Posted on September 24th 2019 Habakkuk was disgusted by the unrighteousness of his nation (Habakkuk 1:2-4). God told Habakkuk that He felt the same way, so His plan was to bring suffering to Judah (Habakkuk 1:5-11). This plan would bring Judah back to reality and back to dependence on God. The plan was to bring Babylonian armies to demolish and conquer Judah. Habakkuk was horrified by this plan because Habakkuk felt that God owed something better to Judah (Habakkuk 1:12-17). God answered his confusion in Habakkuk chapter 2. God’s only encouragement was to say that the Babylonians would also suffer for their injustice. Last week I couldn’t even pray because I was angry at God for not preventing America from descending ever farther into unrighteousness. So I asked myself why I felt entitled to have America remain righteous. I never felt entitled that another country be righteous when I lived there. I thought of the often cited 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people, who are called by My name, humble themselves…I will …heal their land.” This was a promise given to Israel, a nation in which 100% of the people (at the time) were His people. In the USA, only 10% to 30% are born again. So not all US residents are His people. If 100% of Israel repented, of course it would be healed. But if between 10% and 30% of a nation repent, the majority of the nation can still keep abortion legal. Islam conquered 4 out of the 5 historic apostolic centers of Christianity. None of those four centers have returned to Christianity since then. There is no guarantee that the USA will retain Christian morality or values. Those apostolic centers had more reason to expect God’s intervention than the US does. Sometimes suffering is the way that God purifies a nation, leading it to repentance. If it doesn’t lead a nation to repentance, His judgment at least glorifies His own sense of holiness and honor. Read more at: https://redstatesecession.org/escape-gods-judgment-of-the-usa/

Approximately one in six from America's youngest adult generation now identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, headlining a trend of increased LGBT identification in the country, according to a new Gallup survey. The survey, conducted throughout the last year, found that 16% of U.S. adults from Generation Z identify as something other than heterosexual. Those surveyed were born between 1997 and 2002. Generation Z is defined as those born between 1997 and 2012; the survey did not include those who have not reached age 18. Of those 18- to 23-year-olds who identify as LGBT, 72% of them classified themselves as bisexual. "Thus, 11.5% of all Gen Z adults in the U.S. say they are bisexual, with about 2% each identifying as gay, lesbian or transgender," Gallup stated. Additionally, the percentage is poised to grow, since many individuals from Generation Z have not yet reached adulthood and thus were not surveyed. https://www.theblaze.com/news/1-in-6-gen-z-lgbt

Charity: Feeling jaded on charity
Still_Small_Voice replied to Backroads's topic in General Discussion
Read the Inspired Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible on this account on Exodus chapter 32: 9 And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people; 10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them; and I will make of thee a great nation. 11 And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath. Thy people will repent of this evil; therefore come thou not out against them . . . 14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If they will repent of the evil which they have done, I will spare them, and turn away my fierce wrath; but, behold, thou shalt execute judgment upon all that will not repent of this evil this day. Therefore, see thou do this thing that I have commanded thee, or I will execute all that which I had thought to do unto my people. -------------------------------------------------------- It appears to me from these verses that Moses asked that mercy be given to the children of Israel and the LORD in response told Moses to be the executor of judgment for those who did not repent in the people of Israel. I do not think Moses convinced the LORD of anything in my interpretation of these scriptures. Moses asked for something and the LORD gave it to him. -
I agree. What makes the American economy good is people willing to show up and work thirty-two to fifty hours per week to provide goods and services for others to purchase. Money is just a medium of exchange. People who are fully employed should not be getting this "stimulus" money. If others are not fully employed or out of work they should be able to apply for temporary assistance.

The Priesthood is not needed to perform many miracles in the name of Christ according to my understanding.

Charity: Feeling jaded on charity
Still_Small_Voice replied to Backroads's topic in General Discussion
Giving kindness, gratitude and a little time to others mostly is free. Some people are really famishing for it as well especially in these times of isolation. -
The barrage of pornography available on cellular phones and many other electronic devices with other wicked messages to twist people's reason are continually sent out to many. It is popular and cool now to become a homosexual, bi-sexual or pursue other sexual paths other than being heterosexual. Chastity and marriage between a man and woman are such an important part of our eternal progression. Evil is now continually called good and good evil. I am also very concerned about the spiritual wickedness that has forced its way into our Government. Already our freedom of speech and religion is under assault and it won't be long until many full blown attacks are also made on the 2nd Amendment as well. We need the LORD's grace more than ever to survive these last days. I'm not looking forward to many trials ahead that await the Saints of God.

Stock Market Explodes Over Stock Surges
Still_Small_Voice replied to Ironhold's topic in Current Events
I just looked at GameStop stock. It is at $52.40. Hopefully it stays at this price for over two years. -
"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." -- Benjamin Franklin "We would not accept the yoke of Christ; so now we must tremble at the yoke of Caesar." -- Bishop Fulton J. Sheen "Our increased reliance on laws to regulate behavior is a measure of how uncivilized we've become." (D. Todd Christofferson, "Moral Discipline," Ensign, November 2009, 105-8).

I admit that I am openly biased for the principles of freedom and the Constitution. It is good to let people choose what to do with their money, how to live their life and allow people effective and reasonable tools to defend their life, liberty and property. That government which governs least governs best in my opinion on most things. It is not needful for us to compel in all things with laws and regulations. Hate speech laws should never be allowed to censor free speech even if it gives a wretched and unpopular opinion. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. Where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty.

What is something good that happened to you today?
Still_Small_Voice replied to pam's topic in General Discussion
Well, their actions are not suppressing the stock price of Game Stop today. I just checked it and the stock is selling for close to $345 per share. Edit: I think people are tired of big corporations telling them what to do so they are buying the Game Stop stock again against the will of some people on Wall Street. -

I am watching the GameStop stock crash from its high of over $400 per share. Today the stock is now at $260 per share. Glad I did not buy any of that stock. The GameStop stock was about $19.40 per share on December 29th 2020. -
I doubt it. Keep your window up except a crack. Slip out the driver's license and the traffic citation can then be inserted the same way the driver's license came out.

Something great happened to me today. I won 2nd place in the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes! Here is the voice mail I got: "Congratulations you are second place winner with the publishers clearing house. Please feel free to call the claims office at 347-4**-6*** that is 347-4**-6***. Please have your confirmation number 1108 US. Thank you and have a marvelous day." Yeah. It's a scam. I never entered the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes. It made laugh looking at the voice mail. -
I also just deleted my Twitter account. Likely I only used it several times in the past. I am a weird individual that has no Facebook account and I likely never will.

Conclusions from D&C 132: 16 - 17?
Still_Small_Voice replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
There are so many mysteries that have yet to be revealed or that we will not know until we are in the next life. It is not a kingdom I ever wish to dwell in, but I wonder what the lowest degree of the telestial kingdom is like compared to the highest part of that kingdom of glory. Can one advance from the lowest degree of the first heaven and get to the top degree of the telestial kingdom? I think one of the worst parts of damnation in the next life will be advancing as far as you can in progression and then being stopped and unable to progress any further. Being stuck in progression for eternity would be terrible in my opinion. Stars, black holes and galaxies would eventually come and go over eons of time but many resurrected beings will be stopped in their progression forever. -
Conclusions from D&C 132: 16 - 17?
Still_Small_Voice replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Here are a few things I have learned about the degrees of glory that await the children of God in the next life: The celestial kingdom has three degrees inside of it. Nothing has been revealed about the second degree inside the celestial kingdom. Nothing has been revealed about any different degrees inside the terrestrial kingdom. In my own opinion there are different degrees inside the second heaven as there are different degrees inside both of the other kingdoms of glory. (Reading Abraham chapter 3 verse 19 may open up some other thoughts: "And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all." ) The telestial kingdom has many degrees of glory in it according to my understanding of the scriptures. ". . . as one star differs from another star in glory, even so differs one from another in glory in the telestial world." -- Doc. & Cov. 76:98 -
I am wondering if there will be a next time. If they make more States to get more Senators and possibly more House Members, pack the Supreme Court with more Judges and continue to ignore voter laws that secure our elections in some States you are likely going to lose every time without divine intervention.

The Babylon Bee on the horrors of 2020
Still_Small_Voice replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
It looks to me thus far that 2021 may be worse. Already we had hundreds of people break in to the Congressional buildings in District of Columbia and we are only 6 days in to 2021. -
The Crumbling Institution of Marriage
Still_Small_Voice replied to Still_Small_Voice's topic in General Discussion
Satan is being very successful in convincing many of the children of men that selfishness, whoremongering and homosexuality are preferable to marriage. The natural man and woman are an enemy to God and incompatible in marriage. They will tear a marriage relationship apart with their selfish and sinful nature. A good marriage is between a man, and woman and the LORD. -
I watched this video and was saddened and appalled at American society and many other societies. It's no wonder America is falling apart with women and men refusing to marry and raise children for selfish reasons. Many men just want to casually date and be whoremongers and the same attitude is growing in many women. Watch the video below. It begins at about three minutes and thirty seconds where he begins to talk about marriage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5TuV1OrG8A

I can never recall ever hearing the hymn sung or played in my thirty years as a Latter-Day Saint: Sons of Michael, He Approaches. It is hymn number 51. Likely when the hymn book is edited in the future it will be removed.

The social justice warriors cannot ever get enough. I think they invent problems because they have very few or none in their life.
