But we don’t decide what God does. Im sure he could remove all suffering, mental illness and evil spirits. But he doesn’t. Why would healing homosexual tendencies be any different?
-
If what your insinuating is that faith and prayer alone can remove the difficulty of living with homosexual tendencies, you are coming from a place of arrogance and ignorance. I know a person that this worked for, but I know MANY more that it doesn’t.

That is a good theory. While we don't believe in reincarnation for humans, whose to say plants and animals can't subject to that process? A great theory!!! for a fiction book D+C 88:25 “the earth abideth the law of a celestial kingdom, for it filleth the measure of its creation, and transgresseth not the law--“ In place of the phrase “the earth” you can put anything else. As long as a creature full fills its measure, it will be found in the celestial kingdom. The highest degree of the celestial kingdom is held only for those that are children of God and sealed for eternity. So that is the plan. Animals/plants/insects/etc will all be found in the celestial kingdom, but will not be “exalted” Why is this so? I don’t think this is “unfair” or any of us being here was just a “luck of the draw”. Ever known someone that attends church but refuses callings because they don’t want the responsibility? I imagine it was the same way in the creation. Some spirits don’t want the responsibility of exaltation and decided before mortality that they would rather not have to deal with the stress of agency. Similarly, those that will be exalted are those that magnify their callings, follow the counsel of the prophets strictly, and participate in all the ordinances of the gospel. Those who do not will not be exalted.

So I’m almost done with the Book “The Obesity Code”. It’s a big book that goes over all the dieting fads and the nutritional studies and facts associated with each fad and the pros and cons of each. A very fantastic book that explains obesity and weight gain in an understandable way. ANYWAY! One section talks about the great health benefits of regular fasting. After reading it I decided I wanted to test it out. At the same time, Another thought entered my mind. “This will give me more opportunities to fast throughout the month besides fast Sunday’s, which will allow me greater spiritual blessings!” Now here is the question. If my primary motivation to fast more is due to health reasons, would it be reasonable to include a spiritual side to the fast and expect spiritual blessings from it? Thoughts?

I didn’t read much of what was already discussed... but here are my thoughts. 1) The fish’s sex organs will naturally and literally change. A human’s will not. 2) it is a matter of survival for the fish. It is not for humans 3) A fish doesn’t care what gender it is, nor any other animal/insect/etc.. humans do

In my ward, The RS and EQ do their interviews the same day. They make it a big social event and have tons of food. Most people make it.

What would it cost to say... conquer Central America down to the Panama Canal... and build the wall there? That way all Mexicans become legal citizens (except I suppose those that illegally snuck in prior to the “border expansion”) and we build a smaller wall.

I thought it was pretty good. The cameo st the end seemed to be nothing more than a nod to Starwars Clone Ward and Rebels fans... I was hoping for a little more -
Why are we treating this parable as if it were a conclusive and complete explanation of final judgement?

The “Righteous” will be resurrected in the beginning. Not “Righteous Latter-day Saints”. There will be Catholics, Protestants, atheists, polygamists, Scientologist and others alive and kicking during the millennium. Even the beginning. ”only righteous people will live on the earth at the beginning of the Millennium. They will be those who have lived virtuous and honest lives. These people will inherit either the terrestrial or celestial kingdom.” (https://www.lds.org/manual/gospel-principles/chapter-45-the-millennium?lang=eng)

The Mayans may Have been Hindu in Origin.
Fether replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in General Discussion
On a personal note, I still bitterly argue that we don’t know for sure whether or not the Rich Young Ruler from the NT followed through with the command to give all his wealth away. -

Years ago I watched a video making this very point. I don’t remember specifics, but they “proved” that the Mayans (or some other ancient American race) were Chinese and worshipped elephants. When looking for evidence, you can always find it. -
Can I say that a certain activity provides blessings?
Fether replied to dahlia's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Anyone can promise any blessing for doing any activity that the Prophets and Apostles have promised to the general membership (ex. General Conference, Church Magazine, Scripture). Unless a promised blessing is back by the general authorities, I would t use personal experience as a basis to promise blessings (ie. Don’t promise that doing indexing will get you accepted into the college if your dreams. Even though you felt it was key to you getting accepted into your favorite college). If you are in a position of leadership/stewardship, you can receive specific revelation and promised blessings for those you have responsibility over. You can’t make up blessings, but you can be inspired to certain blessings to promise for actions. -
In the Book of Mormon, there are chapters that are almost verbatim what is written in the Bible due to prophets quoting Isaiah, or Christ rehashing what he taught in Jerusalem. Were these translations provided word for word to Joseph, or was he just inspired to pull out his bible and essentially “copy/paste” those sections?

I haven’t heard anything about canceling it. And I imagine the church would announce its cancelation. My only fear is that their actor portrayals fail to live up to the artist interpretation we are so use to seeing in the church manuals.
