I guess when calculating the efficiencies you'd have to factor in higher costs for cleaning up

I'm a bit worried about an orthopaedic surgeon who resorts to chain saws when the power fails at the hospital.

And probably for the fish as well. Have you been fishing lately? Remember, faith without works is dead.

And is that word color?

I'm only guessing here. I think the most likely outcome would be that if you asked the BIshop to keep your discussion with him confidential, then he probably would. A less likely outcome is that he would discuss your concerns with someone else, most likely one or both of your parents but he would do so in a way that protects you. Its also possible that the Bishop might mention to your dad, without telling him anything specific about the conversation he has had with you, that it might be good for your dad to talk with you about certain things. Either way you are better off than you are now of living with your doubts and not doing anything about them. I would also be inclined to look around for another trusted adult adviser who you can trust and who is not as close to your dad. Your bishop is not the only person you can talk with about these things.

I suspect that an element of the church's approach to investments and the management thereof will always be influenced by memories of what the government did to the church under the Edmunds-Tucker Act.

Is daught the diminutive term for daughter, or does it perhaps refer to a small daughter? Or perhaps there is a possibility that you might have misspelled draught.

Where is the list of harms that have occurred because someone shared a secret that God had shared with Joseph? And is that list longer or shorter than the list of harms that have been done by keeping secrets? If someone shared a secret that God had shared with Joseph, Joseph is the only person who could have told them that secret.

I've long had an interest in politics but it is this ^^ concern that has held me back from further involvement. I think the way that politics is usually played in Australia, there is often a correlation between how fast you rise up the ladder and how fast you abandon your principles. To succeed in politics, I would have to become the kind of person that is not naturally me. So I've looked for other ways to serve instead.

Welcome to you both. May your forward movement continue onwards forever.

As I was reading this, I started to ask myself questions as to whether perfection, honour, integrity, etc, are subjective. I'm not sure of the answer. Would an intelligence recognise those characteristics, and is God's perfection and honour the same as every/any other kind of honor (misspelled for @Carborendum's reading comfort ) and perfection. The answer to these questions might not have an immediate impact on our day to day lives but they might assist in the development of a better understanding of the nature and character of God.

Here is something that I transcribed from CD Number 2, Track 1, of the CD set They Knew the Prophet a few weeks back. This is someone recounting what Joseph Smith taught. I will need to listen to the last track of CD 1 to find out whose words these are. It may shed some light, or add more to the mystery, to the question of whether every electron is its own entity. That all light and heat are the glory of God, which is His power that fills the immensity of space and is the life of all things and permeates with latent life and heat every particle of which all worlds are composed, that light, or spirit, and gross matter are the two first great primary principals of the universe, or of being, that they are self existent, co-existent, indestructible and eternal, and from these two elements both our spirits and our bodies were formulated. He taught that all systems or worlds were in revolution, the lesser around the greater

Perhaps agency would have been a better word than power. The same argument holds no matter the details of what was exchanged. Perhaps it was the case that an agreement was made by which a relationship was formed, and if one party goes outside the agreement, the relationship becomes void to those who were a party to it. This idea does seem to have some similarity with the idea of progress via covenants.

19 And ano unclean thing[MS1] can enter into his kingdom; therefore nothing entereth into his brest save it be those who have cwashed their garments in my blood, because of their faith[MS2] , and the repentance of all their sins, and their faithfulness unto the end. If the bolded portion is true, and I think it is, given the source, then it must be the case that either all those who eventually enter His rest were perfect, without sin and totally clean at the time of their death, or they became clean in the time between dying and entering His kingdom. Does this add support to the idea that there is scope for repentance after death?

I’ve sometimes thought about the possibility of a transaction between God and unspirited intelligences whereby God said to the intelligences give me power over you and I will enable your organisation and progression. And the intelligences said ok, yes, but if you ever do anything outside of this agreement we will take back from you the power we have given you and that will be the end of our arrangement. Or, in other words, you will cease to be our God. This is total speculation, but perhaps not impossible, and it does explain how, under some circumstances, God could cease to be God in relation to one particular group because of not obeying a particular eternal law. Other than the existence of natural consequences for non-obedience, I cannot see any other “enforcer” being involved in handing out penalties for breaches of eternal law other than a party who was involved in the creation of that law and on whose consent the existence of that law depends.

The view from Australia - AI and ChatGPT for draughting, coding, architecture, law and in schools: https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2023-01-25/chatgpt-midjourney-generative-ai-and-future-of-work/101882580 While schools are banning ChatGPT, Australian workplaces are already deploying it and other new kinds of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. For these tech companies, law firms and architecture practices, AI isn't just the future of work — it's already here. The article contains numerous examples of designs created by AI and the instructions that were given to create those designs.

This is the (anonymised) response I got two days in a row while trying to acces ChatGPT from home Access denied You do not have access to chat.openai.com. The site owner may have set restrictions that prevent you from accessing the site. Ray ID: Timestamp: Your IP address: Requested URL: chat.openai.com/ Error reference number: 1020 Server ID: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 I went down to the local university campus this morning and tried it out there. I had to go through a brief account creation process but after that it let me in immediately. I asked: What countries in Europe provide compensation for people who have been held in remand? In Europe, some countries that provide compensation for people who have been held in remand (pre-trial detention) include: Germany Austria Belgium France Greece Italy Netherlands Switzerland It's important to note that the specifics of these compensation programs vary from country to country, including the eligibility criteria, amount, and application process. I was interested in this as it told me something that I did not know - that Belgium and Greece also have compensation schemes for people held on remand - so I went a bit further and asked: Provide url links for where I can get more English language information about the eligibility criteria, amount and application process for compensation for people who have been held in remand for Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands Here are some resources where you can find more information about compensation for people who have been held in pre-trial detention in Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands: Germany: The German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection has information about compensation for wrongful detention in Germany (in German): https://www.bmjv.de/DE/Themen/Rechtliches/Entschaedigung/entschaedigung_node.html France: The French Ministry of Justice provides information about compensation for wrongful detention in France (in French): https://www.justice.gouv.fr/particuliers/3771.html Italy: The Italian Ministry of Justice provides information about compensation for wrongful detention in Italy (in Italian): https://www.giustizia.it/giustizia/it/mg_1_7_1.page Netherlands: The Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security provides information about compensation for wrongful detention in the Netherlands (in Dutch): https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/schade-door-onterecht-verblijf-in-detentie/informatie-voor-slachtoffers/compensatie-onterecht-verblijf-detentie I started to get excited about this because I have been looking for this sort of information for a while. I asked for English language sites but it gave me foreign language sites, but I thought, no worries, I'll just use google translate. However, my excitement waned when I clicked on the links, and they all failed. Ditto with Greece, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. Slightly deterred, I asked List reports and articles in English that discuss compensation for remand in European countries. It gave me an error message, I asked again and got the same error message. Mindful of what happened with @Vortwhere he got a message saying he had exceeded the number of requests in a certain timeframe, I waited a little while and then asked the same message again - List reports and articles in English that discuss compensation for remand in European countries, and still got an error message. I gave up at that point. And now, here comes my version of the Turing test. I've seen now how a computer handles this request - not so well. Now lets see how people handle the same request: Can anyone here list reports and articles in English that discuss compensation for remand in European countries? ps Now that I am back home, even though I now have an account, its still denying me access.

Mark 9: 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are apossible to him that bbelieveth. It may be that belief is a necessary precursor for a later action. The lack of initial belief may create some limitations on the possible range of later actions.

There is no theological or scriptural basis for the following, but I can imagine a situation whereby Christ was operating under instructions from His Father, and one of those instructions to Christ being something like, don't do anything unless there is sufficient faith, or only do miracles that are proportionate to the faith of the recipients.

Mark 6:7 ¶ And he called unto him the atwelve, and began to send them forth by btwo and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; Does this verse support the conclusion that at this point, still fairly early in in His ministry, Christ felt that it was more important for His disciples to go forth and teach the people rather than stay with Him to be taught by Him?
