How Many Relapses?
annewandering replied to Karmelapplez's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Good questions but I dont think there is any way to know the answer ahead of time. It has to be an individual choice/experience for each wife and husband. -

Postpartum recovery and garments and all that...
annewandering replied to Backroads's topic in Relief Society
There is at least one nice app out there for dr appointments, meds lists, medical conditions etc that is nice to take with you to the doc. I have had 10 babies and never once have I ever heard of these mesh panties. Of course four were at home but still. Sounds like a very nice invention -

I cant speak for others but men being pregnant is a funny idea. Men dealing with childbearing or childbirth.. well I dont want to insult guys in here who I am sure would never be whiny about it if they were privileged to become pregnant.

Every Hair on the Head (and chin?) Will Be Restored

Take a few very close up face photos. Put on the computer. Enlarge. Then break all the mirrors in your house. Yike it is enlightening and horrifying! -

Ok I really mean all the hair that falls off bald mens heads. :) Or that ends up in your hair brush! Ok forget that. We will NOT have cankles. My grandma came back and showed me her pretty slim ankles! (just try to prove she didnt!) -
Happy Birthday! Enjoy!

Maybe God restores all those hairs to stuffed toys for poor children? -

Husband does Illegal graffiti
annewandering replied to alison_143's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Oh pft. When did I admit tagging is wrong. I never admitted it at all. That implies I was disagreeing at some point. So the OP's husband is demonstrating the same risky behaviour the prisoners have demonstrated? Are you sure about that? He is not in a gang. He is not using drugs or dealing. He is not stealing. He is not murdering. He is not doing anything of a risky behaviour set except painting. I sincerely doubt he has seen the prisoners doing the set of behaviors the ops husband is doing. Just a very small subset of ONE. Although if he sees this set of behavior in the prisoners maybe they need a few more guards.- 83 replies

I think you are right. Pain does make death sound like a pretty cool idea. Provided we are good with God. :)

I can tell you what our bishop said when we talked to him about our baby. He asked if there was any chance the baby would live for any length of time. Then he told us of several incidences where people had been kept alive for months by blessings and the results. Then he told us we needed to pray about it to decide what we should do but that there was no reason to go to extreme measures to extend his life. Now that is not euthanasia I realize but it does address the issue of how we should deal with these issues. Seek guidance. Study on it considering the exact situation. Pray about it. Then accept whatever the answer is and deal with it.
-
Traveler, the idea of struggling for breath makes me think of the morphine again. It inhibits the demand for breathing and ends the struggling. So would morphine be euthanasia or would it be easing their suffering?
-
Ok how about tossing this in? What about the fact that many nearing death are given large doses of morphine. For pain. Or is it? I have found out since our son died that many babies just stop breathing who have been given morphine because it inhibits the instinct to breathe. It seems some doctors give large doses of morphine knowing that is likely to to suppress breathing. Our baby was given morphine. He did slowly stop breathing. Was he euthanized? I dont know but I do know he died a very gentle death in the arms of his family perhaps a few days earlier than he would have naturally. I am NOT in favor of euthanizing people but I am very much in favor of peaceful deaths if possible. It is not an easy problem to resolve unless you have no heart at all.

Postpartum recovery and garments and all that...

I wasnt suggesting wearing them during childbirth either. It was my understanding that we arent supposed to wear just one part of the set though. -
Postpartum recovery and garments and all that...
annewandering replied to Backroads's topic in Relief Society
if you feel you must wear the garments right off the bat then you might want to consider the old one piece garments. It might make things easier to deal with for you, the nurses and doctors. I would feel uncomfortable with the garments being exposed to nonmembers every time they needed to check you but I dont know how anyone else would feel about it. It has been a long time since I had a baby so maybe hospital procedures have changed since then? -
Why would we want the state to 'let' parents keep a child? States should never have the option of taking a child in order to get help for their health care. I know this has been done in the past over any number of family financial crisis'. It is a poor solution if not flat out evil. We need encouragement and problem solving, which I would hope didnt focus on surrendering children. I also had the impression the state was helping the adoptive parents. Did they do anything to help the biological parents? Or did they feel that recommending abortion was sufficient? If I remember right they already had one child with problems so they were probably quite aware of the issues they would be dealing with.
-
Perhaps if we had a better health care system more parents would chose to care for severely damaged children. If they knew they would have help, both financially and physically, they would feel they could survive the otherwise staggering costs and drain to their families. The way things are now it could easily put most any family out on the streets. How could they care for the babies then? We need a new way of thinking. If we want these babies to live we have to figure out how to make it possible. Just saying no abortions for them is not solving the problem.

Husband does Illegal graffiti
annewandering replied to alison_143's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
If none of us were allowed to use common sense and logic instead of personal experience in this forum there would be very few posts on here. You have no experience with taggers who have never been imprisoned but feel quite free to not only critique me but them as well. :) Tagging as the OP's husband is doing is wrong. Not sure anyone said anything different. The question here is what can she do to convince her husband to stop this behaviour not who amongst us has a proper credentials to discuss it.- 83 replies

When our first son was born we discovered very fast that it is very hard on not only the parents but the medical personnel. Our son was taken care of by 2 nurses that had a total of two babies to care for. How can you live with caring for a baby and knowing its going to die no matter what you do? Day in and day out. The burn out is very high. You can never know the stresses in this till you have been there as a caretaker or a parent or sibling. You can say what you want but when its you and your baby it is very real and very immediate. At the top of the list of suffering is the baby. If you know your baby is going to die very soon with no chance of living anything but a short life then what do you do? I will tell you right now that whatever you just said in your mind is useless till it happens to you.

Postpartum recovery and garments and all that...
annewandering replied to Backroads's topic in Relief Society
Unless you have enough garments to change them every hour or so the first few days they are very impractical. Depending on how bouncy you feel you arent going to want to be changing clothes that often either. A lot will depend on your birth person and what they do. -

So what does he do his graffiti on? Walls, bridges, rocks, cliffs? Maybe you could convince him to at least use something that will wash off.- 83 replies
