Mission to Murder Hitler (a Smithsonian documentary on Netflix) My daughter was studying WW2 in history class, and was intrigued to learn that not every German supported Hitler, so we watched it together.

Actually, Baha'u'llah was not martyred. You are probably confusing him with the Bab, who was considered in the Baha'i faith as Baha'u'llah's forerunner, and who was killed in 1850. The coincidences that you mention, however, run much deeper. Both Christian and Muslim movements in the 19th century expected Bible prophecy to be fulfilled in 1844. That timeline was fulfilled, I believe, by the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith in 1844. -
Vort, I don't know anyone who would or could corral investment money for a film based on the mere idea of a screenplay. But I do know a director/producer who might be able to stir up funding to produce a film like that if there was a great screenplay to work with. He has over two dozen movie credits to his name, some of which you would probably readily recognize. I'd encourage you to consider writing your screenplay (if that's something you'd feel anxiously engaged to do), and then I'd be more than happy to put you in touch with him. I wish you the best on your writing project if that's what you choose to pursue. Regards, Hagoth

My ward has 4. If we don't sit up front we have trouble hearing the speakers in sacrament meeting.

Correct. But I've promised to take him to the new one this summer when school gets out.

At Thanksgiving Park there's also a children's park, where they have a splash park for toddlers with a beautiful statue of Noah, the Ark, and animals. And since it's tulip season at the gardens at Thanksgiving Point, I should mention the awesome stroll through the gardens west of most of the other Thanksgiving Point attractions. After a ten-minute stroll through rose and other gardens, there's a great place near a beautiful tall waterfall to take a picnic lunch. http://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/events/tulipfestival/scheduleofevents When we were there a few years ago, it was so pretty, my young son asked me if we could stay there forever. Thanksgiving Point has a lot to offer a young family.

I second the Aquarium recommendation in a big way. My son and I loved that place when he was a toddler. The annual family pass will likely save you lots of money if you go there more than once a year. He also loved the farm at Thanksgiving Point. http://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/visit/farm-country (When we lived closer, we had an annual pass to Thanksgiving Point too.) Your toddler might be old enough to also enjoy the dinosaur museum next door. An annual pass to Thanksgiving Point covers a surprising number of other places to visit in addition. Well worth the money for the occasional fun day or weekend.

Ever since we had electronic devices in our family the rule has always been that those devices didn't come out for use until after the Sacrament has been passed, and then they could only be used for painting/coloring apps. No other types of video games are allowed. This has saved us from having to pick up shattered crayons after every meeting.

Are The LDS Dating Sites Ever Fruitful?
hagoth replied to valdree's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Two examples: Last month a coworker got married to a guy she met through an LDS dating site. That same month, a neighbor also married a guy she met through an LDS dating site. That said, I have no idea how helpful such sites would be for someone in Scotland.- 45 replies

The evils of photoshop, Tolkien-pedancy and work-procrastination
hagoth replied to Jamie123's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I've read much of it, but it's been more than 20 years, so I don't recall a lot of what I read there. (Unlike the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which were much more memorable.) Thanks Neuro and Vort for filling me in. Now that that is out of the way, what does "pedancy" mean? -

Hi lost. Sorry for your struggles. As to recommendations for books, one of my favorites is President Eyring's To Draw Closer to God. Best wishes.

Surrogacy and Church discipline

Ditto. We had a kind soul who offered to be a surrogate for us. We thanked her for her kindness, but we chose to adopt instead. -

Again, as mentioned above, it may not be 1260 days (or 3.5 years as you say), but it is worthwhile to consider that it may instead be a period ending with 1260 years. Also, the text doesn't so much say that they would perform great miracles, but rather that they would be given the power to do so. The power described (to shut heaven that it rain not), (and to turn water to blood, and to smite the earth with plagues) speaks of the same power given previously to Elijah (who shut up the heavens that it rained not) and Moses (who turned water to blood and smote the earth with plagues). So they would have the same power that was given to the great prophets Elijah and Moses. Also, the statement that their martyrdom would happen in the place where Christ was crucified (which John calls "Sodom and Egypt"), may not be intended to be understood as the literal capital of modern-day Israel in the Middle East. When speaking of the place where the two prophets would be slain John specifically says he is speaking "spiritually", which may not be meant to be taken as literal Old Jerusalem. There may be some figurative, prophetic meaning intended here instead, parallel to the figurative reference to corrupt Babylon. Also, consider the post here.
