Maureen Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol (1951, Alastair Sim). I also like It's a Wonderful Life and the original Miracle on 34th Street (Maureen O'Hara). I found A Christmas Story very delightful the first time I watched it. I also look forward to watching the animated A Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year. M. Quote

Scott (1984) or Partrick Stewart (1999), but can we agree that it definitely is not the Disney version with Jim Carrey as the voice of Ol' Ebeneezer?:) Quote
Maureen Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I have to agree with dazed-and-confused that the Alastair Sim's A Christmas Carol is the ultimate best. M. Quote

dazed-and-confused Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 So glad to see The Bishop's Wife, with Cary Grant on the list. Quote
Connie Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 The musical Scrooge with Albert Finney -- haven't seen this one mentioned, and while it's not my personal favorite version of A Christmas Carol, it is one my husband grew up with and we watch it every year. It is kinda fun. Quote
Guest mormonmusic Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Miracle on 24th Street definitely. The new version though. Quote
pam Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Oh did the movie change streets? Or is that a different movie? Quote
Wingnut Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Oh did the movie change streets? Or is that a different movie? You're pretty defensive about a fictional story. Quote
pam Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Only asking for clarification. hahaha Quote
bytebear Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I just saw The Holiday. Better than I thought it would be. Christmas Story is my favorite. The Grinch cartoon is a close second. And I do like Die Hard. Quote
Wingnut Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I just saw The Holiday. Better than I thought it would be.I thought it was going to be terrible, but it was actually pretty good. Quote
kristie_31 Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I have loved this movie ever since I was a young child. I have watched it every year since it came out in 1984. It is one of the best movies of all time in my opinion, and it has a grand message to listen to your children and don't ever stop believing in something that is important to you. Quote
pam Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 My mom said she fell in love with a Hallmark movie this year.."A Dog Named Christmas." She said she is getting it for all of us for Christmas. Thanks mom for telling me my Christmas gift. Quote
john doe Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Well when you get that movie next May tell us all how you like it. Quote
Maxel Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 It's a Wonderful Life, and White Christmas. Can't beat the classics, IMO. Oh, and Mr. Kruger's Christmas. That's a cute one (also starring Jimmy Stewart... Hmmm...). Quote
