Lol not due to this by any chance?

She actually hung up on you? As in, put the phone down mid conversation? I think I'd have already gotten the message at that point and not bothered e-mailing her. She clearly doesn't want to go and is being fairly rude in getting that message across. Get paired up with someone else.

There is generally heated debate about any building of that size being erected anywhere. It's not limited just to mormon temples. Some people enjoy complaining, whether about increased traffic issues or blocked views.

Though as a teenager, I used to try and sneak two or more pieces in order to try and do just this during fast and testimony meeting.

They are known for their rather excessive dry sense of humour.

Well, in my opinion, a Yorkshireman would quickly be banned from this forum. No, I do not think dry humour is appreciated too much on here in general, particularly if not clarified. That makes it all the more amusing for the person using said humour though

I think top gear does this quite well On a side note, I've noticed that I walk a little bit like Jeremy Clarkson

I keep saying, the horns are there for the pure purpose of holding up the halo! Sheesh.

Everything that was said is not just limited to posters on a message board. That's just people in general. Everywhere you go, you'll get the same thing.

You have been a member since Feb 2003 and it took you until now to come to that conclusion? There is also another type which kinda slots between the two primary types mentioned. Those who make their posts as emotive as possible in order to cause debate and contention, regardless of their true feelings and beliefs. They get a kick out of seeing the result.

Personality Types (everyone should take this) ^^

The thing that concerns me is the amount of people who have been on this road (network engineering and administration) for years who so desperately want to get out of it. Check out this thread on another forum for a few examples, such as: On the other hand, there are still a few supporters still so I'm not quite suicidal yet... -
I think someone isn't familiar with Harry Enfield

Do you spray aerosol into the aero then?

Is that a misspelling of aeroplane?

*ahem* In the defense of us blokes, while women may communicate their feelings, it would be highly appreciated if we didn't have to learn an entire new counterintuitive language, spoken solely by women, in order to interprete said feelings *ducks and runs*

I wasn't suggesting the sealings would be classed as valid in the churches point of view. However there is nothing to say they cannot be forced by government to perform them, eternally valid or not. My point really was that temples are not immune to government rule by any means. They cannot change what you think or know at heart, but they can change what you physically do - if it ever got to this, I believe the church would close temples affected by these laws.
-
There are also printable recommends online. This is why they introduced the bar code - if the church is made aware of any lost, stolen or revoked but not handed in recommends, it will alert the person on the front desk when that recommend is used.
-
I agree. It can never be said the law of the land cannot dictate how the temples operate, it already does in many respects. It is part of church rules that no person without a temple recommend can enter the temple. Well, this happens all the time because it's part of the law - do you really think most governments will allow the church to operate a public building in which no government officials can enter? It just happens at a time when no patrons are around to see them. It doesn't take much for government to change the law and the only way the church could stop same sex sealings happening is to close the temples in the area in which that law affects.

In most cases, yes. And if not, then they can start another thread and link to the old one if the old one is locked. That presents a solution to the problem of people posted on redundant threads and provides a work around for those that are still applicable today. A lot of members who will have posted on a thread two years ago will no longer be active on the site. Plus doing it that way makes it very clear the original thread is an old one - not everyone notices this.

Temple presidencies do, I wouldn't say the same thing about temple engineers. Presidents are usually retired volunteers whereas engineers are usually employed professionals ranging from the early 20s to late 60's.

Usually happens with newbies to forums, who often find the forum via a search engine linking to one of the older threads and just cannot resist contributing, whether they actually notice the date or not. A lot of forums automatically lock all threads after they have been idle for a few months to stop just this. If they want to start another thread on the topic, they are welcome to do so.
