will only get stronger. How long before basic rights and freedoms are taken away from those who are religious? It is a disturbing trend to say the least.
  7. As I read through the article, I came to the conclusion that it doesn't mean that religion will die out, but that people will no longer affiliate with religions as they have in the past. Some people will even deny that they are a religious person. Some will turn their backs on their religion. They stated the Ireland stats and although it was only 4% unaffiliated, it was a big jump from when they first kept track of religion. It is becoming cool to not be religious, and that, to me, is alarming.
  8. I found this article on CNN this morning claiming that religion will die out in 9 countries. Organized religion 'will be driven toward extinction' in 9 countries, experts predict – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs It is following a trend in society to not be affiliated with any religion. What are your thoughts?
  9. This is going to sound a little harsh, but....... You need to man up and tell your wife. Your kids will be fine and they will see that you own up to your mistakes and not try to hide them from people. Sorry to come across as harsh, but that's how I feel.
  10. Well, I mean, who would give a credit card to someone who's collateral is gum drop buttons?!?!?!?!
  11. It better not!!!!!!!!!! I just boooked our holiday this summer and paid for it!!! How am I supposed to get money back for a trip I couldn't take when the world ends? Hm????
  12. One thing I would like to share. When me and my wife went through this in October (the still birth of our son), the one phrase that started to annoy me was "Is there anything I can do?". I know that this is everyone's first instinct, but in all honesty, we had no idea what could be done. We were in such shock, that we could hardly think about what was needed. The best thing that people did for us was just show up with food, talked and then let us know that they were there if we needed to talk. A couple of months after our event, a friend of ours found out their daughter had lukemia. We didn't ask them what they needed, we bought them a hospital parking pass and took books in for their daughter to read. It was not requested, but it was things that were needed. I hope this helps SF. My sincere condolences to you and your friends.
  13. How many Volkswagens killed people because of a known safety defect? Um, the Detroit 3 actually did quite bad during "Cash for Clunkers". All the Japanese imports did better. Again, I beleive Honda was the biggest winner during that program. Also, Ford, which the government has no stake in, was the Detroit 3 manufacture that posted the most gains. So because GM benefitted, even the slightest, is proof that the government "went after" Toyota? Interesting logic. And now with the government owning LESS of GM, Toyota has recalled another 2 million vehicles for the same problem. Did the government make them do that as well so GM could benefit? This is a government that can't agree on Health Care, but can organise this? Actually now that I think of it, this is the biggest screw up of trying to help GM, so maybe the government did have something to do with it.
  14. Let me fix that for you: It's Official: There Was Nothing (ELECTRONIC) Wrong with Your Toyota (GAS PEDAL). THEY WILL STILL STICK UNLESS THEY ARE FIXED. That's better, and give it up with the whole "GM is owned by the government so they caused this Toyota with hunt". That's a crock and intelligent people know it. Toyota screwed up and got caught. End of story. Did the media go overboard? Yep. Did the government tell them to because they had a stake in GM? Nope. Who was the biggest benefactor of this mess? GM? Nope, it was Honda. Honda had the biggest percentage of old Toyota buyers buy Hondas. Hmmm?? But the government caused it to help GM. Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
  15. What about pets of divorced people?? My ex-wife and I had a dog until he got sick and had to be put to sleep. I wonder who he'll go to??? Although, she isn't a member so she most likely won't make it to the Celestial Kingdom, of course, I might not either!!!
  16. Actually they do. But because their bodies are made perfect, they turn into dogs!!!
  17. I'm in the exact opposite situation. I'm relatively young (38) and am in the High Priest Group. I wonder if they'd let me attend Elders Quorum? When I was teaching this past Sunday, I was the youngest by a good 20 years. Seriously though, I can't, as I am the 1st assistant in the High Priest Group Leadership.
  18. Give me a break. This system can onyl be activated if the vehicle is reported stolen and if the police spot the vehicle. Then there are a series of test to make sure that it is the correct vehicle, then the shut down code is sent. They do not constantly monitor what you are doing. The Onstar system is only activated when you push that little blue button. BTW - They are coming out with a new system that you can purchase at Best Buy and have it installed on any vehicle.
  19. She likes it, but not as much as I do. But that's ok, because she has her little Fit to keep her happy. The nice thing about this car is that it wasn't one the we absolutly needed, it was one that I wanted. I have been looking at these cars for about a year now and when we decided to get another car, this went to the top of the list. It even fit into our budget.
  20. After living with only 1 car for the past few months, my wife and I decided to get a second car. This weekend we went out and looked a some used cars and this is what we got: It's a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT. It has the Hemi V8 which makes this wagon quite the rocket!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!
  21. We decided to go ahead and dedicate the grave, but without a mention of the coming forth at the first ressurection. It was a lovely service, very short, and with just family. A short poem was read by my sister in laws and then the prayer and dedication. The worst part was placing the roses on his tiny little casket. I remember hardly being able to see anything because of the tears streaming down my face. I am not realy an emotional person and I hide my emotions quite well, but this time I just couldn't hold back, it wouldn't have been right. My son, who never saw Kai, was quite emotional as well. That goes to show the impact that little Kai had in a very short time. Thank you all for you well wishes and they are greatly appreciated.
  22. Been there and done that. I was in training to become a leader for their "Information Session" where they encourage you to sign up that night, otherwise you are just leading the same old boring life. Over the years that I was involved, I imagine I spent close to $10,000 over 5 years including travel costs. My ex-wife is still heavily involved and my son has taken a few courses. Although I have nothing against the people who participate in these programs, I am very sceptical about the good they actually do. I took the courses when I was inactive and my life has been significantly better since I returned to the church than it ever was in these programs.I wonder how many people actually know that the original program was started by a used car dealer to make his salesmen more effective at selling. Hmmmmmmmmmm..........................
  23. My wife and I recently had a terrible tragedy. She was 32 weeks pregnant when we discovered there was no movement or heartbeat. She still had to give birth, but he was stillborn. My question is do we need to have the grave dedicated because he never took a breath or lived on this earth? The funeral is tomorrow and the person saying a small prayer has asked to work in the dedication of the grave. I went ahead and told him yes, but I'm still not sure. Any ideas??
  24. I thought that I read that the fire department was out there anyway to stop the fire from spreading to the house next door which had paid the fee. If that is the case then I beleive they could have done something to try and save some of their things.
