This is a manufactured crisis, just like the majority of all such "crises" are manufactured. The question is: who is manufacturing them? For my money, you can look no farther than the Fabian Socialists. This "crisis" like all the other manufactured social crises is about "fairness." It isn't fair that one person should have more than another, or that I should have to feel anxious or concerned (or that my belly button is an outtie instead of an innie). The idea is that everyone should be equal and the best way to do that is incrementally. It has taken years for the Fabians to accomplish this, but it has reached a point in geometric progression that it has become a snowball. The more kids mind they can corrupt, the more they pass it on from generation to generation. Cleon Skousen wrote about the goals of the communist part in his book, The Naked Communist. Here are the 45 goals of the communists/socialists. Some of these aren't applicable right now, but look at all the goals they've accomplished.

I'm sorry it came across this way. I do not question your intelligence. In light of what has been given in general conferences, I do not understand how you would not think we wouldn't take our addictions with us. As Elder Rector and others have taught, we take all addiction with us when we die.

Why not do some research? Read the article I posted and do some more searching.

What does it take to commit the Unpardonable sin?
JojoBag replied to Mark Sword's topic in Advice Board
A person must have gone through the temple and received their endowments to commit this sin. There are those who say that the number of those who become sons of perdition can be counted on the fingers of one hand, but that is false. There will be many, but there are serious conditions to meet. I think that the very fact you are asking this shows you have not. You may have seriously messed up, but I doubt you've committed the unpardonable sin. -
What's the difference between global warming and Santa Claus? One is a jolly old fat guy who flies a sleigh powered by reindeer and delivers presents to children on Christmas Eve. The other is a myth.

You don't get it. Addictions are spiritual as well as physical. Here are three quotes from Elder Hartman Rector, Jr., regarding addiction. You can read his talk here. http://scriptures.byu.edu/gettalk.php?ID=1801

It is a myth that recovery is a life time process or that it takes a specific amount of time to recover, or "once an addict, always an addict." When I came off the drugs, I did it cold turkey. Going through withdrawal without medical help was like taking a camping trip to hell and staying for a couple weeks to enjoy the sights. When the withdrawal symptoms began to increase in intensity, I stayed awake for two nights walking in circles around my living room; I finally passed out for two hours later the third day. I literally walked about ten miles during that time inside my living room. Have you ever had restless leg syndrome? It feels like big worms are crawling through the muscles of your legs. You have to keep moving your legs to stop the sensation. This is where the term, "kick the habit" comes from. I had that throughout my entire body for several weeks. I still suffer post acute withdrawal symptoms to this day. Going through withdrawal taught me a valuable lesson: never become addicted to drugs. I have no desire for the stuff. As for the porn addiction, it doesn't have to take two years; it doesn't have to take two days. It all depends on how committed you are to overcoming the problem, and your knowledge and understanding of the causes behind the addiction. I was cured of my addiction when after my bishop gave me a blessing. When I left his office, I no longer had the desire for looking at porn. I was left with some serious bad habits, but after four months of intensive work, those were gone, too. I was left with a complete abhorrence of the filth that has strengthened to this day. It does not tempt me in any way. I have yet to read anything by anyone that actually understands the true causes of addiction, because all of the theories (including LDS authors) discard or discount, or don't even consider the spiritual side of addiction. It is the spiritual side of addiction that is the key to overcoming any addiction. The physiological side is but a small part of the problem, which is what many authors focus on. Knowing, understanding, and gaining a testimony of the real spiritual aspects will allow anyone to get a lifelong cure of any addiction. This is why the ARP program is spiritual based: the problem is spiritual based.

President Benson talked about this kind of "Christian." He called them "socialist Christians." These are the type that believe that everyone will make it back to God. There really isn't anything called "sin" and there really isn't a Devil. It's nothing more than the evil passions of men that are the problem in the world.

A thought about dealing with Islamic terrorists
JojoBag replied to Traveler's topic in Current Events
Turn loose the military and give them a free hand. I guarantee that ISIS will be stamped out within a month. However, that will never happen since we have a president who is a Muslim. -
The media is controlled by exactly six corporations owned or managed primarily by globalists/socialists. It is politically correct to love Muslim refugees right now, until the same thing happens to the owners/controllers of these corporations. The media is nothing more than the "Pravda" propaganda arm of the government. If anyone in the main stream media said that the sky was blue, I'd go outside myself and make sure. The media only reports what will further the socialist agenda and slant everything to meet that.

just how much income is a person "supposed to have"?
JojoBag replied to Backroads's topic in General Discussion
It doesn't matter how much of an income a person has. What does matter are a couple things. Do you neglect your spouse, family, your callings, attending church/temple, and self to acquire a large income? If so, you are breaking the commandments. If you are not neglecting these things, then what are you doing with your money? If you are using it to keep up with the Jones', buying anything you don't need (large fancy house big enough for ten kids when you have only two, Mercedes when a Toyota will suffice, etc.), are coveting money, not being charitable and helping others in need, etc., then maybe you have too much money. If you are not wisely using your money, but squandering it, then maybe you have too much money. -
The idea that physical changes in the body eliminate porn addiction, or that the body causes it is wrong. It completely eliminates the role the spirit plays in controlling our body. This is an excerpt from a book I've been writing on the subject. The problem with psychology and the overwhelming majority of scientists is that they discount the spirit. It is our spirit that controls our body, not the other way around. Our mind is our spirit. If we have a personality trait that is problematic, it is the spirit that has the problem, not the body. Church leaders have taught that we brought our personalities with us from the pre-existence and continued to form them as we grew in mortality. If you are addicted to something in this life and die, you will remain addicted to whatever it is in the next life. The problem is that your addiction will be much, much worse because you cannot satisfy the addiction without a body. Pres. Brigham Young stated that it was 100 times harder to repent in the next life. Take his statement along with Elder Ballard's statement that “every desire, every feeling will be greatly intensified” and I would say that our addictions will be 100 times worse in the spirit world.

Events in the US: The Past month. Is the United States failing?
JojoBag replied to FunkyTown's topic in Current Events
Nope, the Savior would have been locked up in a mental institution for the remainder of his life. -
At the same time I was addicted to porn, I was also addicted to heavy duty narcotics. I took nearly 1000mg of morphine at a time. I did this for eleven years. I came off the narcotics cold turkey. The rush one gets from looking at porn is extremely similar to the rush from drugs. And, just like the drug addict, the porn addict needs more and more to get the same effect. Porn addiction is all about the new and different. He quickly gets tired of the same filth and needs something new and different to satisfy his craving. This is why a man into porn is always looking around at women when out in public. He needs that constant stimulation to keep from going into withdrawal. A drug addict or alcoholic coming off their drug of choice can stay away from the people and places where they bought their drug and partied. A porn addict's drug is walking around in front of him everywhere he goes. This is why I tell men with porn problems to stay away from the TV, movies, and avoid the beach, pool, and malls. You can't control what is out in public, but you can avoid the places that tempt you. You can also not bring it into your home.

On a sunny spring morning, a little boy was born and his mother was certain he would be very different from all other boys. She was right. He was named Phil and he was a very smart little boy. When he learned to speak, he developed a fascination with purple polka-dotted ping pong balls. When he turned three, his parents asked him what he wanted for his birthday. Phil wanted a purple polka-dotted ping pong ball. Instead, his parents got him a truck. Phil threw a royal tantrum, screaming and crying until his parents go him the ball. On his next birthday, Phil's parents asked him what he wanted. All he wanted was a purple polka-dotted ping pong ball. They tried to talk him out of the ball, but he threw another temper tantrum and pouted until he got his ball. When he entered kindergarten, his parents wanted to get him a present, but all Phil wanted was a purple polka-dotted ping pong ball. As every birthday came along, the only thing Phil wanted was a purple polka-dotted ping pong ball. His parents asked him why he was obsessed with the balls, but Phil would not answer. Eventually, Phil's parents took him to a pshrink. After a couple sessions, the doctor said that Phil refused to tell why he wanted the balls. The pshrink concluded that Phil was only eccentric and slightly obsessed with purple polka-dotted ping pong balls. His parents took it in stride and resigned themselves to getting the same present every year. When Phil turned 16, instead of a car, he asked for the same value in purple polka-dotted ping pong balls. When he graduated from high school, he asked for more balls. Phil graduated from college and again asked for purple polka-dotted ping pong balls. The same thing happened for his wedding and when he opened his computer business, he took a portion of the profits and bought more balls. Eventually, he had a warehouse built to house all his purple polka-dotted ping pong balls. Every six months, he inventoried the balls and eventually hired a security firm to guard the warehouse. As his life progressed, Phil amassed hundreds of thousands of purple polka-dotted ping pong balls and built additional warehouses. Not one time did Phil ever tell anyone why he wanted the purple polka-dotted ping pong balls; not his parents, his wife, or his children. Finally, Phil grew very old and lay on his death bed. His wife and all their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were gathered around. Phil told them he would grant them one wish. At the same time, everyone practically yelled, “Tell us why you have nearly a million purple polka-dotted ping pong balls!” Phil smiled and took a deep breath. “Well, I wanted them because...,” and then he died.

When I was looking around for text books for my kids, I knew I had to be very careful what I bought. I didn't want current texts from the public socialist indoctrination system and I also didn't want religious texts from a company who didn't have a correct understanding of the Gospel. I did settle on older text books that didn't have history rewritten to conform with the liberal agenda. I also read the information presented in each lesson. If it had garbage that stated that evolution was the gospel truth, then I modified it. I wanted my kids to understand the concept, but that it was a satanic concept.

Who still has TV service through cable or satellite?
JojoBag replied to pam's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, but what I'm inferring from the context of this is that you think there is nothing wrong in displaying images of nude people. Pornography in any form, be it displays from several hundred years ago or current displays from Playboy is against the Gospel standards. There is no exception to God's laws when it comes to artistic expression. The commandments of God are for all people, regardless of what religion they belong to or if they are atheist, or if they are an artist. One of those commandments is modesty; modesty in thought, word and dress. You are right in that this says something about the critic. It says that he agrees with God. Liberals-progressives-socialists (they're all the same) and critics would have you believe that only their opinion is the opinion that matters. The PTC has an opinion, which, BTW, happens to be in line with the Church's opinion regarding inappropriate media, but you seem to be saying that they cannot express that opinion. Nor have I read any one single thing or anything they have done that shows they have advocated any form of force to make people comply with that opinion. Nor does anyone have a right to tell them they cannot try and induce the entertainment industry to change at least some of their shows. That's called a double standard, which is a classic liberal-progressive-socialist tactic, which is a form of conditioning to get children to accept immodesty and, later on, pornography as normal. No, I don't see the slippery slope aspect. If something is sinful, it is sinful, no matter what any other person might say. To restate what The Folk Prophet said, I'd rather be on the slope that slides toward God. I never go to public pools or the beach because I don't want to subject myself to walking pornography. I avoid malls as much as possible; I don't go to movies, I don't watch TV, I don't play video games, I don't read dirty books, and I never voluntarily bring filth into my home. What I enjoy the most is researching and reading various Gospel subjects and discussing them with my wife. In fact, I absolutely love discussing all Gospel subjects. Instead of Bible study, I prefer the Book of Mormon. I gladly cut myself off from all the worldly aspects of culture, because we are to be in the world, but not of the world. I don't care about the opinion of the world in any way, shape or form. I've told my kids that nobody's opinion counts at all if their opinion does not conform to the revealed word of God. The current prophet and apostles and well as all the former prophets and apostles have all condemned inappropriate media and literature. In fact, one apostle called R-rated and most PG-13 rated moves as being satanic in origin. That's good enough for me. Me, too. Ditto -
Just like the term "free agency" cannot be found in the scriptures, neither can the terms, "gift of discernment" and "spirit of discernment.". What you will find in the scriptures is the “gift of the discerning of spirits. “ I believe the reason for this is because when it comes right down to it, "discernment" is all about discerning between both good and evil spirits. The scriptures teach that everything that is good comes from our Heavenly Father and everything evil comes from Satan. When we receive any revelation or prompting to do good, it comes from God, and he uses not only the Holy Spirit, but primarily messengers to do the prompting for good. When Satan tries to influence us, he does it himself also, but primarily uses evil and unclean spirits to prompt us to evil, or to deceive us. One thing that I rarely hear talked about when it comes to increasing one's ability to discern is to gain knowledge. Joseph Smith was so exorcised over the false spirits the Latter-day Saints were listening to that he wrote an editorial published in the Times and Seasons and included in the History of the Church, Vol. 4:571-581 that was all about discerning between good and evil spirits. Here is a selection of pertinent quotes from that editorial. It can be accessed here http://emp.byui.edu/marrottr/TryTheSpirits.pdf Here are a few other quotes on the subject. Joseph Smith said that knowledge was power and knowledge was salvation, and that the first attribute of God was knowledge. He also said that the reason that Satan has so much power is because he has more knowledge than we do. Satan's number one tool he uses to fool everyone, especially Latter-day Saints is deception. If you have knowledge of the Gospel, not just the basic stuff you hear in Sunday school, but the advanced stuff you learn from the GA's, you will be able to spot falsehood at the drop of a hat. One thing that has enhanced my understanding of the scriptures is my study of the writings of the apostles and prophets. There are a number free PDF books that can be downloaded, as well as all 26 volumes of the Journal of Discourses and the seven volumes of the History of the Church. In addition to that are all the general conference reports ever published from 1880, and all the early church magazines. If you want to download them, go to archive.org.
