I feel like any fear about getting married too quickly is coming from a society where marriage solely a binding (it’s sypposed to be at least) agreement for life in which you get one partner, and if you pick wrong, then your life will suck.
Dating in the church, we have word from the prophets of God that any 2 righteously living adults of opposite genders can make a relationship work. ALSO, while dating in the church, you are meeting and dating people with the same goals and standards. Though this doesn’t prevent problems in relationships, it does make it much easier.
i knew my wife for 4 months (only dated 3) before we talked about marriage. I knew her (and I am not referring to the biblical term “knew her”) for 7 months by the time we were married.
Dating in the world seems to have phases you must go through before marriage is considered:
    1) Meet
    2) Date
    3) Sex
    4) Move in together
    5) Road Trip
    6) Get engaged
    7) Get married 10 years after engagement
in the church, we cut out the middle 3 (though road trips are still an option... just go with friends and don’t sleep together), and get married sooner

    ring: $300
honeymoon: $2500-$3000 (Got a cabin in glacier national park for a week)
our wedding as a whole cost so cheap cause we both have SO much close family nearby that gave us tons of stuff

Would you have said the same thing if you thought it was terrible and didn’t want him in your ward?

I went with the original lesson.   The downside to Mormons being so nice is I can't tell if "it went great" means it really went well or if that's a form of "bless your heart, you tried so hard".

I once had to teach 30+ missionaries something that the mission president felt inspired they needed to know. I had a direct issue with it and felt it went against everything I experienced in my mission. I was pretty bitter, but went with it anyway. Immediately after I taught it to the missionaries in a meeting, one Elder raised his hand and asked the exact question I had and expressed the same issue I had. As soon as he got done sharing his thoughts and questions, the answer to it came to my mind by way of the spirit and I answered both Mine and his question in that moment.
d+c 84:85 “treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.”

Today during stake conference, our stake president shared a conversation they had with Elder Cook dealing with the recent age change in participation in the temple ordinances.
Elder Cook said that while studying the scriptures together, particularly D+C 13:1 (I’m pretty sure it was that one), one of the apostles, after reading it, asked the question “Does this include both sides of the veil?” Then each of the brethren “leaned back in their chairs and began pondering”. Well here we are now haha
    kinda cool!

I normally use google translate to interpret the spirit.

but in all seriousness! The greatest advice I ever received when it came to asking “what does the spirit feel like?” Was this:
Ask God in prayer to teach you what the spirit feels like. Anyone can describe it to you, but like trying to explain color to a color blind person, it is best done through experience

I just felt the need to drink expensive coffee at a hole-in-the-wall cafe and protest outside the nearest government building... hopefully this topic fades and I can scoot back to the right where I can go back to shooting shotguns and blaming illigals immigrants for all my problems.

Anyone seen “They look like people”. Watched it the other day and it is pretty good suspense movie. A bit of swearing but other than that there is minimal blood, no sex, etc.

In a recent discussion with an individual having difficulty dealing with life, it dawned on me that the main problem this individual was having was a profound aversion to realizing what humans are capable of accomplishing – including his specific capabilities.   It is not that this guy does not have skills – he has a college technical degree in a highly utilized field.  I suggested that at this point of his problem; that he could make significant progress by knuckling down, getting a regular job, putting forth some extra efforts and paying off some debts.  Their response was, “I cannot work an 8 hour day job – I have tried but it is not my thing”.
I believe the worse failures are those that do not make the effort – that do not know the difference between what they cannot accomplish and will not accomplish.  I am of the impression that obtaining the Celestial Kingdom is not a matter of can’t but and matter of won’t

It sounds, from your description, that you live in the east, south, or Midwest. Honestly, dating is becomes more and more difficult the further you get from the western United States. An option you could consider is moving to Arizona, Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, Idaho or any other western state, but particularly those ones.
If that isn’t possible, try looking for a singles ward around a temple where you live.
Also, LDS singles is great, online dating is a GREAT way to go

Correction: no one is meant to be alone forever. I stated in my comment that being alone may last a while... I meant that to be this life but I didn’t want to say “you may die alone”... no need to say that if it isn’t guaranteed. But after this life, there will be chance for love for everyone.

And don’t give up, no one is meant to be alone, but unfortunately, that aloneness might last a while. I have a dear friend of mine that is your age and has yet to marry as well. He is also one of the most positive and optimistic guys I know.
And when dating opportunities do arise, don’t make the mistake every member in Utah makes. For some reason people still feel like there is a “the one”. Truth is any two righteous living son of God can have a great marriage with any righteous living daughter of God.
That being said, my first post on this forum was dealing with dating a girl and one member said something along the lines of “Marriage is not the time to show everyone how open minded you are”. Find someone you can love and are attracted to.

After furtherbdiscussion, I learned that the money would be coming out of the clients bank account and not the company’s.
It is a $4000-$7000 paint job (depending on where I go), which would ruin him financially. I have decided just to get a touch up and buffering on the scratches which is only a $250 fix. The scratches will still be visible to some extent but I figured the car I plan on driving till it dies is less important than the client’s financial stance.
