siouxz72 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Awwwww MAN!!! My 'Boys season opener starts at 3pm on Sunday and church goes from 2pm - 5pm...what's a girl to do??? Quote
Gwen Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 you don't get out of church till 5? ewwww i'm assuming that means the decision is made that your boy is ditching church?...if so ... does it matter what you do? isn't the lesson already taught? Quote
BenRaines Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 I know it sounds harsh but how old are these boys? Sounds like sports trumps church. From my old age I can tell you this. I still attend church long after I quit playing football or wrestling. :) Church was the priority at our house. Ben Raines Quote
Lbybug Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 pay another parent to record it? Quote
siouxz72 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 The 'Boys are The Dallas Cowboys! hahaha!! I guess I could DVR it, huh? Quote
Guest ceeboo Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 The 'Boys are The Dallas Cowboys! hahaha!! I guess I could DVR it, huh?OHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! In that case, by all means, GO TO CHURCH:lol:God bless,Carl Quote
COcowgirl Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 ummmm I would say stay at home at watch it but thats only cause "my boys" play football a week from this Sunday.....lololololool. You just need to go to another ward that morning and then u wont be ditching church..lolol. Have fun Soux!!!!!! Quote
sow1948 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 You should go to Sacrament at least. I know that there are instant blessings in keeping the Sabbath day holy. And Church is so important to be able to confront the challenges of the week following Sunday:-)))) Quote
Guest GhostRider Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 If its for a raiders game....I would...lol I grew up like ben you had to very ill to miss church..lol Quote
Captain_Curmudgeon Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 I hate watching recorded sports. Now if you could only record church meetings. They're as good recorded as live or BYU-TV wouldn't have a whole channel that runs nothing but conference talks and Tuesday Forum speeches. Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 If its for a raiders game....I would...lolI grew up like ben you had to very ill to miss church..lolYahoo!! another member of Raider Nation!!!!!Sioux, that's a tough one. You'll only miss half the game if you go to church. Of course, I go to church from 11:30 till 2:30MST, so I will miss most of the early games. Thank goodness the Raiders are on Monday night this week and are usually the later games!!!! Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 sorry, siouxz....but 1/2 a game AND church seems right to me Quote
Islander Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Awwwww MAN!!! My 'Boys season opener starts at 3pm on Sunday and church goes from 2pm - 5pm...what's a girl to do??? Have you heard about TIVO ?....hehehehe...check it out.My lineup: House, Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Law & Order. They all come out too late for me so I watch them early in the afternoon and on Saturday!! Quote
prisonchaplain Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 The 'Boys are The Dallas Cowboys! hahaha!! I guess I could DVR it, huh?You are out of control, sister. The solution would be to take a weekend trip to Dallas, and to attend a local megachurch (letting your light shine amongst the Gentiles, right? ). And, uh...:::cough:::...you just so happen to choose a church that will be showing the game, and then offering a brief devotional discourse, afterwards. Quote
mightynancy Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 PrisonChaplain, you are indeed a Man of God. Brilliant. Quote
BenRaines Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 As I started to reread your post I realized it was 'Boys and knew right away you meant Cowboys. Now even more emphatically I would say go to church. First because I can't stand the Cowboys and second because that is where you should be. Ben Raines Quote
pam Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 If its for a raiders game....I would...lolI grew up like ben you had to very ill to miss church..lol Bah Raiders!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Captain_Curmudgeon Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 And, uh...:::cough:::...you just so happen to choose a church that will be showing the game, and then offering a brief devotional discourse, afterwards. One like that just down the street. Lumpy's. Satellite, big screen TVs, services seven days a week. And brief is the word for devotional discourses, all right. Quote
siouxz72 Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 haha!! I have decided to go to church and just catch the last half of the game. :) I think my children will be very happy with that choice. maybe we'll just ditch third hour...c'mon! it's just yw, ym and rs!!! Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 well...siouxz..that seems a reasonable compromise...at least to me Quote
