Dravin Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 I click on it and it does nothing at all. Nada! It's dead. Are you accidentally clicking on "MultiQuote" instead of "Quote"? Quote
pam Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Not sure carlimac. I've had no other complaints about this. Quote
carlimac Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 OK, I click on "quote" and it just jumps me to the new box to reply in but there isn't any quote there. Am I supposed to do something else, too, to make the post I'm trying to quote appear? Quote
mordorbund Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Are you using IE on Windows 7? And are you having problems pasting in the textbox? Quote
carlimac Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 I can't copy and paste either. I don't know what windows I'm using. My son ( the computer programmer) changed it to something different 6 months ago. I don't know what. Quote
mordorbund Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Click on the "start" button right click on "computer"click on "properties"What does the "windows edition" section say? For the browser, which of these do you use? If you're using the big 'e' (Internet Explorer), thenhit the "alt" key on your keyboardat the top of the browser, you'll see "file edit view favorites tools help"click on "help"click on "about Internet Explorer"What version of IE are you using? mordorbund Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 By the way Pam, I have the same problems on IE11, win7. Quote
pam Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 By the way Pam, I have the same problems on IE11, win7.Well there is your problem. You are using IE. jerome1232 and The Folk Prophet 2 Quote
carlimac Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 IE 11 So what's wrong with that? Quote
carlimac Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 Well there is your problem. You are using IE. OK now I'm on google chrome and it works. Shouldn't IT for LDS.net go in there and make it work for Internet Explorer, too, since they know it's a problem? Quote
pam Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 I didn't say that they knew IE was a problem. Just that IE is not the best browser to use any longer. I was just stating with a hint of humor my opinion. Quote

I was just stating with a hint of humor my opinion. Hmm. I'm surprised no one else has said anything. But then I'm just barely competant on the computer. I have my little pathways and if anything changes, I'm lost. Every time my son comes home he changes something. Waahhh! I didn't even think to try a different browser till mordobund said something. So what really is the problem with IE? Why is it not up to snuff? Quote
mordorbund Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Looks like IE11 is not too friendly with iFrames (the magic that makes the textbox work). Quote
carlimac Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 Thank you for explaining it to me on a Kindergarten level. No sarcasm. I'm really grateful when someone explains it in terms of magic. That makes as much sense to me as all the other Pig Latin of computer language. rayhale 1 Quote
Connie Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 It doesn't work for me either, carlimac. I also use IE. I like it better than anything else i've tried. Quote
EarlJibbs Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 This problem still exists. Switching to Chrome. Quote
pam Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 I was just looking at our stats for lds.net as a whole to find out which browsers our viewers use the most. IE and Firefox are wayyyyyy down the list. Looks like it's Chrome, then Safari (in-app) and Safari. IE and Firefox are almost (notice I said almost) a thing of the past. Quote
mordorbund Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 They are now. Was that the case before the switch? Quote

That may be partly due to the fact that the other browsers aren't working right. In windows chrome is the only browser that seems to work right with these forums ie firefox doesn't seem to agree that I'm logged in and so doesn't show the little view new content button (is this software by google? hmmmmm...) But in Ubuntu, my firefox works fine so that's what I use there. Quote
pam Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 They are now. Was that the case before the switch?Yes. I went back and checked status prior to the change just to see. For the month of January, chrome users were triple the amount of IE users. mordorbund 1 Quote
