Yup, I agree.  Dust to dust.  Its all the same stuff.  If God can turn Hydrogen into Gold via nucleosynthesis, then He can clothe a spirit with any physical matter He chooses.  So many bodies lost at sea or cremated ashes thrown to the winds do not require God to hunt down each particle and piece them back together.
Joseph & Hyrum’s remains have been recovered and reburied.
D&C 138: 40, 50-51 are pretty good verses to support that Abel is resurrected.
Although I’m sure I could wait a few thousand years without a body as long as I was doing something worthwhile and understood the future plans.  I see the beauty of delayed gratification.

Most of it does turn over.  But not all.  And some toxins like lead dont.  And some the stuff that we are shoveling into our bodies were never meant to be there.
Medications, chemical and genetically modified foods.
Its crazy.  Watch that video above…

Yup.  But they were perfect specimens.  No genetic defects.  No exposure to toxins during their lifetime.  Healthy living and spiritual well being.
Women are born with 1-2 million viable eggs.  I cant imagine living 900 years and 840 of those with debilitating arthritis…
I assume Adam and Even continued making love during their lives.  And she probably hit menopause in her 500’s.
Moses 6: 10 And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his own image, and called his name Seth.
    11 And the days of Adam, after he had begotten Seth, were eight hundred years, and he begat many sons and daughters;

This seems to give rise to another question, though.  We have skeletons of infants and children who died pre-Christ.  But I had always understood that the non-Telestial dead who died pre-Christ were resurrected shortly after He was.  So, why weren’t these little ones resurrected?  Is *every* pre-Christian grave modern archaeologists find, the resting place of a wicked person?
One solution to this that I’ve been toying with, is that while resurrection *might* in some cases entail the re-gathering/re-assimilation of all of the specific atoms/molecules that went down into the grave (especially when doing so constitutes a sign to others, such as Christ’s own resurrection)—that that may not *always* be the case; and resurrection may actually involve the selective retrieval of some body material that was discarded throughout one’s life (if *every* molecule that was ever part of/eaten by us came back in the resurrection, we’d be physically enormous.)
Thus, I suspect that the fact that we today have remains that are traceable to a particular individual, doesn’t necessarily mean that the individual has not yet been resurrected.  Peter, for example—we know he’s been resurrected.  Joseph Smith saw him.  He got ordained to the Melchizedek priesthood by him.  And yet, I think the evidence is reasonably strong that the 1st century skeleton found under St. Peter’s Basilica and analyzed in the mid 20th century, does originate with the apostle Peter.  But then, it must be that there isn’t enough of him there at the Vatican to even call it his “body” anymore.  Certainly, the soft tissues are all gone.  Whatever’s still there is like . . . nail clippings.  The nonessential stuff.

I believe that Jesus Christ (Jehovah) was exalted in the pre-existence (first estate).  Several reasons – here are a few:  The name or title of Jehovah implies exaltation as does the title “The Son” as a reference to one of three exalted entities of the G-dhead.  We are also given understanding that the creation was carried out by G-d which is spoken of by John as the “Word”.  Nephi gives witness of the condescension of G-d to come and walk among men to suffer even unto death to redeem mankind.

Matt. 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
I don't see why righteous Abel would not have been resurrected by now. If their time is anything like our time the gospel should have already been preached to everyone of that dispensation. I would think his work was done.

How was Abel able to deal with being alone in the spirit world?  Perhaps the place was empty and Abel kept busy by building a house with a gable. Perhaps Abel had an adorable pet sable (they would have shorter lives, so some may have died before him) and told it parables while he made a table to sit at and a chair to sit on.  Perhaps Abel built a stable stable in which to keep his friends the sables.

So here are the questions?  "Continuation of the lives", what does it mean?
My understanding of this verse currently, is that it simply means that our lives will continue beyond of the grave as exalted beings. It does open the idea of a continuation of God's work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of the sons and daughters of God. Speculation of course.
When did Jesus Christ enter into his exaltation?  Before the pre-mortal existance?  After the atonement?
He is already there. There was never a time where he was without the Father (so to speak). My thoughts entertain Christ's baptism. Some things just need to be done, but he was already there baptism didn't change his glory, his body.
Curiously, I don't think that Able entered into his exaltation yet.
I'm inline with other thoughts in this thread. Able probably was not the first to die of Adam and Eve's sons and daughters. It's humorous to me that I never really thought about the first person to die and being alone in the Spirit World. That had to have been a very interesting experience, seeing how often I have read and heard from others how they are looking forward to the family/friend embrace once they pass on from this earth life.
Able, at my current knowledge, would be no different than Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Nephi, Sam, Lehi, and any other righteous saint. I believe it is doctrine that all who were righteous (kept their first estate) would have been resurrected after Christ was resurrected. We know that Able was a righteous man, the Lord appears to make that known to Cain. There is no reason to think Able wasn't resurrected as with others, and that he is currently doing what others are doing also who died before Christ and his resurrection.
If Cain still walks the Earth, he would be the obvious source of secret combinations.
That is an interesting thought regarding Cain. I don't have much to say with regards to Cain. I'm more inclined to believe the apostles experience as noted in the Miracle of Forgiveness. What an awful punishment, but for one to introduce murder and other things it doesn't seem to bad either.

Thanks!  I always like to go to the source, and get some context.
I note this address was given one year after the US Civil War ended.  Some quick googling and wiki-ing reinforce what I thought I had been taught earlier: Post-civil war Black Christians were all about self-segregation, and the LDS church was one of a very, very short list of "white churches" that would even have them as members.
From that lens, such statements as Brigham's were markedly progressive for the era.
    Anyway:

My son freakin loves his mission.  When he got called to Farmington NM I sighed.
I hate NM.  Got like 3 speeding tickets going thru a 30 mile stretch (NE corner of the state) back and forth from Texas and BYU during undergrad.  Total speed trap 65 MPH on Texas side and 55 in MN - and no one lives along the road, its totally abandoned other than dirt, weeds, scrub trees and cops dispensing citations!
Anyway, he has been in the Zuni Pueblo for 3-4 months and absolutely loves it.  Lots of service (mostly chopping firewood).  Confiscating alcohol from the members and the occasional dime bad of cocaine.  Had to explain that we don’t take possession of illegal substances.  And teaching the gospel.
His letters are great.  And his attitude is spot on.  The ward Sunday attendance has gone from < 10 to over 40.
Once again the Lord knows best.

    Some of my hobbies:
Puzzles of all kinds—Crosswords, Cryptograms, Sudoku, Jigsaw, etc. I go through a lot of variety puzzle books.
Music. Love to listen to most genres. Lately, I’ve been listening a lot to oldies, Nancy Sinatra, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Mamas & Papas, Doobies, Led Zepplin, ZZ Top.

Piano.  My arthritis is limiting my amount of play time.
Crocheting. Again arthritis is limiting how much I can do.
Travel. I’m a retired airline employee so have flight benefits the rest of my life.  I’m planning a trip to Germany/Austria/Liechtenstein for April. My younger sister asked me to be her tour guide for this trip.
Reading. I belong to a neighborhood book club which gets me reading genres I typically don’t read.
Other interests include sewing, baking, my grandchildren, camping, and digitizing family photos. I’m also writing a history of my dad for the family. I collect pens and pencils and other office supplies, nativities, snow globes, angels, nutcrackers (the German soldier kind), and souvenir spoons from everywhere I travel,
Edit: I have my Ham Radio license and monitor and listen daily to certain local repeaters.

There must be a single character to represent Khepri.
I always mused that since the phrase was used so many times in the BoM that there must be a single character in reformed Egyptian that corresponds with the phrase “And it came to pass”.

Yeah, math and I have a love-hate relationship too.  I'm a finance major, but that means my entire math brain is kept in spreadsheets, where all the work happens.
Homeschooling rocked, because I was blessed to be there and witness the exact moment my daughter surpassed her old man in math.  She was like 6 or 7.  I was introducing her to 3rd grade addition problems.  Adding lots of numbers together all at once.
      234
      563
    +602
I was going row by row, showing her how the stuff she already knew could be used.   You already know 4+3, it's what?  Seven.  Yep, so just add 2 to 7, and write it at the bottom of the first column.
I asked her a question about the 2nd column, and she thought for a minute and said "It's 1399!"  I asked her what she meant, and she said it was the answer to the whole problem.  I quickly did the rest of the math to discover she was correct, and asked her how she did it so fast.  She said it just worked that way in her head.
That's when we moved to the "here's the assignment, ask me or mom if you need help" phase of math for her.   She basically got herself through algebra with occasional help from Mom.   To this day, I still count by internally singing those school house rocks videos in my head.  Dang smart kid.

    GW Bush
    Obama

    Trump
    Biden
I now have 10 presidential elections under my belt where I have real memories of people talking and opining about stuff.   Every singe one of the 10, I can remember people giving variations on these themes:
"This is the most critical election we've ever had. The future of our (democracy/republic/country/nation/way of life) is at stake!"
"When are (my party leaders) gonna finally get serious about who they run?"
"If that person wins, I'm moving to another country."
"Say goodbye to your freedom/rights/friends and allies in other countries/money/culture/gains we've made in the last 50 years"
So no, I'm not more or less unhappy with 2024 than I have been with earlier ones.  It's just the next cycle.  The pendulum continues to swing.

I do believe every single empire that has ever risen in the world has eventually fallen.  And I believe that the post WWII decades of economic expansion and peace came largely from the US running the show, although we don't call it an empire.  More like Hegemony, rule via being the biggest kid on the block.  Militarily, economically, and culturally.  I'm not worried about Trump or Biden.  I'm worried about China's ascendency.  I'm worried about Israel/Gaza turning into Israel/Gaza/Jordan/Syria/Yemen/Iran/US/UK.   I'm worried for my kids, because we're now throwing billions at every issue covered by the press, because our politicians get votes by throwing billions at issues.

The problem with doing this is that nowadays people spend more time going over these images for oddities that whatever AI program you were using managed to muster up.
For example, in your top right picture Bigfoot is there in the background to the left of everyone. I'm guessing that whatever AI program you were using scraped that infamous image as one of its references for a wilderness situation.

To some degree it probably is; but I believe God will send us better candidates when we show we want them and refuse to embrace the openly-amoral, proudly visionless libertines that the abortionists or the “beer, babes, burps ‘n’ brawls” wing of the GOP serve up to us.  Naive, I know . . .
A certain forum member back in 2016-ish got really mad when I cited 1 Kings 19:18 and likened it to Trump; but that’s still pretty much where I am.  If the GOP thinks they need my vote, they know where to find me.
