john doe Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 I saw a link to this one, and it looks cool, but after reading the customer reviews, I wonder if it may not be the best one out there for my needs. What do you guys think? Is it worth the money? Quote
LittleWyvern Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 This seems like a kit that would be fun to put together at home or something. :) Quote
john doe Posted October 8, 2011 Author Report Posted October 8, 2011 You don't have a cat.Not right now. But if I get another one I might need a 72hr. kit for it.I was also looking for a good power outlet for my stereo system. This one seem to get good reviews, has anyone here used it before? Quote

lizzy16 Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 I'm sorry.,.. Is this like all a joke? Quote
applepansy Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 after reading the reviews, hearing how my husband would evacuate a cat and reading the entire thread I'm really rolling on the floor with tears runing down my cheeks laughing. thanks John!!! Quote
Backroads Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 I would buy that kit and add to our emergency supplies if my cat currently lived with us, but he doesn't and my husband would really look at me strangely if I did buy that and then I would perhaps later look at it myself and think "what did I buy that for?" ... and now I just feel sheepish... pam Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 I need one for my dog. She's getting older and they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. So it seems worthless to me. I don't know if I could train her to grab her 72 hr kit in times of emergency. Quote

mnn727 Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 On a more serious note, You can put one together with stuff your cat would actually need much cheaper. We have a couple of collaspable carriers to hold the animals in and food/water for them in our 72 hour kits. We always keep 4 or 5 boxes of litter in the garage, so it would take only a few seconds to grab one or 2 and toss thm in the vehicle. Cat and dog leashes by the door. Quote
Backroads Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Well, yes, I think animal lovers should indeed consider their pets when planning for emergencies, but somehow... somehow this is hilarious. Quote
sister_in_faith Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 Oh. My. Word. That is toooooooo funniiieeee!!! Quote
beefche Posted October 8, 2011 Report Posted October 8, 2011 jd, have you prayed and fasted about this decision? Perhaps you lack faith, brother. Talk to your bishop for counsel, but then you should pray to know how to help your cat go poo. Quote
Backroads Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 But what if Fluffy doesn't want to go into the evac kit? Quote

What do you guys think? Is it worth the money? We're actually in the market for a rabbit evacuation kit; I thought this one might do. Unfortunately, based on the comments, if a cat can't carry it, our little bun bun won't be able to carry it either, leaving everything, once again, to her humans, which we were trying to avoid. Quote

Agreed. If a pet wants to be part of the family, he needs to pull his own weight. And emergency supplies. Quote

RipplecutBuddha Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 I was thinking the kit would be fine if you added a roll of duct tape in order to secure the cat to the bottom of the bag. That way if you drop the bag, it won't get dirty, especially from multi-floor apartment buildings. On the other hand though. would you have enough time to tape the cat to the bag in an evacuation scenario? Quote

What do you guys think? Is it worth the money?our cats are not pampered... we just have a couple really big catfood bags for our cats, and a heater for the water bowl if necessary Quote
