Iggy Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 A little princess sings with a lovely lilt. Elphaba She was something else - one night I sat and watched as many of the videos from Britain has Talent as I could find. That was when I first saw Peter, then Connie. The one with fire is awesome, just awesome. Thanks for this thread Elphaba - you are awesome too.
Elphaba Posted August 13, 2007 Author Report Posted August 13, 2007 Way back in 1975 when I was 20 my best friend forced me to go to an Elvis Presley concert. I wasn't very interested and really resented the $25 ticket price, which was huge to a swingin' but broke single girl. But, good friend that I was, I went.I sat through the opening band, sort of bored, checking out the cute guys. Then I heard the beginnings of the theme to 2001, and suddenly, it hit me. I will never, ever forget the moment I realized that Elvis Presley was about to walk out on that stage. That stage right in front of me. Elvis Presley! ELVIS PRESLEY!!Elvis the Pelvis. Elvis! It truly hit me like a ton of rocks. I have always been so grateful to my friend Debbie for "forcing" me to go. Elvis PresleyElvipa
Elphaba Posted August 13, 2007 Author Report Posted August 13, 2007 Nora the Piano CatI put the sequel first, because, frankly, it's better. But they're both really cute and clever.Elphaba
Elphaba Posted August 13, 2007 Author Report Posted August 13, 2007 From the YouTube site: "Monet was literally the "boss" of impressionism movement in the history of art, because it was a painting he did in 1872, titled "Impression, Sunrise", which had a baffled art critic pick out the word "impression" to describe, at the time, the relatively new art trend. The soundtrack in this piece is the first 3 minutes and 45 seconds of Chopin's "Piano Concerto No. 1 In E minor, Op.11: Romance - Larghetto". Elphaba

Elphaba Posted August 17, 2007 Author Report Posted August 17, 2007 Here is Paul O'Grady Aka Lily Savage he's interviewing Michael Flatly (Riverdance) took me ages to find someone you might know lolActually, I "met" Michael Flatly once. I saw "Lord of the Dance" in 1997 where I was front row center, and when he came out he was topless, all covered in baby oil. Ick! The he got sweaty, and he'd spin around and it'd get on me! Double ick. So, I figure I've been introduced! I couldn't believe those Spitting Images. What a flashback. My ex and I used to watch them! I saw the one of Billy Connelly while I was watching the ones you posted and laughed my tooshie off at that one. I love Billy Connelly. Those were great Charley!ElphieA jumping spider's mating ritual. Elphaba Posted August 18, 2007 Author Report Posted August 18, 2007 In 2001, Patrick Cassidy wrote this astonishingly gorgeous music for the movie Hannibal. Since then it has also been used in Bram Stoker's Dracula and King of Heaven with Orland Bloom. There's no video to this, just the music. I think you'll agree with me however, that the music is holds its own.Vide Cor MeumI guarantee you'll want to listen to it more than once.Elphaba
