  1. Yeah, @NeuroTypical we need the entire story here bro.
  2. My first in depth contact with a missionary was online.
  3. Good, I’m glad we agree. Like you, I pray salvation is available to everyone. Even @mirkwood. Yup. LDS are a minuscule population of the world. 15 million out of 7,6 billion. Like you, I strongly believe that a just and loving God wants to save everyone. And we aren’t alone. This isn’t 1966 anymore. Heck, Elder Tom Perry rebuilt a protestant church in Japan after World War 2. So don’t worry about this. Focus on your own salvation instead of worrying about others. However admirable that might be.
  4. Obviously an LDS would say yes, which is fine and totally understandable. If it even needs to be said, we should remember that a Catholic would say the world should be Catholic, an atheist would say the world should be atheist, a Muslim would say...you get my drift.
  5. Hence why some of us have spoken out against conspiracies and tribalism for years. We’ve been afraid of this happening for a long time.
  6. Whatever works. Absolutely your choice of course.
  7. I do support your personal right to boycott whatever you’d like. 100%. My issue is when people think their boycott will bring said company to it’s knees. It won’t.
  8. Oh of course, just demonstrating absurdity by being absurd. Mega Ditto. Agree 100%. Oh okay, sorry for misreading.
  9. Upfront-I’m an annual passholder who loves Disney. Yes, Disney has embraced the cultural left to some degree. But, to be fair, there are still a ton of liberals who complain about how Disney treats employees, how Disney is so into making money, how they have perpetuate a negative stereotype of women and so on. There really is no difference between the hard right and hard left, though they’ll never admit it or see it. They all get to the same conclusions here for different reasons. Fascinating, really. Haters gonna hate. Disney can’t satisfy either side. They won’t ban gays from entering the park and they :: gasp ::expect employees to you know, actually work how they agreed to work. However, the overwhelming majority of us can put that stuff aside and still enjoy the parks. So Disney will keep chugging along just fine. Whatever boycott you see against them (or, against the NFL, cough cough) will be as useless as your or I challenging Canelo Alvarez to a boxing match.
  10. https://youtu.be/IGgiasHFtw Go 20 seconds in.
  11. And one of my favorite TV shows of all time? The X-Files.
  12. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-people-fall-for-conspiracy-theories/ https://www.businessinsider.com/psychologist-explains-why-people-believe-conspiracy-theories-during-uncertain-times-2020-4 Truly interesting reading. Obviously, I know it won’t change the mind of anyone. But you never know. Regardless, it’s out there.
  13. https://apnews.com/article/health-courts-education-indiana-coronavirus-pandemic-eb1408814f3d3c7921fa371675f8c617 all three judges are Reagan/Trump nominees. Can’t blame a liberal conspiracy for this one.
  14. This is a little dated, but still accurate. Gasoline is actually incredibly cheap
  15. Ah Furries. The ones who make the Bronies look well adjusted and normal.
  16. At least be honest. It was this. https://youtu.be/21iW_YMLvmU
  17. Correct. It’s getting to the point where saying “vaccines are effective” is like saying “water is wet.” Only dogmatic zeal/blindness would get you to another conclusion.
  18. :: snickers :: I’m gonna let you figure out for yourself what side of this argument I’m more sympathetic to. If you say “Anti vax” you also think I like FSU football and Celine Dion “music”.
  19. To be fair, some people don’t know their questions are loaded. Ie, if I don’t swim in the culture or haven’t been raised LDS, I’m simply not aware of what questions are sensitive or loaded. I’m speaking from personal experience here. Also, by labeling questions as “loaded” or questioning the askers intentions, it shows how you feel. It’s pretty defensive.
  20. Yup, agree fully. Sorry my friend. It’s hard to adapt in these changing times, and I say that in all seriousness.
  21. Ignore it. I’ll guess that less than 5% of LDS know this cat even exists. Heck, I’m a socially liberal LDS and I had to Google them. Out of those 5%, a grand total maybe 100 of them will read this book. Their influence is minimal.
