Churchmouse Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 The Tooth Fairy will be interviewing for a body guard position soon. He will need one to protect him with all that money he's carrying around. The going rate for a tooth this year is FOUR (4) dollars. That's up 23% from last year. It's up more than that from when I used he's services. I got a dime. What did the rest of you get? Of course, I was receiving mine in the 50's. Quote
Jamie123 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 The tooth fairy never came to me - I was far too naughty. Quote

TalkativeIntrovert Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 For my children, it depended on the state of the tooth. For a first tooth, well looked after, clean, no holes it was $5. Subsequent well looked after teeth were $1. A tooth with a hole or looking dirty from lack of cleaning was lucky to get 20c. I don't remember getting money for mine, possibly because I had all my baby teeth out in hospital due to damage from medications Quote

LilyBelle00 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 I used to get a .50 cents, I think. My younger siblings got a $1. Quote

applepansy Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 The Tooth Fairy didn't pay for teeth with cavities when I was a kid but those without cavities were worth a quarter. Quote
Lakumi Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 some of my teeth were silver capped, in 1996 (I was 7) Canada got the Toonie, so $2 was the going rate real faeries don't bring you money, you have to give them things so they don't mess with you Quote
Mahone Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 I got a pound, but the next morning I cried that I wanted my tooth back and made such a fuss that my mum made me place the pound under my pillow the next night and I got my tooth back in its place the following morning. Strangely, the tooth fairly never visited again... Quote

NeuroTypical Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 I've been telling my kids I'm the tooth fairy, easter bunny, and Santa Claus for years. They finally started believing me on the first two, but steadfastly refuse to believe the last. Quote
Churchmouse Posted August 30, 2013 Author Report Posted August 30, 2013 No Santa! Who has been feeding you that rubbish? Quote
NeuroTypical Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 No Santa! Who has been feeding you that rubbish?Hey now! I never said there was no Santa! Of course there is. It's just that I'm him. I only really work at it about 3 weeks a year - plenty of time to be online. Quote
SpiritDragon Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 The tooth fairy brought me $1.00 per tooth as I recall, however when I was having this discussion not more than a few months back with my family my mom said she started us at $0.25 and gradually worked us up to a dollar. I din't get a visit from the tooth fairy when I had my wisdom teeth pulled to go on my mission though... maybe I should look into that payment with interest idea. My sister was horrified because her kids were reporting that their friends were getting as much as $20.00 a tooth. She thought surely that can't be right and started asking around. In her neighbourhood she and her husband are the chintziest tooth fairy couple and they pay out over two dollars as I recall, possibly up to 5$ for the older kids. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Yeesh. It's one dollar per tooth at our house. Quote

Or Euros/yen/pesos dug out from old luggage if the tooth fairy gets caught outMy oldest loses teeth at really unexpected intervals ... like yesterday. DUDE. That was a permanent tooth. Okay, you're going to have to pay the tooth fairy for that one. I'd say about $400 should cover it. Q Quote

TalkativeIntrovert Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Hmmm, this has got me thinking, that tooth fairy really owes me heaps! I had all baby teeth removed, then 4 adult teeth to correct over crowding, then 4 wisdom teeth, then lastly 2 super-numeries (extra teeth beyond what is normal). Get my back payment and interest and retire I think. Quote
Guest Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 The tooth fairy decided not to visit the Philippines. Never heard of her until I flew to the US in my 20's. I'm thinking of filing a complaint.... Quote
Churchmouse Posted August 31, 2013 Author Report Posted August 31, 2013 I think someone shoud be responsible when we start losing our permanent teeth also. There must be a government program for that. Hey, they give away free cell phones. There must be something in place for teeth:) Quote
