  1. Yeah, the whole demon thing kinda takes the shine off her doesn't it
  2. Longer-Term Supply
  3. What happened to the one who didn't use his talent? I think he buried it in the backyard or in a safety deposit box or something
  4. Poor Adam, his first wife cheats on him with some archangel then his second wife gets him evicted from paradise.
  5. No no no, I should have thrown a smiley or a in there, I was teasing about summary thing. No apology necessary. I forget sometimes that my sarcasm might be difficult to spot in a written post. Apologies.
  6. It is not a years supply anymore, it is 3 months Family Home Storage I don't know about being blacklisted from the second coming over this though. I call shenanigans.
  7. I envisioned what it would be like if there wasn't an online forum. Instead, a bunch of us sitting in my living room talking instead of posting. New member knocks and it turns into a big Mormon pile at the door.
  8. I did
  9. Repentance "Serious transgressions, such as violations of the law of chastity, may jeopardize a person's membership in the Church. Therefore, such sins need to be confessed to both the Lord and His priesthood representatives in the Church. This is done under the care of a bishop or branch president and possibly a stake or mission president, who serve as watchmen and judges in the Church. While only the Lord can forgive sins, these priesthood leaders play a critical role in the process of repentance. They will keep confessions confidential and help throughout the process of repentance." Once the repentance process is over it will really be like it never happened, and you will absolutely be able to have a temple wedding. IF there is any kind of disciplinary action that effects your membership status, you obviously will have to work through that as well. You will still be able to get married in the temple after you work through this. I am not questioning your spiritual confirmation of forgiveness, but the guidelines for breaking the law of chastity are perfectly clear in regards to confessing to your bishop. I know a couple who messed up the night before their wedding but went ahead with the sealing anyway. A year later they confessed to their bishop that they fornicated the night before their wedding but chose not to talk to someone about it and got sealed anyway. Even though a year had past and they came forward willingly, they knew they weren't worthy to be sealed in the temple. God will not be mocked, they were excommunicated. This isn't something that fades away with time. If you ignore this now you'll eventually go to your bishop about this. It may be a few years, but you'll go to your bishop, or eventually you'll go inactive. If you've been given forgiveness from Heavenly Father and the Spirit confirmed that, the important part is over. But you know that breaking the law of chastity has to be worked out through priesthood authority. I sincerely wish you well in everything, I really do, regardless of what you chose to do :)
  10. I don't. I didn't write the book, Stephen. If there are contradictions with your understanding of scripture then you have to figure that out for yourself good sir. Alright, I'll give you a hint ... the verse you quoted above and asked me to reconcile for you, it isn't in conflict with the verses I posted. You left out the part that was wrong! ... okay: I'm too nice. Paul isn't talking about heaven.
  11. I don't have any "wonder" if laws and regulations get ignored. I think some businesses look at the law as a financial matter and not a legal one. If it's more cost effective to pay the fine for breaking a law than to change your operation so you aren't breaking the law, I think we end up with oil spills in the gulf of mexico. I'm not sure why you rewrote my post into neat little group of statements I didn't make, but I will not help you "summarize" me into something I didn't say. That's crazy talk.
  12. Do you get it now?
  13. If I pointed out that it's unconstitutional for an office within the government to appoint clergy to a church, would it make a difference?
  14. When you and 399 of your friends can outspend a third of the country, there's probably something out of place. So much power and influence spread across so few people does NOT help our economy, does not help social issues, it simply corrupts. These are the people who exploited the antitrust laws to make a five-fold fortune. All the while jobs are sailing overseas, the top companies are breaking profit records every single quarter, and the corporations these people invest in receive about a trillion dollars of tax money and avoid paying ANY taxes thanks to a loophole in the tax law. Our "free market" has gone from capitalism to corporate-socialism. But no one has noticed because the board of trustees for every major news station is filled with these 400 people, and instead of reporting on the state of our economy and society, they spend 6 months talking about how John Kerry looks French. Does this sound like the land of promise to you? Or is iniquity abound? You know why there's a thousand people living on the sidewalk on Wall St.? Because they can't find work and the people responsible for creating the jobs are gambling away people's retirement money on the stock market. The best part? This next presidential election we're going to elect another bought-and-sold suit who will work day and night to keep those 400 people as rich as possible. We know better, and we as Latter-day Saints are held to a different standard ...
  15. Maybe a month from now there will be so many people camping on Wall St that Wall St will shut down for a day. Then 2. Or in a month people abandon the occupation to by the new Halo game it's forgotten. Like you said, we just don't know.
  16. Good point! I think racism will be publicly accepted looong before the church is. I'm okay with that.
  17. I'm trying to find a way to say that I'm rooting for racism to pull through into the 'funny' group without being inappropriate about it ...
  18. Well, right now the solution seems to be a camping trip to Wall St. I support the movement, I like that people are getting up and doing something. They don't know what to do either, and I don't think they've figured out how the occupation will solve anything, but the simple fact that people are finally giving a crap about something is astonishing. And I love it.
  19. I don't know if racism will ever make it in the "fun to talk about" group
  20. The richest 400 people in the US have more money than the bottom 100,000,000 combined. Does that seem right to you?
  21. The differences are small to us, but the notion of 3 separate Gods instead of 1 is heretical to most of mainstream Christianity.
  22. The thread titles bring out the inner teenager in me
  23. I honestly never EVER thought the American public had it in them to organize and protest like they have.
  24. Revelation 19:11 - And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Ezekiel 1:1 - In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. Acts 10:11 - And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth Revelation 4:1 - After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Acts 7:56 - And said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
