Maya Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 I hope Finland will winn the icehokey I think my brothers are on mount Whistler taking care of the slopes, like always in witer time. They were the first downhill skiers in one big sports thing I think they were under 20 at that time. But they never had money to go to Olympics. Anyway they were Canadian champions.. or the younger was anyway and te older was among the 3-4 best. Quote
pam Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 I know I'm so excited. I love the Olympics. Quote
LDSVALLEY Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Hope they have enough snow by then. They are having to truck the stuff in! BC usually gets plenty of snow but not this winter! Quote
StrawberryFields Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 I love the Olympics too! I was a volunteer and got a picture taken with Mitt Romney and Steve Young in The 2002 Winter Olympics. It's one of the best things I have ever done! Quote
pam Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I've got to figure out what time the opening ceremony is Friday. I haven't looked at the schedule yet. I'm afraid I might miss the opening. Quote
ADoyle90815 Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I love the Olympics, so I'll be watching. Quote

joel99 Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 We're very excited to have the Olympics - but the lack of snow here is really going to shatter the stereotype of Canada being filled with igloos and Coke drinking polar bears. :) But the reality is that Vancouver itself rarely has any snow to begin with. But even the mountains barely have any which is a bit nuts. I'm sure after seeing it even Sarah Palin will believe in climate change. :) :) j. Quote

The only hot date I have is with you. Oh and with your wife and my other sister and brother and mother and.... Quote

Everyone knows the Coke bears and eskimos with igloos only live in Alaska. Quote
Maya Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 looks like a lot of work for my brothers... if you see them or my sisters around say hi from me... heheh:D Quote
Bini Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 Yeh it is pretty exciting! I've always enjoyed watching the figure skating and such. That's about it. I don't care too much for the other stuff. I enjoy the Summer Olympics much more. Quote
Palerider Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I am not into the figure skating...however, my wife is crazy about all the speed skating. She use to be a short track speed skater. Quote
Guest Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I love figure skating as well... but then, I really like most of the winter sports. I still don't get the "push a rock across the ice and clear its path with broomsticks" one but I'm learning to appreciate it. I just wish they would make men's figure skating more manly. A lot of times they skate like women too. This is the same problem I have with WNBA. They run like men, they jump like men, they shoot like men, they even dress like men, but they don't play as good as men, so I just skip it and watch the "real" NBA. Quote
pam Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Call me weird but I actually like curling. I dont totally understand it...but I find myself yelling "stop, stop now..little to the left..yahoooooo" Quote
pam Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 I am also a Jeremy Abbott fan. So I'll be watching mens figure skating. May the JerForce be with him. Quote

pam Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 It's sad. They've already had one death. A Georgian (not our southern state) Luge slider. Lost control of his luge during a trial run. So sad. Quote

pam Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Okay I'm sorry. That had to have been about the lamest song I've ever heard during the opening or closing ceremonies of the Olympics. Nelly Furtado sang with absolutely no enthusiasm. Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 i have heard k.d. lang's version of hallelujah and i like it....but i didnt like this version.....sarah mc glaughlin was good, i really like her....and it's too bad the fourth torch didnt work...ala in all...i did enjoy the opening ceremony. HEthePrimate Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I really liked the opening ceremonies. Among other things, Joni Mitchell's song was nice. (And she's from the same province where my aunt lives!) Shalom Quote
daenvgiell Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Opening Ceremony is on now here in Australia =) Goodluck to everyone! Quote
