I looked at Jupiter and Saturn with an eight power telescope. It looked great. That made a little difference but not much considering Jupiter is roughly presently about 400 million miles away from us.

My wife and I refused to wrap the Christmas gifts this year so my sixteen year old daughter decided to do it. I think it took her over two hours. They look nice. But it is a lot of work and not worth it in my opinion. I am just glad someone else decided to do it.

Today I opened the mail and found a Christmas card in it. After opening the card I found five crisp one hundred dollar bills in it. I then re-gifted the currency to another neighbor. It's like getting old fruitcake from someone else. 😀

What is something good that happened to you today?
Still_Small_Voice replied to pam's topic in General Discussion
I just found out I got about a $450 raise in my pay today. This year I was not expecting a raise since my employer already gave me about a $2,700 profit share. -
I like people giving me Christmas cards with a personal note written in them. They were at least thinking of me giving me the card and writing a note.

I don't understand why Japan does not set up a water cooling system to cool the radioactive waste in Fukushima and then recycle the water so they do not end up with radioactive water. Perhaps I am too uneducated on the subject. Edit: I mistyped. I do not understand why Japan just does not continue to use the radioactive water they have already used and cooled to cycle it again with the radioactive waste. Just keep using that same water over and over again. This would prevent more radioactive water storage that they do not know what to do with.

Nishan Degnarain -- Contributor -- October 18th 2020 The new Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, is facing additional international pressure over the weekend, amid reports that Japan will be accelerating plans to dump millions of gallons of radioactive water directly into the ocean. Reports have being widely circulated among Japan’s leading news agency and across international media that suggest the decision has already been taken by the new Japanese Government, and will be publicly communicated later this month. Over 1.2 million tons of radioactive cooling water from the Fukushima Nuclear Plant will be released. While the water will be treated, it will still be radioactive. 170 tons of new radioactive wastewater is generated each day and is stored in 1000 specially designed tanks. Anyone Else Watching The Mandalorian?

The Boba Fett series looks interesting to me. It's not a prequel thank goodness. I am so tired of knowing the end before the beginning of the story in Star Wars. -
Anyone Else Watching The Mandalorian?

I just finished watching The Mandalorian 16th episode. It looks like the series is over. I hope it is. It would be a good place to end it in my opinion. Any comments on the 16th episode? -
That was a good video. Thanks for posting it Connie.

I completely agree with this statement here. Presently I am pondering on printing out some spiritual writings I have gathered over the years. Right now they are only in digital format with multiple copies on hard drive and flash drives. I do not like storing data on the Internet cloud because of your lack of control of it.

Worst and Best drivers (by State) in the USA
Still_Small_Voice replied to Traveler's topic in General Discussion
From what I have observed the speed limit is usually reasonable on most roads. Some roads I believe the speed limit is set low in areas to generate tax revenue. It is very disgraceful in my opinion to reduce our police to tax collectors in speed trap zones. -

I have no problem if someone stops at a red traffic light when there is no or very little traffic, looks all directions safely to verify there is no one coming and proceeds safely through the intersection. They are obeying the spirit of the law. I have a problem with idiots that think saving three minutes of their time is more important than other's well being and just run through a red traffic light. As I drove to work in a car over ten years ago the LORD told me to look to my left as I came to a green traffic light that had been green for my right of way for some time (likely over ten seconds). I looked and saw someone driving a car that was not stopping. I stopped at the intersection because I saw them and they went right through a red light likely going around 35 miles per hour. The reason I was not injured or killed is because the LORD gave me inspiration that protected me and the other person who was driving a car badly. -

Did you miss the sarcastic joke on my other comment about some four by four drivers feeling they are invincible? You were supposed to laugh at me. -

The people driving fast around you probably have 4x4 or all wheel drive in their vehicles. With 4x4 you can drive any speed you wish in any type of conditions. It's a proven fact. 🤪 -
One can dream about it but I doubt it will ever happen. They should remove legal protections that these companies have from being sued. Why should they get special legal protection?

In my opinion 70 miles per hour is fast enough on the I-15 highway but if you drive that most people will pass you. Regularly I am driving 75 miles per hour on I-15 to keep up with the flow of car traffic. -

I do not know what it is with Salt Lake County. Many times when I am down there I see someone run a red traffic light. These are not orange lights (lights that have just turned red) these are red lights. Red for about three seconds or longer then they come barreling thru the intersection. This is how you kill people. People who run red traffic lights do not care about the lives and well being of others in my opinion. I do orange lights sometimes but I have to remind myself to be a courteous driver. Running red traffic lights is very dangerous. If a traffic light changes red before your front bumper gets into the intersection in Utah you violated a red light. -
I was also reading on another forum and a person said this and I mostly agree with it presently: The sole purpose of the Supreme Court is to review, rule upon and enforce Constitutional issues, they have now neutered themselves and shown that they, and their rulings, are irrelevant and unenforceable. The corruption of our government is now fully and totally on display.

I believe this quote but I do not know how it is going to be fulfilled. Likely the LORD's hand of judgment will come upon the modern day Gadianton robbers but we will likely also endure hard trials. I keep praying everyday that the Bill of Rights and the Constitution will be preserved. "Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster, and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail. This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the New Jerusalem. This is the place that the Lord said is favored above all other nations in all the world. This is the place where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won’t fail. I have faith in America; you and I must have faith in America, if we understand the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges. “I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through." -- President Harold B. Lee, 1974 Ye are the Light of the World, pages 350-351

This man had an interesting thought on the election results in my opinion: "The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressman (sic), have decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law. Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences. This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the U.S. constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far reaching ramifications for the future or our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution." -- Allen West https://www.theblaze.com/news/texas-gop-chairman-allen-west-floats-secession-in-reaction-to-scotus-shooting-down-election-suit

I think you are correct on this Johnson. I think the Founding Fathers original intent for the Electoral College was the electors were not beholden to the public vote and could cast their vote for someone else for President if they felt that the person who won the popular vote was a tyrannical threat. It's sad we have strayed from this in my opinion. But I am also of the opinion that States should cast their Electoral votes like Nebraska and Maine. It should not be an all or nothing in my opinion for Electoral votes.

I know you meant the Parable of the Sower. That made me laugh. 😁
