Crypto Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Hello. :) I just noticed in your signature about keeping lemons, which is cool, because lemons are great for cooking and eating. I like eating lemons! Quote

askandanswer Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Hi Keyra, welcome to the site. I hope it won't be long until you feel that it is time to change your name from Iusedtobelds to something like Iamlds and dropping the first two letters of your religious affiliation. I'm sure if you're courage isn't quite enough yet to get you back to church that there are many people here and in your ward who will be happy to lend you some of theirs. Hoping to hear more from you from time to time about your journey back and your safe and speedy arrival. Roseslipper 1 Quote
EarlJibbs Posted December 31, 2014 Report Posted December 31, 2014 Welcome. May you find what you are seeking. This is a good online community we have here. Quote
yoyoteacher Posted January 1, 2015 Report Posted January 1, 2015 I recently was feeling a lot of the things that you are. I joined the church as a teen, was active for four or so years, and then went inactive for seven. I had some pretty strong promptings in my life that I wanted to go back, from one of the girls I coach talking about general conference at a football game to going to pay for groceries and ending up behind the missionaries in line. I think when someone goes inactive, there's a tendency to put Heavenly Father on the metaphorical back burner and to forget about Him and our covenants (that's what I did anyway). Coming back to church, I was greeted in my home ward with open arms and there was a lot of happiness in seeing me back. It's a blessing to know that even though we may grow inactive in applying gospel principles to our lives, the ability to regain the blessings of our covenants never goes inactive, so long as we repent and commit to our end of the deal once again. Got a little preachy there, sorry! If you ever want to talk, know that there are people here who are more than happy to give you support through the process you are currently considering. <3 Oh, and welcome. This place is pretty awesome! Roseslipper 1 Quote
OhThatMatty Posted January 1, 2015 Report Posted January 1, 2015 I know a lot of where you are coming from, "yoyoteacher." I was officially a "member" for twelve years (baptized back in 2001), but was inactive for much of that time. I had some personal crises with depression, etc., on my way to pursuing priesthood ordination back in 2012. It was awful. I wound up having my name removed from the records of the Church, but I never completely lost my testimony. Every time I attend a Sacrament Meeting (only a few times over the past couple of years), it always feels like I'm where I'm supposed to be. I really feel like the Spirit confirmed that this past Sunday. I'm actually talking to the missionaries in my area now, who are in turn going to talk to the Bishop, about my (hopeful) reinstatement process. I've heard two sides: one that I have to be rebaptized, and the other side that I don't. I'm going with the former, simply because to my understanding, when one has their name removed from the Church's records, it effectively cancels one's ordinances as well. Good luck to you! Even if you've been inactive for a long time, at least you're still a member! :) Vort and lagarthaaz 2 Quote

JimmiGerman Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Hi! Do you wear a Stetson there in Texas or flowers in your hair? Edited January 27, 2015 by JimmiGerman Quote
JimmiGerman Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Love the Lemons sig! But if we keep the lemons, as recommended in the signature, they are no longer free lemons. So let the lemons free and let them fly! Peace! Edited January 27, 2015 by JimmiGerman Quote
