My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol (1951, Alastair Sim). I also like It's a Wonderful Life and the original Miracle on 34th Street (Maureen O'Hara). I found A Christmas Story very delightful the first time I watched it. I also look forward to watching the animated A Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year.

My Dad was born in 1950 and the George C. Scott version of Christmas Carol is his favorite, so I get my love for it from him. ^_^

I'm no longer sure that Pam is the oldest member of this board. What are you, 100?

Differences of opinion as to Alistair Simm (1951) George C. Scott (1984) or Partrick Stewart (1999), but can we agree that it definitely is not the Disney version with Jim Carrey as the voice of Ol' Ebeneezer?

My list:

Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol-I grew up watching this version

Miracle on 34th Street(original version)

The Bishop's Wife (original version, not the Whitney Houston remake)

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

A Christmas Story

How the Grinch Stole Christmas-animated version only

Um, excuse me? I believe you left one out. Michael Caine (1992). Duh.

The musical Scrooge with Albert Finney -- haven't seen this one mentioned, and while it's not my personal favorite version of A Christmas Carol, it is one my husband grew up with and we watch it every year. It is kinda fun.

I have loved this movie ever since I was a young child. I have watched it every year since it came out in 1984. It is one of the best movies of all time in my opinion, and it has a grand message to listen to your children and don't ever stop believing in something that is important to you.

My mom said she fell in love with a Hallmark movie this year.."A Dog Named Christmas." She said she is getting it for all of us for Christmas. Thanks mom for telling me my Christmas gift.
