Heaven forbid a person should have a little fun now and then.

Exactly.  We don't have fun on this site like we used to.  These days someone gets bent out of shape.

Just for that Miss, I'm making you upgrade @zils ticket to first class too. She was going to stowaway in the baggage compartment.

Yes, yes she does. There is no compound where I live with my 14 wives in sunny, gorgeous Florida.  Exactly Pam, exactly. Now I owe YOU a first class ticket! :D

(at least that's what we told @mirkwood when the authorities came knocking)

Hooray!! (Before we finagled the baggage compartment, I was gonna have to stow away in the wheel well with an oxygen tank and a parka!)

Give me a break. Do you know how much I had to bribe the airline? Be happy you aren't on the wing!

Ms. @pam, your new slogan should be "Make LDS.net funny again!" You could even print up some hats!

The scriptures exist to bring us to remembrance of the dealings of our forefathers with God, that we may be made humble and then have the Spirit be with us so that we might also have dealings with God, so that we can attain the covenents that bind us to Him. It matters not to me what humbles a person to the point where they can have the Spirit testify to them of Christ and the restoration of the gospel.

However outside of having God's anointed tetify to you directly, the scriptures are the best thing for inviting the Spirit.

As for the NDE it is interesting. It may or may not be the case as the person says it is.....I do not know I havent had any revelation on it yet. A lot of elements seem to fit what has been revealed, but i have no way of knowing it. As that person does not have authority over the church what he saw was not meant for me if it was from God, or was a godly experience.

But I'll stick it to my list of things to keep an eye out for.

Talking about the movie Airplane is much more exciting than eating ant larvae.

That's because you've never tried it.

What if the larva is chocolate dipped?

There's a restaurant inside the insect museum in New Orleans.  They serve fried insects of various types.  I tried a larva of some kind.  I can't remember.  But it was fried with oil and sugar.  It tasted like some sort of desert.  Really when it is fried, it doesn't taste like anything.  So, all you taste is the seasonings.  But it had enough substance to be able to chew before swallowing.

So noted and identified by the exorbitant balances on many credit cards?

NDEs, dreams and visions of other normal saints without stewardship over me is the last place I would look to learn church doctrine as these experiences often do not agree with each other, are often meant to be symbolic and not meant to be taken literally, or are what I like to call "too much pizza dreams."

However, I find some of them very interesting and when particularly they are taken together there are recurring events and teachings that are worth knowing about I think. I am particularly interested in these things related to future events, so I particularly read the journal type accounts or teachings of George Washington, John Taylor, George Albert Smith, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, etc. Seriously, many of them have shared dreams/visions/NDEs.

But then if my friends or acquaintances have received a dream, vision or NDE I like to hear about those as well, i.e. what they received and what they learned from it. We know that we are in a time where we will increasingly see these spiritual gifts given to all types of people as "the prophecies of Joel have been fulfilled..." related to these things. https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2001/10/living-in-the-fulness-of-times?lang=eng

(As far as the OP I have not read that account so I have no opinion regarding it.)
