  1. I missed the mission question. Thought it was required. Got the error page.
  2. Exercise is always good for everything. Talking to Heavenly Father is great while walking, or any other exercise. That gets oxigen into the blood, and makes for a refreshed uplifting feeling. Taking every thought captive to the word of God is the best mental exercise any can do.
  3. Some may mean, born again, in other ways. For me it's like falling in love. You can't really explain it to someone, unless they have had the same expierence. Even then it may be so precious that they find it hard to talk about. When I was baptized at the tender age of eight, there was a special something that I didn't understand, that happened to me. Yet it wasen't untill thirty one that I actually fell in love with the One that loves me best and knows me fully. After thirty five years it is still the same way. Spiritual growth has taken place and so many lessons learned. All leading toward that promised finish line. I love that old song, "we have a Heavenly Father above, with eyes full of mercy and a heart full of love. He really cares when our head is bowed low, consider the lilies and then you will know." Guess to sum it all up, born again is better felt than telt'. Ya know what I mean?
  4. It's like the general dumbing down of America, has such a foot-hold, that any intellegence is sort of lookd at very suspect. We have all seen the e-mail of the death of common sense . Television is such an assult on even common decency anymore. It is welcome when someone has intellegence, and I hope I would not be a respecter of persons, if I knew that I had met a genius. When we converse with the God of all creation, our greatest blessings abound.
  5. Can we get a wittness? Yes! God the Father is the God of all living. He sent His Son, what greater gift of revelation can we recieve and be a wittness to.
  6. Your right it was Boltz, sorry about that. It's been a long time since I have heard it. Such a beautiful song. Also like bluegrass gospel music.
  7. One time in prayer I asked, when will there be a coming togeather of all the scattered people who love you Lord. All I seem to know was, on the thrashing floor. When the wheat is on the thrashing floor then the hulls will be gotten off, the chaff will blow away. Yes we can all do our part in the body. Love never fails, and I know that the walmart story spoke to me too. I have seen those faces and felt compassion as I know others may have done for me. It will wax worse and worse, then any light that shines will be very welcome. Don't think they will ask your religion when push comes to shove.
  8. Well for myself it would depend on who the anger was pointed it. Many times it might be pointed at myself for not doing something at the time that it was needed. Being passive when that seemed easier, but not right. Selfconscience about taking a stand when being done wrong, can make a person angry at theirself. That to me is the hardest anger to,' not let the sun go down on.' Just my two cents.
  9. Being self-conscience is a problem we all struggle with from time to time. I have heard prayers that were sermons with everyones head down, and eyes closed. If man has a formula for prayer, let it be the model prayer. Prayer for me is to agree with my Heavenly Father. Speak his words, as they are heard. Pour out a heart, in words, it's really all we will do. If this response is in the wrong place, forgive me.
  10. M. Bolton (spelling) does a beautiful song called, The Anchor Holds. It has blessed me many a time. Songs are sermons that touch the heart.
  11. Giving up all traditions rooted on paganism, would leave us pretty stark indeed. Only three that comes to mind, christmas easter an halloween. Not that big a fuss to give up presidents day or st pats. Candy everyday not just valentine. Christ our only focus, to hold to the truth of the resurrection, and life eternal in Him. Does this seem like a people would be lacking? There can be great joy in life even if we do not conform, But seek to be transformed So much to have revealed, so little time.
  12. Sort of agree with Magen on this one. There is more that unites than divides. Hope there is some form of joining the family of faith together in the near future. Jesus prayer for us to be one is sure to be answered. The how and when may not be to our liking. In a crisis situation we never ask, what's your religion.
  13. Sign of the times. oops! Guess I said that once already today. However so much of the battle of faith is due to that. Staying awake during sermons (some dry, some good), communion, long prayers..... Even when our friends need a shoulder to lean on, it becomes weary sometimes. Just need more of jolt to our faith to help us realize the shortness of the time. Revive us dear Lord.
  14. Just a sign of the times. In the last days many belief systems will be very shallow. The traditions of this world are in the media, stores, everywhere you look. The desire to capture the mind by capturing what our eyes see. Walking by faith and not by sight is daily struggle. Faith of any kind is under extreme attack. As christians we must be strong and endure till the end. Looking up for the hope of our soon coming King Jesus. No longer a baby, kept in a cradle by tradition and yearly celebrations.
  15. To distinguish the difference between man and God, is mandkind's problem. Made in His image, after His likeness, yet with our own will to choose. Only in Christ are we Safe from this rebellion in the soul. Many would believe, demons included. It is the heart that agrees that walks with God. Declaring that Jesus is Lord, in this lifetime so short. As for a people, look for those who have the early church power. God is love, we manifest thatlove to the best of our ability. Offices and traditions change, power to deliver, heal, transform lives, changes not. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven. Forgive my faults dear brothers and sisters, I am just another pilgrim.
  16. Have never understood completely what "denying the trinity", really accounts for. If you have a Heavenly Father that loves you, a Lord and king Jesus that saves you and a precious Holy Spirit that guides you, what would you be?
  17. Traditions of man. This just came to mind as I was reading through all the posts. We hold so dear the things we learn as a child. In our town there was a little booth set up for santa, all the children went through for their treats. My turn came and when looking in my sack I saw a rotten orange. Well, that was so sad for me. Mom told me that santa didn't know, but I thought he did it on purpose. So after finding mom filling our socks one morning, I knew we had been lied to about the whole thing. In my thinking it is easy to try and put one over on kids, for what we think is their own good. Maybe not so good.
  18. When I was a new christian the first thing I wanted to do was go to church. Be with those who could encourage and lead me, teach me. Heavenly Father made it real clear what I should do, He said, "read my word". I thought that was why I was to go to church, so it could be 'taught' to me. That is what I answered my Father with. Again, "read my word". I says, but I can't understand it. The same comforting voice says, "just pass it before your eyes". That I could do, and the wonder of what the Holy Spirit gave me was awesome. Still can't get over that thirty five years later. Just wanted to add a little encouragement to the OP.
  19. Why hasen't anyone mentioned tasers? They are another alternative for use for someone that is not able to fire a gun, but could be used to disable till help arrives.
  20. You never hear of someone breaking into a prison or jail and shooting anyone. At least that much protection should be for the innocent children in our society.
  21. Don't worry, we won't let this one go just yet. I've been known to kill a few over on another board, so can understand the feeling. I always enjoy your point of view, and your humor.
  22. Sounds as though the thread might give you some comfort on your own beliefs. Why would what others thought matter? Jesus said to Peter, who do men say that I am? Then, who do YOU say that I am. Really that is the center of the quest. imho
  23. Like that closing line, "We'have contentment if we'll but take it into our minds." How awesomely true . How profoundly simple. What hinders us yet?
  24. We serve an all knowing God. This is a comfort in any storm of misunderstanding. What do you think God needs to learn? I do not comprehend that thought. He is alpha and omega to me. If there is such a thing as a latter-day saint Pentecostal, that is what I can relate to. The gifts of the Spirit that the early church had are still here. It is our wills that hinder. Paul says that Christ can free us from that. I am persuaded, that we do not know, how much in need we are of these gifts that we are shying away from. Will it take persecution for the body to learn a hard lesson, I hope not.
  25. That could be the key, as a man thinks, so is he. Each one confesses to what they understand at the moment. As long as we don't stop believing what we do not yet see, it may come more clearly into view. Faith is the assurance of things hopes for, the conviction of things not seen. (Heb.11;1 New American standard) pardon the interruption, it is very interesting to read this communication you are sharing.
