I was going to say something like @zil2 but she beat me to it. Except I expect most probably will continue to receive their endowments shortly before mission or marriage largely because and endowment is required for a mission or temple sealing, and those often happen pretty early in adulthood. When I was a young woman in the late 90s/early 00s, I got a message something like any adult can go through the temple if they feel prepared, but probably wait a few years unless you're getting married or going on a mission. When I went to get my recommend for my own endowment at around 25, not in preparation for mission or marriage, the stake president asked me how old I was and said it was probably appropriate at that age.

"Although some of us may feel lonely or isolated, it is important for us to remember the hope that Jesus Christ brings. The incarnation, God becoming a man, is the very reason why we have hope. Without Jesus Christ, we have no hope and only death to look forward to. But for those of us who are in Christ Jesus, we are no longer hopeless! Scripture says, 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.' "This living hope is the hope and promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, 'our hope.' We have hope because Jesus came as a man, lived, died, and rose again." - Daniel Kabason I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. - Psalm 16:8-11

Oh, no! You have walked into the slavering fangs of a lurking grue!

@person0 I want to suggest you spy on them until you can arrange to 'naturally' become acquainted elsewhere, thus reducing the weirdness of a stranger asking about their enjoyment of their home. But a lot of my silliness is taken seriously online, so I will instead say no, don't approach them for my sake.

When I worked for the post office around 2011, it would have been paying for itself if congress hadn't required them to prefund retirement benefits 70 years in advance. Apparently some changes were made in 2022, but I haven't read up on them. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-approves-50-billion-postal-service-relief-bill-2022-03-08/

@person0 I find myself curious about if the house you had built ended up being a great blessing to someone else.

Evil Speaking of the Lord's Annointed

So if I believe the prophet to be righteous because I believe that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would choose a righteous man to be our leader and have seen no sign of said man's nature having changed in the years since his call, that means I worship the prophet? -
The rate of temple growth in Nigeria is impressive: one operational, four in progress, and Abuja announced today. The first temples in Uganda, Ireland, Wisconsin, and New Jersey were announced today.

I get the impression that repentance might possibly be a worthwhile thing to consider.

More places I like for temples: Abuja, Nigeria; Malawi; Baja California Sur, Mexico; Hobart, Tasmania; Mobile (AL), Biloxi (MS) or Pensacola (FL); Richfield, Price, and Roosevelt, Utah; Green Bay or Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Little Rock, Arkansas; Kampala, Uganda; another small island nation - Trinidad? Micronesia?

Some of the recently released hymns & songs will be performed. And new temples will be announced. I haven't made my full guessing lists yet (I've made it a tradition to compete against myself in recent years for most correct guesses), but I'm liking Albania to get one in the next few years. But population density is also much higher in Northern Utah.

I went to see Faith of Angels with my mother on Saturday. It's showing in a few places in Utah now and is supposed to open nationally September 27. IMDb summary: A stranger receives mysterious callings compelling him to search for a boy lost in an abandoned mine. This is very closely based on a true story. The boy's family moved into the same stake as my family moved to years later, then both he and I moved back again in adulthood. Our parents know each other, Mom worked with his wife for stake stuff, and basically I am not the most unbiased reviewer. Mom and I both found it more emotionally affecting than expected, though. One shot I find amusing is in a church sacrament meeting. Announcements are made, they start singing the opening hymn, and then the camera shows the hymn board. The correct number for the hymn they are singing is in the first spot, but the second hymn is 301. I Am a Child of God is a pretty unusual choice for a sacrament hymn, I think. Another amusing-to-me bit features a cameo of the boy (now man) who was lost playing a volunteer rescuer, calling out for himself. He also was sitting on the stand in the church scene. And his real-life wife and mother are shown a few times conversing outside the mine while waiting for news.

It might do better today than a year ago. But with Chat GPT's purpose being to produce human-sounding text, I don't know how much more training in logic they would have given it. A little more logic than it had actually would be necessary to pass for human in a lot of contexts, but maybe not enough to solve a logic puzzle.

Can Christianity Become Illegal Due to HR 6090?
SilentOne replied to Carborendum's topic in Current Events
I looked a bit more closely about what exactly this new law is supposed to do, which is apparently to provide a clear definition of antisemitism to help decide if antisemitism motivated actions/decisions, and thus whether the Civil Rights Act applies. And I think for that purpose, the wording of the referenced documents is too easy to manipulate. -

I'm also concerned about "Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations." Especially when combined with the part of the definition that says, "...are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities." So if one American Jewish person advocates for something that helps Israel while harming the US, saying anything about it could be anti-Semitism and thus illegal? -

I've been streaming the '90s tv series Sliders on the Roku channel. -
I also noticed a big Think Celestial theme. When the text from all the talks is on the church website, I want to do a search to see just how many times the phrase was used.
