Not sure carlimac.  I've had no other complaints about this.

OK, I click on "quote" and it just jumps me to the new box to reply in but there isn't any quote there. Am I supposed to do something else, too, to make the post I'm trying to quote appear?

  • Click on the "start" button
  • right click on "computer"
  • click on "properties"

What does the "windows edition" section say?

For the browser, which of these do you use?

If you're using the big 'e' (Internet Explorer), then

  • hit the "alt" key on your keyboard
  • at the top of the browser, you'll see "file edit view favorites tools help"
  • click on "help"
  • click on "about Internet Explorer"

What version of IE are you using?

Well there is your problem.  You are using IE.   :D

OK now I'm on google chrome and it works. Shouldn't  IT for LDS.net go in there and make it work for Internet Explorer, too, since they know it's a problem?

I didn't say that they knew IE was a problem.  Just that IE is not the best browser to use any longer.  I was just stating with a hint of humor my opinion.

Hmm. I'm surprised no one else has said anything. But then I'm just barely competant on the computer. I have my little pathways and if anything changes,  I'm lost. Every time my son comes home he changes something. Waahhh!

I didn't even think to try a different browser till mordobund said something. So what really is the problem with IE? Why is it not up to snuff?

It doesn't work for me either, carlimac.  I also use IE.  I like it better than anything else i've tried.

I was just looking at our stats for lds.net as a whole to find out which browsers our viewers use the most.  IE and Firefox are wayyyyyy down the list.

Looks like it's Chrome, then Safari (in-app) and Safari.

IE and Firefox are almost (notice I said almost) a thing of the past.

That may be partly due to the fact that the other browsers aren't working right. In windows chrome is the only browser that seems to work right with these forums ie firefox doesn't seem to agree that I'm logged in and so doesn't show the little view new content button (is this software by google? hmmmmm...) But in Ubuntu, my firefox works fine so that's what I use there.

They are now. Was that the case before the switch?

Yes.  I went back and checked status prior to the change just to see.

For the month of January, chrome users were triple the amount of IE users.

I click on it and it does nothing at all. Nada! It's dead.

try using a different browser. The new forum is a bit picky about what browsers work on what OS's.
