I fully agree with Inky, we certainly don't want any fountain pens, or parts thereof, in our churches (or anywhere else)!

    By way of information
Last Thursday after weeks of negotiation and speculation, the leader of the minority New Zealand First party decided that he would support the Labor Party in a coalition to form the new government in New Zealand. The leader of the Labour Party, Jacinda Ardern, who only became the leader less than 2 months before the election, will now be Prime Minister. She was raised as a Latter-day Saint but left the church in 2005. I'm not sure if she is still on the church records, but if she is, I believe she would be the first ever Latter-day Saint head of state.

I've heard that she is related to Elder Ian Ardern who was called as a Seventy in 2011. In July this year he was called to be second counsellor in the Pacific Area Presidency, with has its headquarters in New Zealand.

Celticpride, I just re-read your posts, to remind myself where you're coming from.  It's clear you're in a very difficult situation.  We here can and will do what we can to help you - with learning, with encouragement, or just to listen when you need to rant.  When it comes to changing your situation, all we can do is offer advice and encouragement.  The following are suggestions, made from a place of not really knowing the details of your life, but with the best possible intentions on my part.  If they won't work for you, try to find similar things that will work for you.  It seems to me that the most important thing for you right now is to exert control over some element of your life where you don't currently feel in full control.
Do you have what you need (car, money for the bus, whatever) to get yourself to church?  If so, I challenge you to get up on Sunday morning, prep yourself for church, and just walk out and go.  Don't argue or justify or respond to hateful comments as you go, just go.  I believe you will find this empowering, and help you to take other actions which improve your circumstance.  If you don't have the means to do this yourself, perhaps you can arrange for someone to pick you up (even if it has to be a block or two from home)?
As suggested, if the sister missionaries don't work for you, try mormon.org, or here.  Eventually, the sisters will be transferred (or at least one of them will, and then later the other).  In the meantime, pray for them, and for yourself, and use those means that you can to learn.
For Church history questions, here and FairMormon.org are good places to find information and explanations.
If you're not, try to read from the Book of Mormon every day - there is power in that book, and there are promises therein, most importantly, that when you do what the Lord wants you to do, he prospers you.  What that looks like varies from person to person, but I have experienced it both ways (the lack of blessings and the blessings), and I know many others who have also experienced it.  Please give it a try.
Right now, a great many things in your life are leading to frustration and perhaps feelings of despair or hopelessness.  While I don't know what your life is like, and wouldn't dream of saying I know what you're going through, I do know what it feels like to despair of things ever getting better.  But things won't get better unless you make them better.  I know it seems impossible, it seems like you have no control.  But the bigger things are making little things seem worse than they are - that's the thing about despair - it sucks everything in like a black hole, everything is as bad as it can be and gets worse, rather than good things being good.  You need to find a way to change perspective, to recognize the little things which aren't worth your frustration, and the start changing things for the better - even if "things" are only your perspective and thoughts (at first).
Please note that it doesn't matter who is responsible for any of your trials or frustrations - it doesn't matter if your family or those where you work are in the wrong.  You cannot change them.  But you can choose to act rather than react.  You can control what you feel, think, say, and do.  And even though things may look hopeless, you can find and even create hope - with the help of Jesus Christ.  This isn't easy, but it can be done, and is worth the effort.

@LiterateParakeet says it best, I think.
There's your husband, and then there's your marriage, and then there's you.  The objective is for him and you to be one in marriage with Christ.
Your husband's demons is for your husband to drive away.  This is not something that you can do for him.  You can be the perfect wife, the perfect mother, the most beautiful, passionate, loving woman on the planet, this wouldn't mean anything against addiction because the addiction has nothing to do with you.  He'll have to figure this out.  But, like most major things in life, one cannot really rise above these things without the help and support of the people around him.  What you can help him with is your forgiveness and showing him the path closer to Christ one inch at a time.  This is love.
Your marriage is for you and your husband to work on and protect.  The demons your husband is fighting is affecting your marriage because it makes him completely incapable of protecting your marriage.  What I love about your opening statement is that you didn't make this about him versus you.  Rather, you made this about both of you against addiction.  This is how it should be.  Both of you should stand on the same side of the fence through your marriage fighting this evil.  He hides these from you because he knows it's bad and he is ashamed for what he's doing to your marriage.  It would be great if he can trust your marriage and seek your help instead of hiding in shame.  Unfortunately, this is the problem with addicts - the shame is so great that it prevents them from completely humbling themselves to seek atonement.  Wallowing in hopelessness and simply giving up is the easier route and it leads to them just throwing everything away and wipe away their feeling of guilt by siding with the devil.  The marriage needs to be protected as it is the foundation for your children.  When the marriage crumbles your children crumble with it.
Then there's you.  You also have your own demons to fight.  These demons may be caused by the constant barrage of having to stand up strong all the time to prop up your marriage.  It wears on your spirit.  You have to be able to inch closer to Christ as you help your husband.  Saving your husband and losing yourself is just as bad.  Love others (your husband) as you love yourself - this is the commandment.  Not just your husband, not just yourself.  LiterateParakeet gave very good advice when she mentioned you going to therapy for yourself.  You can't keep the marriage (and your children) protected if you are lost.
So, do you stay or do you go?  This is for you to decide.  Keep the objective in mind - you and your husband in marriage (with the children) closer to Christ.  If staying in this toxic environment will get you farther from Christ, then you have to go.  If leaving will get your husband farther from Christ, then you have to stay.  Sometimes, there's no way to resolve the opposing forces.  So, whatever you do - stay or go - just bear in mind that staying doesn't mean you're giving up on yourself and going doesn't mean you're giving up on your husband.  It simply means you're choosing the best option so that you can do what you need to do to bring yourself and your husband (with the children) closer to Christ even if the only thing you can do is kneel down in humble prayer every morning for his salvation as you work on getting yourself and the children some healing away from him and his demons.
    Hope this helps.

I'll be one to say that no amount of restrictions will keep anyone from getting what they want. I work in a home for adults with mental disabilities. One of them isn't even allowed to have the internet password and he someone finds ways of viewing it.

In a conversation in a YSA ward we had a while back, we talked about how the greatest filter is your own will. Anyone can find porn on a filtered computer, but a person will not view porn if he chooses not to. Harder said than done when the person is addicted. But what I'm saying is that filters are not a viable option. They only help in preventing triggers and unintentional exposures to porn. If anything, it gives the addict added security in lying to the person who set up the filter. For all they know, the filter works perfectly.
Anyway. Ill state again what I said above. If you want to beat this with him. You both need to be living the gospel to its fullest. Read the Book of Mormon every day, prayer together and alone every day (MULTIPLE TIMES ). Become fully active in church (Don't just attend, participate  ). Go see the bishop if you haven't already. Go back to counseling :)

@MadMaddy, your husband's addiction has nothing to do with you not being a great wife.  He uses because he is an addict, not because you're lacking.  You are no more to blame than a wife who's husband is addicted to heroin.  You aren't heroin/porn and nor should you be.  Please don't blame yourself for his addiction.
As to whether or not to stay with an this unrepentant addict.... that's a question you should contemplate deeply with the Lord.  Yes, you have justification to leave, but none of us here can tell you rightly because only the Lord knows the right move for you.

I am sorry to hear you are going through this.  I have unfortunatly been on your husbands side of things.  It truly is such an incredibly difficult place to be in.  I would be shocked if someone here told you to stay or leave, that is a very important decision and I know Heavenly Father can help you choose the right path for you and your family.
I just want you to know that you are enough!  I know that you feel like you aren't but his choice to persue pornography has nothing to do with you.
Each week I sit in an LDS 12 meeting with several other men addicted to pornography, every one of us want's to be rid of this evil so bad it's undescribable.  We are each at different places in our recovery, but the effort to overcome is what is important.  If I were in your shoes, that is one of the things I would look hard at...is he still trying??  If he is, I know he could use your continued support, as you both rely on the the Savior to help carry your burdens.

Hi @KY93 and welcome to the forums, and (more importantly) welcome to checking out the Church!
The pace of learning about the LDS church is whatever you want it to be.   As @Grunt said, sometime us LDS folks (especially missionaries) can get a little over excited and forget you got to walk before you run.  But you're in the driver's seat and we do take "pause"  or "slow down" very nicely.  You are in the driver's seat.  We LDS are also HUGE on the "learn line upon line" concept, so no, we're not going to dump a bunch of material on you and say "pop quiz at 8 AM tomorrow!".  In fact, there are no pop quizzes in the LDS faith ever.
As to reading to material:  You're welcome to read as much material as you want (or don't want).  Awesome job getting through as much of the Book of Mormon as you have!  That is definitely the book of scripture to start with (you're obviously familiar with the Bible already).  The most important books in the LDS faith are our 4 books of scripture: the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price.  The 4 are all held at the same level of importance (cause they are all scripture), but some are better to read first and "hit the bullseye" more concisely.  Hence, why we focus on reading the Book of Mormon first and wait on the rest right now.
One the book which might be of use to your right now is our Sunday School manual for new members (https://www.lds.org/manual/gospel-principles?lang=eng).  Obviously a manual and not scripture, but it's really useful for explaining basic LDS doctrines.  As with all LDS materials you can read/listen/whatever for free.

As far as going to LDS services: again, there's no pop quizzes.  But there are screaming babies  .  LDS believe that worship time is family time, so everyone is together for our main service, including the screaming babies.  It's super casual, you're always welcome to join.  You're not required to recite anything or make any statement of faith to join in LDS activities (cause we don't recite anything at anytime  ).  If you'd like to partake in the Lord's Supper with us, you're welcome to, or if you want to pass you're welcome to do that too.
The main service is an hour long, with different members of the congregation giving mini-sermons on various subjects (like ~4 mini-sermons in 45 minutes).  We don't have a professional pastor to get up and lecture everyone else: rather we all teach each other and we're all learning to better follow Christ, line upon line.   In fact, if you come one the 1st Sunday of the month, it's open mic, so you're hear a bunch of folks just get up and talk about their testimony of Christ.
If you want to stay after the main service, there's Sunday School classes for everyone, including classes specifically for people just checking out the church.  Again, everything is up to you: you're the one in the driver's seat.
