As to the old testament and pre-Nicene creed, Jesus addresses the tenants of the old testament, Levitical law, 10 commandments as well as 613 mitzvot with this. Matthew 5:17 " Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil". There is a widely accepted misnomer that the old testament was nailed to the cross. Such is not the case (Although Sacrifice was fulfilled).

You sir, "get it"! As Peter Pan would exclaim, BANG-A-RANG!! On a footnote: I don't agree that she has any say in his career decisions beyond helpful input, for this is within the dominion of a man to walk his career path as he sees fit, and each their own calling, after all, for richer or for poorer. My wife would live in a box with me. Christ himself, nor his apostles, had wealth of money or possessions. Of course, I say this after having bought a new car in November.

Yes, it is, and examine we must. It also doesn't hurt to say a little prayer consisting of "Heavenly father, thank you for my wife, who loves me so much". Great when said on the worst of days too!

I think your over thinking this. Pop on over to the most popular free dating website, create your profile, have a funny and sarcastic narrative, make sure to mention you're LDS (I'm not kidding) and unless you prepare a pathetically written profile, simply enjoy the responses from the many LDS ladies there (They're available), make some friends, go out, pick one. It really isn't hard to fill your dance card, I'm here to encourage you. Now, go out and conquer, you're future great LDS wife is waiting for you to make this happen. Don't forget to smile for your profile pictures. Tip, let your sense of humor come out, it really works.

Not really, it's not magic money that manifests itself out of thin air. Where do you suppose the state gets it's medicaid funds from? Your argument is not without merit, still, medicaid is a federally funded program never the less. On a more moral note, and as previously discussed, absent incidents of rape/incest/medical necessity, PP exists to cater to failure to keep one's pants on in a moral-less climate that shouts if it feels good, do it! Sadly, yet with much humor in society, making father's day a very mysterious holiday for all too many. Welcome to the Jerry Springer era (And the clone talk shows that duplicate it). and all the fun and games associated with human tragedy. It's a "Step on up to the sexual buffeet, America" mindset, but then why should the Fed pay for individual poor choices? Why should the STATE pay for individual poor choices? You have provided interesting argument with the bottom effect, how would YOU solve the problem if you were king for but one day? I for one can't answer that, anymore than my favorite football team listens to the plays I shout out to the television. (They never listen)

Not true, Planned Parenthood in California accepts MEDI-CAL for elective abortions, which is medicaid. source: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/california/alhambra/91801/alhambra-health-center-3561-90090/abortion Interestingly enough, a simple inquiry produced the answer that Medi-cal pays for an adult to have one there as well. Hmm, I'm wondering where this FREE CLINIC gets all it's FREE FUNDS from Medi-Cal (Fed to state subsidy) Just sayin'.

The captions in bold and or underlined are things that either make you an interesting person or perhaps more of a person of interest. I understand that of your comments, one could call you the garden variety Atheist, but that said, why would you want to hang out with a bunch of Mormons? Especially since 2008, I mean that's commitment. I am truly puzzled.

I dated online, it's where my wife found me. (Yes, she found me, I didn't find her, it was way cool) Funny enough, the thought I was a prude at first, I simply later explained that I am LDS, she got bonus points when she told me she was LDS too. Dating her was intimidating, she's one of those women with striking looks, there I was, an awkward Army staff sergeant. The email exchanges were fun, she is witty, sarcastic, things I like. One of the things I liked about online was that it expanded greatly the pool of choices in people to meet, as well as weed through the wackos.

I've never been a hymns kind of guy, I sing them in church, certainly, that is a part of worship. But I am more of an AIR 1 kind of guy, I really enjoy modern Christian contemporary music. It's what's on my car radio when I am commuting. When I feel sad or, ok, I'll introduce the elephant in the room, dealing with PTSD issues, I listen to AIR 1. I don't have a favorite hymn.

Law of Chastity and self-control in marriage
Bad Karma replied to Backroads's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Nor should you. -
Any argument that woman had, if it made sense or not became null and void when she used her calling/job to grandstand on it. I've served under Reagan, Bush Sr. Clinton, Bush Junior and Obama administrations, I did not make remarks about the POTUS while at work, or in uniform or representing the Army in any way. I did my duty, took my opinions home with me, and I kept them there. What do I think she should have done? Within the scope of her calling/job, kept her mouth shut, and with due diligence, done her duty, brought her personal opinions home, voiced them there. Professionalism!

Law of Chastity and self-control in marriage
Bad Karma replied to Backroads's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
I've too much respect for Mrs. Karma, sure, my drive is quite healthy, but the love and respect for her even greater so. Toss in a new Baby into the mix, I'd find endless patience, especially in Mrs. Karma presenting me with a new addition to the family. Interestingly enough, Mrs. Karma and I have oft discussed the possibility of a Little Karma. Makes me think warm thoughts. We're kind of up there in years though, but still, warm thought. 6 weeks no nookie for that cause? Meh, I could and would do it for sweet Mrs. Karma. -
It's unfortunate, but it happens. My marriage is not perfect, but my wife and I are working on it, always. Sometimes it's tense, the rest of the time it's total blessing. She would not trade me for richer, I would not trade her for younger. It took half a lifetime to find the one that would understand me and me her. Heavenly father led me to a woman who would love me for me. I am blessed.

Who thinks the Word of Wisdom needs updating?
Bad Karma replied to priesthoodpower's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
There's been many of updates to the World Of Warcraft.... Wait, what? *tilt* -
Buddy, you must be 20 ways of in love with yourself to even think you could talk to me what way. You can just roll that up, stick it in your mouth, set fire to it and smoke it. I've known your kind in MANY places. I've got no use for you,. Number two, says YOU! Three, Attacking "Mormonism"? There is no such thing as "Mormonism", so, you've simply proven yourself an evangelical loud mouth. Don't sound so glib, you already lost me when you started acting like a TOOL... That is when I shrugged and said "Meh, another anti-Mormon Fundie_.
-
Now THAT made me chuckle. lol
-
Thanks, the moment you said "MOMONISM", I instantly identified where you're coming from. Isn't attacking the LDS faith pretty much a "no no" here? Hmmmmmm
-
Hmm, how disturbing.... I shall have to think on this more. Not that I entertain for one second the existence of a blob god with MPD and all the sheer bull the Nicene creed is.
-
Oh, I know, it's just the blatant ignorance of those that espouse themselves to it are heretical at best. The concept of a blob god with multiple personalities swallowing down gulps of celestial Prozac just to keep everything straight in his head is laughable. Jesus is NOT God, nor is the Holy Spirit. God is ONE, Jesus his son, and the holy spirit are all separate entities.
