One of my co-workers said it like this halfway serious and halfway joking. It is the law of supply and demand. They have the supply and they demand you pay these high prices for it. But domestic oil production has dropped since Biden came into office because of what he has done and is doing. This has affected the over all supply of crude oil in the world and that will drive up prices. (I do agree with you that we are being price gouged right now on gasoline though.) But when Trump left the office of President crude oil was around $55 per barrel. Now presently on March 25th 2022 crude oil is priced at close to $113.50 per barrel.

The LORD is full of grace and will give knowledge as we are able and ready to receive it. I have been given several dreams while I was asleep where the LORD gave me intelligence. But one came to me when I was in a Sacrament meeting during a testimony. Most of my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is centered in the scriptures and the spiritual knowledge I gain as I continually study them. I am in Exodus chapter 35 now in my reading of the Old Testament with Moses going up into Sinai the mountain to commune with the LORD and receive revelation from Him.

I like the following counsel given to us by President Nelson: "I am optimistic about the future. It will be filled with opportunities for each of us to progress, contribute, and take the gospel to every corner of the earth. But I am also not naive about the days ahead. We live in a world that is complex and increasingly contentious . . . If we are to have any hope of sifting through the myriad of voices and the philosophies of men that attack truth, we must learn to receive revelation. Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory. But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost. My beloved brothers and sisters, I plead with you to increase your spiritual capacity to receive revelation." April General Conference 2018 -- President Russell M. Nelson

What is something good that happened to you today?

My son just arrived in the Nashville, Tennessee Mission. He is at the mission home now. The greatest work in the world will now begin soon for him. -
I can walk up to 30 to 40 minutes without getting really tired again. One of my goals for 2022 is this: "Do not allow yourself to become weak." That goal is for physical, spiritual and financial.

Jane Doe, you seem to be in dire need of a vacation. Any chance you can take some time off to have some enjoyment and fun? I felt like you did back in 2017. For about 18 to 24 months I had been job hunting and found nothing even though I had multiple job interviews. It was so frustrating to me and I was beginning to lose hope. Then I got a job solicitation and was told if I could get a Computer Technology Industry Association Security + certification that I would have a new employment. Through prayer and effort I got my certificate but my background check also took months to complete. I finally quit my old job when my jack hole supervisor decided to write me up for a mistake I made at work. For five years at that job I had never been written up. He got what he wanted: a power trip to write me up. Then I got what I wanted: cleaned out my desk the next day and I quit without a two week notice (which is unusual for me). Two weeks later I started a good job at an employer that I am still at presently. May the LORD bless you in your search for new employment.

I have a more merciful view of Sherem. Read about his final words in Jacob Chapter 7: 16 And it came to pass that he [Sherem] said unto the people: Gather together on the morrow, for I shall die; wherefore, I desire to speak unto the people before I shall die. 17 And it came to pass that on the morrow the multitude were gathered together; and he spake plainly unto them and denied the things which he had taught them, and confessed the Christ, and the power of the Holy Ghost, and the ministering of angels. 18 And he spake plainly unto them, that he had been deceived by the power of the devil. And he spake of hell, and of eternity, and of eternal punishment. 19 And he said: I fear lest I have committed the unpardonable sin, for I have lied unto God; for I denied the Christ, and said that I believed the scriptures; and they truly testify of him. And because I have thus lied unto God I greatly fear lest my case shall be awful; but I confess unto God. 20 And it came to pass that when he had said these words he could say no more, and he gave up the ghost. Why would Sherem wish to gather the people and tell them about the false doctrine and the truth if he was a son of perdition? Compare his death to Korihor's in Alma chapter 30. Korihor wished to speak to the people again after being struck dumb and deaf so he could teach false doctrines again after having been given a sign from the LORD. I do not believe Sherem was a son of perdition. But he will receive his judgment and his kingdom according to the judgments of God in the future.

Tornadoes can go through a landfill and eventually assemble 747 jets complete with filling up the fuel tanks. Order comes from chaos. I do not believe it.

I went up with a co-worker in a small private plane with a flight instructor today. We flew over the Wasatch mountains, past Willard Bay, over Pineview Reservoir past Eden Utah and other places. The experience was magnificent and very enjoyable! I did an oh what a feeling Toyota jump after the flight was over. It has been about thirty years since I went up in a private plane. I still remember my private flight from thirty years ago too in California. If you have never flown in a private plane you do not know what you are missing. Presently I avoid flying commercial flights because of the mask mandates and all the over bearing security rules. You deal with none of that in a private plane. I feel like I am going into a prison when I go to a commercial airport. -
I got this phone message recently from a robot caller. It told me to press one to get connected to one of our officers. This is an exact quote of some of the message left: "If we don't hear from your end then we will be forced to take impeachment against you." Oh no! Please do not remove me from my seat of authority! I called them back immediately to give them whatever they wanted. Of course I am joking.

Censorship and the ideological divide
Still_Small_Voice replied to prisonchaplain's topic in General Discussion
In my opinion I have no clue why a Latter-Day Saint or a Christian would want to play the Grand Theft Auto video games. The actions in these games are reprehensible and senseless violence and there are elements of pornography in some of the games. I am not against violence in just causes (such as Captain Moroni in the defense of his country), but why glorify murder or prostitution? The carnal or sensual mind loves such things. -

Well, we may not see those investigators again...

I was recently talking to a relative that has left the Gospel of Jesus Christ and they were quite bitter. They felt they had been lied to their entire life. They said they had tried their best in life while in the church to follow the LORD but they never received a witness of the truth. I did not see that when I watched what they would do. They would excuse their actions in pornography and other sins. Now they are directionless but say they are more happy in their life. I think the person is lying to their own mind because I do not see the fruit of happiness in them. It is very sad when you watch someone leave the LORD. -
Are succeeding generations becoming dumber?

If this were to happen I heard trucks and automobiles would be knocked out of commission as well. Supply lines would be cut then. This would be a catastrophic scenario. I hope it does not happen again for over a thousand years. -
Hello again Prison Chaplain. It's nice to see some people coming back to this forum. It beats Twitter any day of the week.

The dogs had their day with you Neurotypical. When I open my bottled hamburger to eat I cook it again in the frying pan usually. Beats frozen meat as it cooks much faster. We also have a lot of tuna fish in water coming up around December 2022 and in 2023 with expiration that was canned commercially. Likely this meat would be good three to four years after the expiration date but we hope to finish it off within a few years.

I opened some hamburger meat that was about 135 days canned in the bottle a few days ago. This meat was cooked in the pressure cooker. The food was also stored at cellar temperatures during that whole time. No food poisoning. This is also good success in my mind. I have three more bottles of hamburger that are the same age that I will likely eat soon.

I heard the inflation rate is really 14.2% if they would count items they were counting in the 1980s. But it really depends on what you are talking about. I heard automobiles are up 20 to 30% higher in cost than a year ago. Gasoline was around $2.20 per gallon in December 2021. Now it is priced at around $3.40 per gallon where I live. That is about 35% higher in cost. I talked with my wife and said we are just going to supplement losses in food costs with our food storage for now. Edit: And my property taxes also went up $90 per month just recently.

My son received his mission call to serve for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints about a month ago. He was assigned to labor in the Spanish speaking Nashville, Tennessee Mission. He reports for service in January 2022. -
What does “Eternal Families” mean?
Still_Small_Voice replied to Fether's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
If you inherit a lower degree of glory you live by those laws. Terrestrial kingdom people live the LORD's commandments which would include no fornication or adultery. From my understanding celestial resurrected bodies are also different than resurrected bodies of lower degrees of glory. -
What does “Eternal Families” mean?

Misinterpretation. You are outside of a marriage covenant. You belong to a group of people in the same glory as you if you are not sealed and/or in a lower kingdom of glory. -
What does “Eternal Families” mean?
Still_Small_Voice replied to Fether's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
In the old Gospel Principles manual (previous to the 2009 version) it teaches that persons who are not sealed together in the holy temple and who live in kingdoms lower than the Celestial glory are separate and single for the remainder of eternity. In my interpretation (and this could be wrong) this means that there are no husbands or wives and no children for people in Terrestrial or Telestial glory. There are also those who dwell in the Celestial Kingdom that are not sealed to a husband or wife and thus they are also separate and single forever. -
I agree with you there 100% on this point. That is crazy with the day of one hundred tornadoes back in 1974. That was before me. I was not even around back then.
