  1. Comparing the difference of languages: Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Moses 4:22 Unto the woman, I, the Lord God, said: I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception. In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. I will greatly multiply. According to the LDS version of the King James Bible, the Hebrew for this clause would more accurately be rendered something akin to "God will greatly multiply thy discomfort and size during conception." In other words, she will give birth to mortal offspring, which will require an uncomfortable increase in her size. Ellis T. Rasmussen wrote: Sorrow is used in Genesis 3:16 and 17 to translate the Hebrew 'etzev, which connotes "toil, pain, travail." Doubtless the burdens and pain of pregnancy and childbirth were thereby anticipated (Gen. 3:16b). This is a great revelation to women. Eve and her daughters can become cocreators with God by preparing bodies for his spirit children to occupy on earth and later in eternity. Mothering would entail inconvenience, suffering, travail, and sorrow; these the Lord foretold as natural consequences and not as a curse. Eve's calling to be the "mother of all living" would be painful in the pregnancy, delivery, and nurturing of her offspring. However, it would also allow her to serve as a partner with God (and her husband) in the creation of life. Through the Fall, Eve had been endowed with one of God's greatest gifts to mortals—the power of creation. But it would require sacrifice. In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children. President Spencer W. Kimball indicated that he felt that this would better be worded as in "distress," "pain," or "waiting" you will bring forth children. He wrote: "I think there is a great gladness in most Latter-day Saint homes when there is to be a child [born] there." Thus, again the emphasis is on the physical discomfort, but not on the regret.
  2. Another observation I found early before joining the church was the conflicting of plural usage as to OUR and US, in the first couple of chapters of Genesis.
  3. You are right...it was possible for Eve to bear children but without knowledge, which fruit did provide (meaning - opening their eyes), what prevented both Adam and Eve in making this happen if I look at them as a adolescent child . But that is a different story to talk about. It is not your fault some clergy decided in your interest what to remove and what to change. It is only by a person who receives this key by divine methods and is greater than a prophet. Today, we have such a prophet, it was Joseph Smith who passed the keys through priesthood ordination to now - Thomas S. Monson. What is a Seer. “A seer is a revelator and a prophet also” (Mosiah 8:15–16), and when necessary he can use the Urim and Thummim or holy interpreters (Mosiah 8:13; 28:16). There have been many seers in the history of God’s people on this earth, but not so many as there have been prophets. “A seer is greater than a prophet … and a gift which is greater can no man have …” (Mosiah 8:15–18). Joseph Smith is the great seer of the latter days. In addition, the First Presidency, the Council of the Twelve, and the Patriarch to the Church are sustained as prophets, seers, and revelators. For other references see 1 Sam. 9:9; 2 Sam. 24:11; 2 Kgs. 17:13; 1 Chr. 29:29; 2 Chr. 9:29; 33:19; Isa. 29:10; 30:10; JST John 1:42; 2 Ne. 3:6–14; D&C 21:1; 107:92; 124:94, 125; 127:12; 135:3; Moses 6:36, 38. 4. I never had the missionaries lesson before joining the church and had to learn it later the differences to make the connection of why GOD did not call it a sin.
  5. Sad part, as Joseph Smith seen in the first chapter, a older Jew clergy who had no authority even change the singular use of the word GOD from GODS or council of the GODs. This was a problem among the early clergy, who took no thought when it came to translating from one language into another, they needed this priesthood key.
  6. A living prophet, which also holds the keys of seership. Seeship is only given divinely to make changes back to the original source. Have you read the Book of Moses located in the Pearl of Great Price? Missing text: And in that day Adam blessed God and was filled, and began to prophesy concerning all the families of the earth, saying: Blessed be the name of God, for because of my transgression my eyes are opened, and in this life I shall have joy, and again in the flesh I shall see God. And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient. And Adam and Eve blessed the name of God, and they made all things known unto their sons and their daughters. (Moses 5:10-12.)
  7. Thanks...now, do you know the difference of the term "TRANSGRESSION" or "SIN"?
  8. That is because they are running our government and corporations.
  9. D&C? Section 7:7. In this revelation (D&C 7:7), the Savior indicates that he has given to Peter, James, and John the "keys" of his ministry until he comes. When John the Baptist later restored the Aaronic Priesthood (D&C 13), he specifically stated that he was acting under the direction of Peter, James, and John. (See HC 1:39 and D&C 27:7-8, 12.) Background Section 7 One of the most frequently misunderstood chapters in all the scriptures is John 21, which tells of the appearance of the resurrected Jesus Christ on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Verses 20-23 are particularly difficult: Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? (John 21:20-23 ) Instead of simply wondering about these verses, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery asked the Lord concerning the exact status of John the Beloved, and they were privileged to read the words that were written by John himself concerning this incident. (D&C 7.)Later on as they continued with the translation of the Book of Mormon, they received additional insights into the mission and condition of John. When the resurrected Jesus Christ appeared to his chosen twelve disciples among the descendants of Lehi and asked them to express their hearts' desire, he indicated to three of them, "Ye have desired the thing which John, my beloved, who was with me in my ministry, before that I was lifted up by the Jews, desired of me." (3 Ne. 28:6.) (Companion to Your Study of the Doctrine and Covenants, vol. 1by Daniel H. Ludlow, p.82) What may help is BOAP website: The D&C Concerning High Priest, this was given on June 3, 1831. By the way, section 7 can be found in this volume: Annotated History of Joseph Smith Vol. 1 Chapter 4 (Apr. 1829) It brings out the difference of the earlier editions of the Book of Commandments (1833) verses the Doctrine and Covenants (1835). See 1833 Book of Commandments and 1835 Doctrine and Covenants — Cross Index
  10. This is where I do agree. Our opinions are really meaningless for this life unless we are coequal what the Godhead has already mandated. What really matters to any person on this planet are how we conduct ourselves in this life is what we receive in the next. Again, not many in the church will ever reach the level of a Condor (analogy of the bird of prey with the celestial three states). It is about whom we serve and how we serve. Many will be Hawks Some Eagles But a few Condors
  11. Plainly stated, He only visited the "just" and not the rebellious. 8 “By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in aprison; 9 “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.” (1 Peter 3:18—20.) 10 “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.” (1 Peter 4:6.) 11 As I apondered over these things which are bwritten, the ceyes of my dunderstanding were opened, and the Spirit of the Lord erested upon me, and I saw the hosts of the fdead, both small and great. 12 And there were gathered together in one place an innumerable company of the spirits of the just, who had been faithful in the ctestimony of Jesus while they lived in mortality; 13 And who had offered sacrifice in the similitude of the great sacrifice of the Son of God, and had suffered ctribulation in their Redeemer’s dname. 14 All these had departed the mortal life, firm in the hope of a glorious resurrection, through the grace of God the Father and his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. 15 I beheld that they were filled with joy and gladness, and were rejoicing together because the day of their bdeliverance was at hand. 16 They were assembled awaiting the advent of the Son of God into the spirit world, to declare their redemption from the bands of death. 17 Their sleeping dust was to be restored unto its perfect frame, dbone to his bone, and the sinews and the flesh upon them, the espirit and the body to be united never again to be divided, that they might receive a fulness of fjoy. 18 While this vast multitude waited and conversed, rejoicing in the hour of their adeliverance from the chains of death, the Son of God appeared, declaring bliberty to the ccaptives who had been faithful; 19 And there he preached to them the everlasting gospel, the doctrine of the resurrection and the redemption of mankind from the fall, and from individual sins on conditions of erepentance. 20 But unto the wicked he did not go, and among the ungodly and the unrepentant who had defiled themselves while in the flesh, his voice was not raised; 21 Neither did the rebellious who rejected the bestimonies and the warnings of the ancient cprophets behold his dpresence, nor look upon his face. 22 Where these were, darkness reigned, but among the righteous there was peace; 23 And the saints rejoiced in their aredemption, and bowed the bknee and acknowledged the Son of God as their Redeemer and Deliverer from death and the cchains of dhell. 24 Their countenances ashone, and the bradiance from the presence of the Lord rested upon them, and they csang praises unto his holy name. 25 I marveled, for I understood that the Savior spent about three years in his aministry among the Jews and those of the house of Israel, endeavoring to bteach them the everlasting gospel and call them unto repentance; 26 And yet, notwithstanding his mighty works, and miracles, and proclamation of the truth, in great apower and authority, there were but few who hearkened to his voice, and rejoiced in his presence, and received salvation at his hands. Thanks Wingnut, I correct the left out portion of the posting. I was referring after the spirit world appointment was complete did He visit others. The answer was already given by others.
  12. Interesting question...do you think there is going to be any “active” H/L in the millennium?
  13. Hmm...that funny, why have the millennium? That is a perfect world comparing to this state. But then, we have the celestial glory. That is a perfect world. Yes! They will still have children even in that state.
  14. I said in a perfect world. You simply cannot have children in a normal method of creation. Then "why use such a statement"? As, defining true love or joy...not possible unless one has experience it to really understand it. Yes! We could read about it but first witness of such event gives a truer meaning to both. However, I do not answer to what can a "A-sexual being" could create.
  15. Exactly...there is alot of 'bad apples' during the dark ages, but at least what was a positive, they kept the bible and the 'air' of religious beliefs going.
  16. How do you have children when they are both females - or - both males? If this is the intent of marriage, there is no progeny at all in “a perfect world”. I am not talking about injecting sperm into eggs or any form of a adoption to overcome this simple issue. So, were does this statement come into effect? It is actually meaningless at this point. You simply cannot procreate at all in a perfect world. Now, is there joy in this?
  17. Even if we cross the veil, on a selected few that will inherit the highest kingdom will have this knowledge.
  18. First, go back to read an earlier post concerning my research revealed he was a Christian. He was not naive to the principles of what was being taught by his own church during his youth. He simply didn’t accept the poor uneducated clergy of that era or his parents teaching concerning genesis of the earth or its habitants. Sorry, this is where we differ. As too crediting him to others work, and additional credited him with LDS baptism, that is pure speculation. We actually gain nothing but need to go back and correct this poor fabric of creative science. I do accredit Joseph Smith giving us more understanding what is truth than this man.
  19. There are more than one side to each story...we simply believe what is appropriate drawing by our own research and culture learning. Even the upside cross was not created by anyone in this country. It was Peter who requested this form of execution by the Romans. I cannot any further find anything else in history to match this form of death. Adding a circle to it could be drawn from other sources throughout history. We could state – such and such was the creator – but never or less, he still receive that creative thinking from another source and not his own. In another words, he is not the original author of such when we look at it. I.E. - even my Smart bullet concept (currently be worked on by DARPA), is nothing more than a culmination of potential ideas of snipers ‘wants’, sci-fi movies, current missile technology, thus ending up giving this concept objective and potential military application for any DoD military sniper. Yet, it is not mine to be credited when others have the ideas prior to this novel concept.
  20. The Gospel Doctrine teacher's reputation as a scriptorian preceded him in every calling, and sometimes he found it difficult to live up to the expectation that he was all-wise. One Sunday, the lesson on prayer wasn't going as planned, and the teacher stumbled along, hoping things would improve. Finally, he asked Brother Lauren to read Ecclesiastes 3:1-9. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven," Brother Lauren intoned. "A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill and a time to heal . . . " When Brother Lauren finished all nine of the familiar verses, the class sat in silence, trying to understand what that scriptural reference had to do with the lesson. The teacher looked perplexed. "Isn't there something in there about prayer?" "No," Brother Lauren replied, "but I can make it up for you---a time to pray and a time not to pray!"
