  1. It always seems like it’s conservatives who go to the middle or swing left (Souter, O’Connor, Roberts). Aside from Byron White I can’t think of any democrats who swung rightward. Not saying it never happens. That said, way too many people read too much into one ruling. If Scalia was alive today, he’d be called a “liberal” just due to his flag burning opinion. Sheer madness.
  2. Peak wokeism is so absurd that it’s honestly hard to tell if they are being serious or if we’re all getting punked.
  3. It’s a beautiful thing between you and your daughter. Never ever let anyone take that away from you both!
  4. Totally their right of course, but that choice didn’t work well for Cromwell when he tried it!
  5. Wow. I've gotten the “Hey are you the ones who don’t do Christmas?” but never that.
  6. What is a “proper way to complain”? And I get the feeling that you already answered my question. Since they “rarely done in a proper way” maybe no matter how questions are asked, they’ll be considered “improper”?
  7. Anyone to the slight left of the John Birch Society is a “liberal” here. 😉
  8. “Conspiracy, eh? You think they were involved in the Kennedy assassination?”-Bart ”I do...now...”-Homer.

  10. Well said, and let me add a touch. It’s about relationships. You aren’t going to listen to, much less take advice and certainly not correction from someone you don’t like or don’t respect. After all, if someone only interacts with you to peck, argue or nag you-you wouldn't listen to them either.
  11. None of us do my friend. And if anyone says they do, run.
  12. You guys both make great points, totally valid. There is a huge difference between what both of you said and those who just make stupid jokes about therapy based out fear and ignorance. You are both 100% correct.
  13. Curious as to why you think it might be a negative. Not an argument, honest question.
  14. Oh, I’m sure people will still be outraged by this in two weeks. Eventually though it’ll be forgotten and people will rage against something else. It’s a non stop cycle. It’s also self serving rubbish, for the most part. The left shows their outrage to let their hipster, urban friends know how down they are with the latest social cause. The right does it to show their neighbors how moral and righteous they are. Both sides are too wrapped in moral fervor to be able to engage in self critique or to see how silly they look to the rest of us. The reality is that’s physically/mentally impossible to be angry and outraged all the time. You’d have a stroke before breakfast. It’s faux outrage from everyone when you dig deeper.
  15. To be fair, I see a lot of “weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth” coming from all sides lately. It seems that those on the hard right and hard left can’t go 24 hours without being outraged and shocked about something. CRT is just the latest thing. In two weeks, it’ll be something else. Guarantee it.

Huge respect for you for asking the way you did bro. @Fether, all of us could learn from you.
  17. There’s nothing wrong with speaking to a trained mental health counselor @Backroads. These people went to school for years studying, well, mental health. They could certainly help you! You are in my prayers!!!!
  18. More plagiarism here than in The New Republic. 😉
  19. Agree, I’m not saying she’s condemned to a lake of fire for eternity. It’s still a tactless comment and a reason why others dislike religious people.
  20. Responses like that are why others dislike religious people. I’m sorry you had to deal with that. That’s the epitome of placing doctrine above people. Sick.
